II will call my business account manager. But he stressed never send out animals untill checks cleared.
goReptiles said:It may be different in different states, in terms of business laws you're not supposed to take the money first, but in GA it's the law for any legitmate business that does business online. For the life of me I can't find a statute online. But, when you start a legitimate business, you're supposed to actually take the money once you ship out the item. When you buy items at the store they take the money when you leave with the item, so it's supposed to be the same sentiment. When my dad had his business, it was one of the statute requirements for the state.

TripleMoonsExotic said:Gary, please post what you're account manager says...I had a discussion about a year ago with my credit union about my Business Account and accepting different forms of payment and I know they told me that payment must clear before I provide product or services, otherwise I'm just setting myself up.I am interested as well, as I was under the impression that it was across the board.
I may be misquoting the the particular GA law, but I'm still concerned as to every online purchase not using PayPal seems to be this way. "seems" being the key word- that I understand.

I think that you must be confusing checks with credit cards. It is often the case where a credit card cannot be charged until the merchandise is shipped.goReptiles said:He's actually breaking several laws. You're not supposed to cash checks or take money from an account until you ship out the product. When we called him on that, he quickly responded that I could get the product soon. It was still 3 weeks late and no contact within that 3 weeks.

That's not exactly right. Depending upon how you pay (credit card or directly from your bank account), time frame from money being removed from your account will vary. PayPal has no way of knowing when a shipment is made unless you ship through them (USPS or UPS last time I checked).

NOTE: None of my posts have anything to do with Alan. Just questioning inaccurate information.
Show mercy Gary. She's only 20.dsirkle said:I think that you must be confusing checks with credit cards. It is often the case where a credit card cannot be charged until the merchandise is shipped.
I am sorry... That maybe my fault. After I gave him months to fix these issues he did it to a person I know in Texas. i gave him about a month to fix the issues after that.gbcop said:Just an update... Not like anyone is going to be overly shocked.. Myself included.. The wonderful gift certificate Alan issued.. Is about as worthless as a bump on a log. Anyone tried going to his website???
At least hopefully now that the site is gone, hopefully he won't be able to con anyone else out of their money. I'm just glad I got back most of money, which Unfortunately most people who've delt with Alan can say.

See I hosted all 7 of his sites. I was paid with a banner for one of the sites. The banner was not payment for the other 6. The one that was paid went past the year. I then had options as the service paid for was given.
I did not at first want to turn off his hosting as he could say he did not receive emails as his hosting was removed. I left it aslong as I could. But I had to make a choice and I turned them all off. Now no one else can send him money via my servers.
I do not agree with him doing this to anyone. I feel for you guys and wish I could do something. The best I could do was turn off his sites as we all know he is not sending out cages.........................
