While I (duh) realize that men and women are in fact, different; I think that equal opportunity is a good idea. Which means, also, equal responsibility, so those of the female persuasion cannot wimp out giving the excuse that the 'lawnmower doesn't fit their hands'.
However, I think that men sometimes have an advantage in that guys talk to other guys about certain subjects (other than sex) which they may not bring up in normal conversation with women.
Lawn equipment, for instance. For the longest time, I have been using a Black and Decker rechargeable electric string trimmer. The other day, at a garage sale, I picked up a John Deere gas trimmer; took it home, cleaned it up, put fresh gas/oil in and it is SMOKIN! No one ever told me that the rechargeable is a pussy-wimp underpowered piece of crud compared to a good gas trimmer.
I am not complaining, really; after all, learning is a lifelong process; but, if you have daughters, wives or girlfriends, it might be good to share some of this info. Now I know there are some guys who take great pleasure in keeping a great looking yard, or building stuff with power tools, and etc. and that is terrific; I am not saying we need to all use every bit of knowledge we have, and if two people like dividing up their responsibilities a certain way and they are both happy, fine; but I think knowledge is power, and if I had known about gas trimmers earlier, I could have done my yardwork faster, easier, and better.
What do y'all think about
1) Division of labor and
2) Learning stuff you might not use?
