In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Default Rules
Trade section Rules

1. You must post a price for your item(s) or specific trade offers. Price AND OBO is permitted.
Pictures of the items are no longer required however they will greatly increase your chance of selling an item. We highly recommend that buyers request pics of any item that they are considering for purchase. As per the general forum rules the photos should not be more that 800 pixels wide.

2. Re-Directs are not allowed, in other words you cannot simply post check out my site www.cresteds4sale.com . Website URL's are allowed only in your signature line and not in the body of the ad. (Paid advertisers who are running a banner on this site are allowed to post redirects, website updates, etc, in the trade section and in their signatures.)

3. USE THIS SECTION AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PEOPLE ADVERTISING HERE ARE LEGITIMATE. YOU, THE USER, ASSUMES ALL RISK AND LIABILITY, WHEN BUYING OR SELLING ITEMS HERE!

4. You must be in good standing within the reptile community to post here. If you want to inquire about or check out any breeders or individuals the Fauna Board of Inquiry is the place to do it.

5. You may only post ads for products or animals that are owned by you, and in your possesion. No 3rd party sales please.

6. You may bump your ad twice but then must allow it to fall!

7. When posting a sold notification, please edit your original post, instead of replying.

8. Please limit your ads to TWO a day. (Bumps also count toward the limit of 2)

10. Ads for products and live animals may be posted only by hobbyists and not by web site based retailers. Please do not advertise any products that directly compete with the products sold here on this website. If you are a full scale business, and not a hobbyist you will need to purchase a forum sponsorship in order to post any trade ads.

Violations will be deleted without warning. Please don't take it personally, we are simply enforcing the rules.

If you notice a violation that we missed, please pm me or one of the mods.
Thanks!

This seems to be a recent trend....small time breeders trying to act like big, fancy corporations. Be it their rediculous terms of service, or their lack of quality customer care, I seem to see it happening more and more.

I like to talk to my customers 1 on 1, and let them know I'm an actual person that cares about them, and will do whatever it takes to give them the quality service they deserve.

Much to his credit, Matt Parks took all her ads down at Pangea once he became aware that she has an unresolved Bad Guy rating here.

His rule is, if you're in trouble on the BOI, you can't post in his Trades section.

He runs a tight ship, and doesn't want other members bring grief to his site.

One more reason I LOVE Pangea!!

:yesnod:

She's posting on Pangea again, I wonder if Matt lifted his ban...

Mostly its the 4-5 ads a day she runs bumping everyone else off the page constantly that bothers me.

Question:

I have cruised through many of the pages on here to try to understand the situation. I don't mean to bring it up again, I have nothing against either party, but did the original person who claimed that this happened ever post photos of the olive gecko like many people asked, in the same position as the white gecko, so we could justify that it actually was the same gecko?

The white gecko seems to have some sort of spot on its nose, like an injury. Every photo taken of the olive gecko that I saw was of the back of the gecko and not really a face on photo so we could see his nose. I understand that some injuries heal, but sometimes there is still a slight scar even if the image has to be altered with exposure or something to make it stand out more.

I have personally compared the gecko i received to the pics i was sent, and based on both the scar on his nose and the patterning on his tail, I'm sure it is the same animal.

I understand that you have viewed the pictures she sent you and compared them to the gecko "you received," but now that you have brought it to the BOI I hope you understand that people could possibly think that you are claiming a different gecko as being the white one she sent you since you kinda avoided not posting more thorough pics of the olive one (in the same position) so we could all compare it ourselves.

We have a gecko that kind of has the same scar, not sure what from, but it seems to be kind of a common scar as I have seen a few other geckos that have had that.

Wow Kodie!!!! I guess all the crestie owners, with tens thousands of geckos between us, misdentified this 1 gecko.....Brian, you are a master photoshopper and consumate conartist....how dare you mislead an entire community......shame on you. And I guess I was seeing things at the NARBC Show.......she didn't have ANY geckos with scared up stubby tails....(lol, I actually did not have the time to count them all their were soo many)

To clarify, "stubby" does not mean "dropped"....she had a bunch of those also.....I mean missing 10-60% of its tail from some sort of trama.

lol Hey, who knows. I'm not accusing. :)

You haven't unfortunately met people in your past that would have done something like that? I can think of a few people I've met, that would go out of their way to get around a situation and make up a big story so they could get more than what they paid for. lol Can't say it didn't cross my mind as a possibility. You can't trust everyone.

I would still purchase from Altitude Exotics and Gorgeous Gecko regardless of this mishap here.

Matt Parks, of Pangea, was helping at her table? Really? I thought he usually had his own Pangea table at shows?

they were at the same booth. maybe they were sharing tables? i did see some pangea merchandise, but the banner and tables were covered with kims business info and geckos. all of her geckos looked great though and it was nice to meet and speak with matt.

Considering the market for crested geckos, there is zero reason to be anything less than truly stellar with all of your customer relations.

TOS such as those are uncalled for in any market, in fact I'v seen better from folks flipping WC animals, your TOS put you below, well below that area of our industry.

In my opinion, when you are selling animals for well over 40 times their production cost each and every animal as well as transaction should be 100% flawless.

When your able to get there, 100% complete animals, 100% uninjured, and 100% as represented, plus a TOS that states "100% customer satisfaction", I'll consider you a better person.

At this point, you represent all that is bad in this industry. It's such a shame.

Wow. That took me forever to read. I have to say that I personally will never purchase from Gorgeous Geckos after this ad, and it's really too bad because I'm focused on Super Dal's at the moment and Kim has had some nice ones in the past that I was interested in.

It took me a while to read too. I am on the side of the buyer. The gecko obviously looks completely different. I wonder if the pictures she took the gecko was in shed? Looks like a scam to my. Not sure how someone can continue to believe they are innocent when clearly they sold something completely different from their photos. And geeze wouldn't you want to do all you can to make your customers happy? What is wrong with giving a refund and have the buyer ship the gecko back... I mean damn.. it's not a big deal. Quarantine the damn thing for a couple months.. geeze. How hard is it to keep a gecko in another room away from your collection... wow so damn hard! I very much doubt I'll be buying from her.

Put me down as a 100% happy customer of Kim over at Gorgeousgecko.com, I've had my red male for close to a year and a half and he's been wonderful. I will not hesitate to purchase from her again.

Anyone who keeps crested geckos knows that these guys experience radical color changes. I have geckos who go MONTHS looking a particular shade, and then one day the gecko that looked as red as an apple for some reason is as pale as an irish vampire. If Kim said she rarely saw the gecko in question fired up, it was probably true.

From my experience receiving geckos, shipping is a surefire way to see a gecko fired up.

For reference with regards to gecko color changes, this girl fires up to be surprisingly close to the same shade of brown as the OP's first gecko pictures back in page 1

I don't hear you claiming that your gecko is a Moonglow either........the, "radical color change" you speak of only happens as the gecko is growing and once matured does not change......the OP received an Olive adult gecko and that color won't change.

I am a bit shocked that Kim has such a lax opinion of this situation. In my personal opinion she is not some type of scammer. I do feel she is guilty of having very poor customer service.

I don't see why she couldn't

a) take the animal back for a refund at his cost and maybe a fee for taking a animal back that has been exposed to other conditions where she had to quarantine it.

b) Offer a exchange at the buyers expense

c) That gecko is not worth what he paid and could of maybe tried to meet half way on a price that gecko would be worth so he didnt feel like he was ripped off?

d) i think it was very nice of him to ONLY ask for $150 back out of that large sum. Why not honor it you still turned a profit!

Seems like a classic case of a misunderstanding on the quality of the gecko and she didnt make it better by acting the way she did.

In response to the "radical color change" idea. I have now had this boy in my care for almost a year, and he has never once, not once showed a color anything close to the color i was mislead to believe when i purchased him. Anyone who works with crested geckos knows, as a crested gecko grows up the color can indeed change radically. However a full grown adult gecko does not suddenly completely change its colors permematly. This gecko never was and never has been what it was represented to be when i bought it.
