    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My point exactly Deb, reasonable doubt. If the same gecko in one location can vary as much as between pictures 1 and 2, who is not to say that the same gecko in picture 3 could not fire-up even more in a different location. Even at the three pics of the same gecko, pics 2 and 3 show a more similar colored gecko that picture 1 compared to either 2 and 3.

Brian, she told you in an email the Dalmation 1375 was worth $400.00? Could you post that email? She does have that gecko on her site (1375p) priced at $600.00.
 
Okay ... this was quickly done in PhotoShop, but I just want to give you guys an idea of how easy photo manipulation is. I would also like to state that it is possible to change EXIF information. I did not do it for this photo, but I can for the sake of arguement if i must.

This was done with a simple "dodge" tool. I am only showing this to prove that photo manipulation is not entirely out of the realm of the issue, even if the EXIF information was provided. Maybe the animal happened to fire up more because it was against a white background. Maybe it was washed out. Maybe it was edited in some other way. However, the fact remains, Kim told the buyer that the animal was almost always that color. Clearly, this was wrong.

WOW.....you can still see the pattern and skin texture with clarity......nice job......I can only imagine if you could accomplish with more time.

I think it's a pretty sharp looking gecko that you have shown interest in prior to all this mess. It may feel to you that "justice" isn't being done because she doesn't get "hurt" by the solution (ie: actually give up some of that money you paid)....but is that really the most important point here?

You can stand on principle and demand a refund of cash or nothing at all....and you can end up with nothing at all. OR...you can get a really nice gecko in addition to the one you already have. Is the pair of them worth $450? I don't know....but the pair of them is worth a heck of a lot more than the plain one by itself. ;)

Obviously it's up to you. We can talk all day about what we believe would be the "fair" or "just" solution...but in the end, such talk is powerless because she is set on her course. If I were in your shoes, I'd accept it and move on. The "hurt" you wish her to feel in losing the money you gave her will come in lost customers.
 
Tyler messaged me with an interesting point.

The tail patterns in the pic that Kim sent and the pic Brian took do not seem to match. It wasn't as noticible until I used the dodge tool. However, I am posting both pics, unedited, with red circles to be viewed and pondered on.

I think the gecko is the same. Look at the dorsal pattern, the nose rub is exactly the same and the tail appears to be the same to me. I had a gecko who could be almost white unfired, but fired he would be completely black. Most of the time he was in between. This gecko shouldn't have been labeled Moonglow, as Moonglows aren't supposed to change drastically at all.
 
Possibly, it may just be the angle, but the pattern on the tail does appear off to me. Then again, I'm not into geckos, so markers are not my expertise. I was just posting because it was enough to make me wonder.

Ok I do have to point out one thing though, what if you hate dalmatian spots on a gecko? I personal hate them lol. So I can see how that as a replacement would not be something I would be happy with, especially when the original gecko did not have spots ether. The tail issue is neither here nor there imo because it does not effect the value of the gecko. Cosmetically yes that might be important to some, but it is not to me not that that matters much in this case.

I agree the only two real solutions would be a replacement of your choice, (with or without the original gecko being sent back, thats up to you two) or cash.

I agree with this as well, but at this point, I do not feel it is realistic. Kim is making it rather clear she has no intention of offering any further compensation, even if she should. No matter how this ends, at this point, however, Gorgeous Geckos is likely going to lose some customers based on pride and ego alone.

It's really ridiculous, honestly. Of all the things she has for sale on that site and the average of the prices, I am stunned that 150.00 in cash return (what he asked for) was such a huge deal to her.

Bottom line, she has poor business practices and does not believe ethics should be involved with it. She feels that her TOS are the final and absolute word on everything. This makes for a very greedy and very shameful person, in my honest opinion. Not someone who is worth doing business with at all.

I am not wishing her to be hurt by this, just wishing she would take responsibility for her actions. And i dont see the dalmatian as a good offer, because her geckos are way over priced, there is one who is as good a quality if not better for sale on this site right now for $100.

I was actually wondering that myself as I was reading her TOS earlier. Her claim for not receiving this gecko back was because she did not know if it had contracted something.

Kinda' contradictory.
