    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What are some good ways to light PVC cages for ball pythons and leopard geckos? I bought the cages eight years ago, so choosing lighting and letting the builders install isn't an option. I'm currently looking at color-switchable LED light strips, so that I can choose between using red and white light (cleaning is easier with full spectrum), but I'd like to hear what you all have done to light your cages.

I realize that nocturnal reptiles don't need light, but it's helpful during feeding time, to check quickly on everyone, and when I need to clean the cages. My house doesn't have a lot of ambient light.

Good Idea!

I didn't think of using the led light strips. I imagine that you could run the strips along the bottom corner along the wall of each rack slot. It wouldn't be the most efficient, but if you had a white rack, more light would be reflected into the tub.

I would imagine you could also rout out a slot and and light each tub with an led from above.

I use a blue "moonlight" LED strip I purchased from Dr. Foster & Smith online. It was around $10 and I use it for transition lighting during the evening/night. One 3 bulb LED strip lights a 36 x 24 x14 enclosure quite well.
