I'm going into an industry (the medical field) where honesty and ethics are huge.
I began a deal with Kent and simply backed away because I felt like something wasn't right. Once I found out why it felt so off to me, it made sense (at least it did to me). However, I felt it necessary to let others know that his practices were a little unethical.
Hope you guys are boycotting your friend Samantha's "very good friend" El Guapo Reptiles too. They flipped this snake before your seller did. Ethics and all, you know?
I was making a point, Anothony, that the OP is being incredibly hypocritical here. Chillax.
I know. But to me it's just makes it look like I flip snakes. Which I do not agree with. I had her for a couple of months not 3 weeks.
Didn't know if you were trying to smear me.
Thanks for the clarification.
While I was pissed Kent did turn around and sell it 3 weeks later I didn't look to go out and smear his name.
I got that snake on a trade. I was going to raise her up to use as a breeder in the future but I like to keep my collection small so i decided to list her up.
Again this is not about me.So eight weeks is the magic number and three weeks makes you a disgusting flipper.
I wouldn't have put your name on it but do you see the point? The OP could have made this thread just as easily about you instead of Kent with the same information.
Not that it matters but none asked him why he was selling. Nobody has a right to be pissed that he is selling. You don't.
Did you ask him if he likes to keep is collection small too?
Playing Devils advocate below - I could care less that you decided to sell your snake.
So why did you get the snake if you like to keep your collection small? After all, you knew that you liked your collection small ahead of time or was it a mere revelation just two months later?
Does that make the difference? So why do we get to be pissed at Kent for selling and not you? Did you ask him if he likes to keep is collection small too?
Maybe he came to that revelation at three weeks instead of eight.
So did Kent need to wait eight weeks instead of three or did he need to tack on a note to all those interested in buying a statement like "My collection is to big I need sell her after a few weeks" and it magically becomes better? Would you not be pissed then?
You are concerned by your post above as being labeled a flipper and also stated your pissed but really, what did he do that you didn't?
Like I stated, I wouldn't have put your name up as a example, don't believe anyone here should be targeted but it is a very good example of what was just done to Kent.
I guess your definition of flipper is different than mine. Thats fine, I respect that.

I've already said that I don't have a lot or experience with the BOI and that in my efforts to help, I've made things worse. I've said I'm sorry. I've apologized. I've kicked myself over this. I don't understand what more you want me to do.
I actually was willing to pay the higher price because she IS a quality animal. I'm not saying she isn't high quality and I'm not saying she was unhealthy. I never said anything of that.
I'm of the opinion (and I would bet money that I'm not the only one with this opinion) that it's unethical to buy anything and without putting anything into it, turning around and selling it for higher than market value or selling it for more than was paid for it. I'm of this opinion with a lot of things (not just snakes). If I'm aware of it, I try to avoid supporting the practice.
I'm sure there are other breeders out there that do similar things and if I was aware, I would choose not to purchase for them. However, most of my snakes were bought from the original breeder because I prefer it that way. I would much rather pay a breeder for their hard work and effort in producing the animal than supporting a practice that I feel is not ethical (this can be extended from just flipping to be things like misrepresenting an animal's size or weight, giving incorrect information about the animal, etc.). I understand that some of you do not share my opinion, and I respect that. I don't expect everyone to be in my corner, in fact, I expect people not to be. I just wanted this out there for people who do share my opinion to have the info they need to decide whether or not to purchase.
