• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Steve we must be neighbors. But it sounds like you aren't happy with your purchase? Just curious... Did the paperwork from Harrison come with any pictures? All the paper work, genetics guarantees, etc. I have gotten have pictures of the animals that I've purchased and some include the parents. I've heard that Harrisons paperwork only has the parents pictures? Hence the screw up in Katies order and the inability to figure out if she got the right ones. I'd be interested to know how she will remedy this with you. Also wondering if you were the Steve currently selling the het albino pair from Harrison on Reptibid?

Yes steve49, This is ridiculous, All I did was speak up for what I thought was a reputible transaction. Now I am getting smeared. Any time some one wants to check me out this stupid thread will show up.

Trying to Understand

Steve, you jumped on here with a blazing uzi in defense of Katie. Now you say that there was a "red flag", (2 month old snakes with 12 month papers)(red flag to me too!!!) involved in your transaction. You also stated in your first post several of the balls were gravid and about to be proved out. There was nothing in the Reptibid ad about any of the females being gravid, and you just got them a few days ago. Now we know who you are and who you are not. but there are some things missing...

I have a feeling that you are like me trusting, and that you have had good transactions with Katie in the past. I believe that even in the past Katie may have been legit and aside from getting screwed by Harrison she may well still be. Tho she does not have any right to pass on his animals as hets or possible hets if she does not believe that they are or in light of the fact that this guy is clearly scum, that would make her just as bad as Harrison. If it were me, I would request (prior to even purchasing one of these Harrison Hets) proof that she was in fact in Florida a plane ticket, hotel receipt anything that would verify proof she was one of the lucky few aside from "Chris" who have seen this 25 year old immaculate collection of snakes. It was very civalrous to stand up for her even tho she clearly took advantage of you, but it would have been better to state ahead there were red flags. I hope the previous hets you bought from her do prove out.

steve, it seems to me that you not only had questions as to the veracity of your snakes being hets but covered up for katie.

Why should anyone believe you now that you say you had reservations then but said nothing because you have some other deals in the works. Been there done that tooooooooo many times.

Come clean. What do you have? What do you know? What do you suspect? Do you now regret backing katie? Why?

Phone conversations don't mean squat. Put it in writing or go home.

You're suspect because of your own actions AND your lack of them. Suppose some other newbie got suckered because of what you said? That is every bit as likely as your hets being normals, which by the way, is HIGHLY.

Put out some real facts. Let's see copies of your invoices and any pictures you've gotten from harrison or katie. You would be surprised how quickly verification, or lack there of, can be had by posting pics. There are folks here with GREAT memories that peruse many different forums looking at who's got what for sale and when.

If you can't or won't provide the facts asked for, then you're right, your reputation will be tarnished. Did you expect otherwise when you backed katie on a deal you had reservations on yourself?

On the other hand, prove yourself an upstanding guy and you'll see the tide turn right quick like.

Well, I offerred $500 for the group but ONLY if I can use a postal money order. I want as much protection I can get. With a postal money order, the potential scammer faces stiff penalties if the goods are not delivered.

The way I figure is if I get them all for what I offered, I can keep a few of the females as future breeders and sell of the rest as normals. I figure $75 shipped for males and $100 shipped for females. This way if they are hets someone gets a bonus (even though I don't believe they are anything other than normals).

Come on Katie, my offer is fair for normals. How do I even know there are females in this group? (They may not even be females since the genetics are questionable)

I'm looking again at the auction and don't see where it says no postal money orders. It says she accepts paypal and money orders as long as they are overnighted on her account?

Also I offered up $100 for Harrisons address, be more than will to pay for it if I can have a volunteer go out and check out his facility. Any takers????

I am not defending her by any means. I wish that she would come here and defend herself. But NOWHERE in that listing does it say that she will not accept a Postal Money Order.

That she wants it overnighted by her carrier may be that she has been burned by promises in the past. I imagine that one or two people reading this thread has heard of that happening a time or twenty in transactions on the Internet.

But let's stick to the facts or lack thereof. There's enough of that to go around here.

Honestly Wes, I do not read it that way at all.

And frankly, I prefer PayPal for the reason I posted above. Pay me now or pay me...never??
 
It may also be that she is aware that if it is sent by USPS THEY will persue her for interstate fraud whereas fedex and ups don't care.

I don't read it that way at all. I prefer paypal simply because if the money's not there in 24 hours then I can assume it's not coming. If I were to accept a money order I would insist that it be shiped overnight via a trackable source. For those of us who buy and sell how many times have we heard the check is in the mail, I get paid on friday and will send the payment then, and the payment never comes. Lets not railroad her completely. She's made some bad choises, this doesn't appear to be one.
