I feel as if it's not right for me to steal bread off of a mans table by making him lose money.
I am not getting any free tortoises and that was never my intention. I read the rules but after thinking about it and praying, I feel as if it's not right for me to steal bread off of a mans table by making him lose money. If he continues his ways then he will only do that for himself. So if you could find it in your heart, please remove the post even though the rules say different.
Why would you want it to be removed? Joe Imperatori is a con artist and a criminal. This thread is a step in the right direction.
Joe,
I always thought that you were an honest guy, and you seemed like it, but the tortoise you sold me has extreme shell rot on the plastron.
Please give me a call, as I am very upset about this.
Ici
I sent you a perfect animal and you for some reason have started all of this! You are the only person I have ever sold an adult Sri to. I have had no problems with anyone else did not want to even sell this animal!!!! But, because "I thought we were friends " I helped you out as you pleaded with me to help you out. I had to ship the tortoise to an unknown person as you could not give me your address for 3 days (Which I thought was weird!) Even though I had people tell me not to deal with you, I over looked that as you were very nice up until now. Then, you preceeded to insinuate that I was dishonest! You are making an issue out of nothing. Sometimes the bottom of tortoises has some calcium build up and it can be scrubbed off. Regardless, I sent you a perfect and healthy animal with "PERFECT" shell growth!!!!! Now, I get to hear some of my fellow tortoise buddies say "I told you so!" I went out of my way to help you out and this is what I get to deal with. I am very confused as well. Not dealing with this anymore, going back to enjoy the rest of my vacation. This has been a most upseting experience to say the least. Joe...
Ici. What are you talking about? I sold you a perfect tortoise! I have had that animal since it was a hatchling. You told me everything was perfect and the tortoise was safe in your posession and now I get to hear that it has severe shell rot? Not to mention I was on "Vacation" and saw about 10 missed calls from you on my cel!. Part of any wear on the plastron is from the rubbing when a tortoise walks, lays, or mounts another female. I didn't even want to sell him but you practically begged me. This guy is a proven breeder and has a perfect shell. But please don't question my honesty! I try to help you out with your parents and get you out of a jam and this is what I get. You were talking about doing multiple deals and that is why I said- let's get through 1 deal first. Talk with you later, Joe...
Please note the repeated avoidance of the issue at hand-- the constant diverting of the main point (my shell-rotted animal that I received), and the use of ad hominem attacks when he no longer is able to disprove me. This is childish behavior at its best, and I'm absolutely thrilled that starry_night has taken the courage to punish this criminal. This guy should be put away in court, and should never be allowed to sell another tortoise again.

The buyer - who has given us no reason not to believe him - states several times that the Sri Lankan tortoise never touched the 20 gallon tank. Guess that's just another thing that you chose not to notice. I'd sure love to see something that supports the claim that the Sri Lankan was ever in the 20 gallon tank. Also, OP's Indian Star tortoise died due to the OP's improper packaging. Other than Joe's habitual attempts at deflecting blame, there's been no mention of the Indian tortoise having any kind of illness. It's just more misdirection. The other issue "Bad Guy" thread about me could have been rectified as well. Here is what happened in short. I sold a well started 3 month old Sri Lankan. Animal was placed and housed in an tank where a sick Indian had been kept. In fact, this person killed the Indian Star in shipment.
...I did not re-use the 20 gallon tank, I purchased a 40 gallon tank for ceylon and still have him in the 40 gallon and the 20 gallon is still on my back porch...
And? I bought the new 40 gallon aquarium to put ceylon in and that is what I've been using since the day I got him/her. The 20 gallon was for a much smaller tortoise.
It's interesting that he's now trying to claim that 30 days had passed before the parasite load was noticed and treated. It's especially interesting since it deviates from his own words, regarding the timeline.30 days later the animal caught parasites, was not taken to a Vet. But, was taken to a Vet. "school" in Louisiana where they could "practice" during class hours and was pumped full of drugs....
The tort was taken to the vet within 2 weeks, according to Joe's own words. I'm sure he'll try to explain it away as an honest mistake, but based on his low credibility rating, I'm inclined to believe that he's intentionally misrepresenting the situation to make himself look better.3rd. Tuesday March 17, 2009- Tortoise arrives safely at Jeremy's workplace in Baton Rouge, La. Jeremy sends me email confirmation that: " All is well and tortoise is doing fine."
4th. Almost 2 weeks have passed and no contact from Jeremy. It is now 3/30/09 and I get an email from Jeremy stating the tortoise is eating well and moving around good but his poop was a little soft. He states that he has just taken it in to the LSU Vet.
