In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am sure that is offensive to any of our Jewish members here on Fauna, but what exactly does it mean?

I'm not Jewish, and I still found it offensive. There was nothing funny or witty about it...

As far as LLL, I've ordered supplies from them and was happy. I wish they would be more willing to provide backgrounds on animals if requested (not breeder names or anything, just info). I probably won't purchase a snake from them again, but would still buy more supplies.

Second thread started by HHH here (Flop)

It was very pleasant, I will do business with them again.

I think a lot of people either forget or don't know the difference beween a breeder and a "dealer". Both of course have their benefits.

Next, I started to unpack the female amel. Before I'd even opened the container, I was like.. "Wha... What on earth is this?" Her tail looked like it had been through a microcrimper, and she had a deep dent near her vent (but on the top side). She's at the vet as we speak, and I'll be picking her up at 2:30 (it's 10:45 now). I did take pictures with my phone, but (for some reason) I was unable to send them to my email address. I got a message back on my phone saying something about "unbearable carrier" or some mumbo jumbo.

I have a few questions. I just finished reading the thread you started about this experience on CS. It is so dramatically different on a few key points that I think some clarification on your part is in order.

The above is from your first post in this thread. This is your first post on CS.

Sooo, I got my snakes from 3L today, and lovely little things they are! I snagged a yearling (or so) female amel motley for $30, which ain't bad at all if you ask me. Still, the ghost male is my favorite. He has one heck of an appetite for having crossed the whole country with the temperature in the negatives. I know you shouldn't feed them the first day, but he was giving me puppy dog eyes and I had a litter of hour-old mouslets just begging to be swallowed. The female thinks she's alot bigger than she is. She sent the cat soaring through the air (almost broke through the ceiling) and she has the dog really concerned atm. They arrived snug and warm in their box with handwarmers and popcorn all around. I've never been happier.

It wasn't until more than 24 hours later that you made a post that there was something wrong with the snake. After you had it out with the cat, dog climbing on enclosure branches and being exposed to whatever else is in your environment.

I might have to post a pic of atleast one of them, because I think there's something wrong with her.

She's got a 'dent' looking thing on her tail, and the very tip is extremely kinky. It's the dent I'm real worried about though. She did just have a meal which was almost too big for her (about the maximum recommended size).

Taking pictures is a multiple-hour process with my modern technology, so can anyone think of anything this might be before I go to the trouble?

If this could be something serious, I'd just as soon take her to the vet. ll not be buying from these people again.

You reported that you were happy with your transaction and the snakes were fine. You then stated here five days later that ...

I called per your suggestion, Mike, and quoted, word for word, is my conversation with the (male) phone answerer guy. I'm in bold. (I stutter sometimes, I wanted this to be as realistic as possible.)

Hello, this is triple L reptiles.

Hi, I have a question about a snake I received on Tuesday.

Okay.

I ordered an albino juvenile.. Uh, female.. And a male ghost... Hatchling.

Oh.. Cornsnakes? Er..

Yep.

Okay.

The male is a very lovely snake, and I was pretty impressed (with him).. But the female, when I took her out, she had a big dent in her back... Uh, her tail..

(Surprised tone) Oh, really? Usually...

Yeah, but it looks like an old injury from... Uh, a lid... From being closed in a lid or something.

Oh really? Usually we check them over pretty well before sending them out.

Well, I'm just... Uh, the sales rep knew I wanted them for breeding so.. Uh, I just wanted to know if it was an injury or.. Uh, congenital, you know?

Okay. Yeah, it sounds like an injury, but...

Yeah, I thought so. She's at the vet right now, so...

Oh. Okay. Well, if there's any nerve damage, let us know.

Yeah, she doesn't seem to... Uh, it doesn't seem to hinder her much. She likes to climb and stuff.. So..

Okay. That's really good, but be sure to call if there's a problem.

I'm not too worried about it, but I'll let you know how everything.. Uh, how it all goes.

Okay, I'll talk to you soon.

Alrighty. Bye.

Bye.

Sounds like a good guy to me, after all!

I was told that it was absolutely impossible that my snake had a kink in its tail. Considering I noticed the kink while she was still slithering around in her delicup, it couldn't have been due to my handling. Honestly, I can't think of anything that would cause a kink this.. Jagged, sharp? It looks like someone stuck her tail in a micro-crimper. The dent was the thing that concerned me more, because I see snakes with kinky tails all the time.

They offered me no.. Anything.. Concerning the dent. The attitude I received was "It's not our problem anymore." So, little Rose is going to the vet tomorrow afternoon, and I do believe she will suffice as a lovely little pet for the time being. Yeah, I don't really want to be one of those people who breeds defective snakes and lets their new owners deal with it. She's a very beautiful girl. Amelanistic with a gorgeous motley pattern. I'm proud to have her in my collection regardless of her fertility, even if she was bought to be bred.

The two reports are so drastically different that I think it warrants some clarification.

Man, do you just make things up as you go along?

It is two completely different stories you are telling on both threads.

Rose just had her first meal since I got her (yay!) and she wolfed it down like a Holocaust victim. What a trooper!

Someone else posted.
Feeding on the first day was probably not a good idea. Stressing them to take pics is an even worse idea. Give them a week to settle in with no handling or other interruptions..

You feed her on the first day you got her.

Hey Dennis, I kinda did the
Readers Digest condensed version of his flip/flops in post #22. Anyway if you're looking for a straight or half honest answer from him, you will have to look further. If you're looking for drama and insults, you've addressed the correct "character".

It means she was really hungry because she hadn't eaten in a while. Probably how the Holocaust survivors felt when they got out of the camps.

I understand the reference, but since it wasn't used as an insult to anyone, I don't see how it'd be offensive. But I'm not known for my good vision.

That is an inappropriate comment, and since you KNEW it was bad * by your second sentence below* You should not have posted it. But i have a feeling you do so for the attention.

Shows what kind of a person you truly are though. Disgusting.

I had a bad experience with buying a reptile from them... but I have no problem buying supples and dry goods.

I ordered a herp last February.... they shipped it FedEx but it wasn't priority or early delivery..... It was end of the day delivery..... they also got the address wrong(I double checked and I sent them the proper address)... they shipped it to a house down my street..... So it sat outside on this guys front porch in the cold until he got home and called me at 8 PM...... the snake ended up being OK... but shipping priority next day is the industry standard and the service I was told I was getting.... I wont ever order animals from them

I had a terrible experience with them when I attempted to purchase feeder crickets. I ordered 3000 crickets on January 5 in the afternoon, well before their cut off for same week shipping. I received the crickets on January 15th after 4 emails, 2 of which never received a reply, and 3 phone calls. The crickets were the wrong size - I had ordered 4 week crickets and these were barely more than pinheads - and more than 3/4 of them arrived dead. The heat packs I had paid for were not present in the box. I immediately attempted to contacte LLL reptile by phone, but only got their voicemail. I attempted 3 calls the day I got the crickets and 4 calls the next day. They finally returned my call on January 19 and said they would reimburse my card for half of the cost of the crickets. Not exactly good business, but I figured something was better than nothing. It is now February 5th and the credit still has not been applied to my card. I've called twice and have been told it would happen within 24 hours so I'm quite sure it's not going to happen.
I will never do business with these people again, and will never recommend them to anyone.

I have dealt with LLL quit a bit, Lauren and Skillet are great guy's and I would be shocked if they do not take care of any problems you may have with their animals. just my 2 cents.

good guys!

I bought 2 adult female bearded dragons, and an adult male albino corn snake from LLL Reptile. Their prices were great, and the animals are in excellent health! I will definitely buy from them again!
