In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Leonard Giordano of Salty City Aquariums(Bad Guy)

I stand corrected, both of the geckos Leonard gave me are in his ad on kingsnake. They are both in the same photo, the second one on kingsnake and the first photo in snakeman's post. If you look at the red marks on the back of both in my photos and in his photos, you will see they are the exact same. By the way, Leonard has not tried to call me since last night before I met him. Anyone who is familiar with the Nextel i880 will know that in the recent calls list, each name only shows up once, the most recent call, and that call was at 8:37 pm 11/3 for 51 seconds, this is an outgoing call while I was in the parking lot waiting for him. So, this is proof I have not been ignoring his calls.

the first two sets are both through plastic containers, the wire is the cage they are being kept in, I moved them into the smaller plastic containers so I would have a clear shot of the vent areas. The last set was of the top of the geckos so there was no need to place them in a plastic container.

If you only have one ADULT FEMALE for sale, then I would like a refund of $75 plus her, if she is an adult female, in an even trade for the original two you gave me.

My rare 2 cents

I usually read this type of thread and avoid posting my opinion... and, I prob. should this time as well... But, here it goes...

I am in no way commenting on who is right or wrong here, but if I were in your shoes Leonard I would just take back your animals, give a full refund, and walk away from this deal... Something tells me that even if you replace the animals in question, some other "issue" will surface..

As we all know sometimes herp deals just don't work out, and in this case it's just not worth the relatively small amount of money to deal with this any further.

Just my opinion!

The bottom line is I ordered two adult female grandis, I got one male and one young gecko. Im not sure what other kind of issue would arise, I am just making sure I get what I paid for or my money back however I can.

Like i said.. it's just my opinion. I don't know either of you guys personally and i am in NO WAY commenting on who is right or wrong or faulting you or Leonard.

I just think that some deals are better off ending and since Grandis Gecko's are pretty easy to come by these days, i think you will both be better off parting ways.

Sorry if you disagree with my opinion..

I know they are pretty easy to come by, but I wanted to stay kind of local and pick them up so there wouldn't be as much stress on the animals, like I said before, I just want this to be made right, whether its with adult females or a refund, and since the error was on his part I feel that he should cover the costs to make it right, whether it's gas to bring me an exchange or the cost of shipping.

Good for you Jake, but some other guy or gal can jump in anytime and say you did it that way to avoid shipping costs because you're just a cheap bastard, not that you are, but who really knows what your true intention was? Was it for the sake of the animals or the savings on shipping costs? You didn't even inspect the bags upon receipt from Leonard as you've clearly stated. With a bonafide bad guy you should feel lucky you didn't have two rocks in a couple of sacks.

But that isn't how it is.

How it is..is.....

You've made Leonard out to be some kind of scumbag bad guy unwilling to work things out with you. It obvious thats not the case and he wants to make things right with you. Thats more than you should need to quit posting to this thread and get with the man on PM or email to schedule an exchange or refund for what you initially received.

Not inspecting the animals because they are in bags is a load of crap.

I picked up 2 blood pythons a while back and met the guy to make the deal. Both were in bags with zip ties on them. I made sure the bags were opened BEFORE any money changed hands. Good thing too since one that was supposed to be puppy dog tame tried to rip me a new one as soon as the bag was opened.

Something just doesn't seem right here.

I don't buy the argument that you couldn't look at the animals since they were in a bag and you have posted so many different photos, I don't think you even know what you got from Leonard.

I agree with Mike on this one. Best to just end this deal by giving a refund and driving to him to take the animals back. This deal has those bad vibes all over it.

Jacob, first off I would like to say that while I keep geckos I do not personally keep phelsuma but I'm pretty sure that females of this species also have femoral pores, they are just not as pronounced as a male's. It's also hard to judge the presence of a hemipenes without a side-shot of the gecko.

The male you posted that has been in your collection is a perfect representation of what the underside of a male day gecko should look like. What you are referring to as "retained shed" looks to me like the enlarged scale ridge I have seen in person or in any other photograph of a male day gecko's ventral area, as it seems to overlap the other scales.

The alleged female you purchased from Leonard looks to be female to me, but I'm hoping someone who has a little more experience with day geckos pipes up to prove or disprove this. I'd just hate to see someone hastily labeled a "bad guy" over a wrongly missexed gecko if the buyer actually got what he payed for.

i would just like to say that when i sold animal here a few uroplatus a few weeks ago all went smooth and he was very understanding and agreeable.
everything went off without a hitch and had no complaints

SPJ,

Would those blood pythons behave as a day gecko while in a bag? Your response was crap by the way and I am sorry you feel the need to bash someone in need of getting his fair deal. I have sold to Jake with no problems. He might be wiser next time, but then again we all learn the hard way due to so many scams, not to say this was but I do trust Jake in my experiences and hope the exchange can be reversed for everyones sake. Shame on those who can lie over a few bucks...chump change guys :NoNo:

Sorry, let's try this again:

Leonard, do you have any better pictures of the gecko on the left in the second pic? From that angle it's kind of hard to make out the markings.

You are an idiot. And so is anyone that picks up an animal and doesn't inspect it because it "is in a bag".

That is a pure BS argument. I don't give a :censored: if it's a python, day gecko, leopard gecko, or your mother in the bag. You met in person., There is no excuse for not looking over the animals at that time.

it was about an hour and twenty minute drive one way to meet Leonard, the whole round trip spent 3/4 of a tank of premium gas or about $50, very close to the cost of shipping, so there goes that theory.

day geckos are completely differnet from snakes. First, you can't handle them because they are fast and get stressed easy and may drop a tail and second if i tried to handle them to look they probably would have bolted. All of the photos I have posted have been through plastic or screen, I have never held them, even when moving from cage to cage.

My male does have shed on his pores, Leonard himself said males have a fingernail like thing protruding from the pores for scent marking, which is clearly visible in the picture of the male from him. I exchanged about twenty emails with him the night I got back trying to get a refund or exchange before I ever posted in this forum, and he completely denied they were male and said they were female. Once I posted on here, he has slowly started to consider an exchange/refund. My intentions were never to make him out as a scumbag, I just told the truth on here to try to get my money back which I paid for ADULT FEMALES.
