    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

A few months ago I inquired of them about 1.1 baby albino burmese pythons. I get a phone call from them a few days later wanting to know when I am going to pay for the snakes. I guess they wanted me to believe they had aquired a pair based on my inquiry. They had several ads on KS for $115.00 each. They said that the price was wrong and the burms were $145.00 each. I tried to hold them to the $115.00 price and the person on the phone got pretty rude with me. I will NEVER do any business with them based on that experience. I have talked with other folks here in Texas about So Cal and they pretty much feel the same way as I do.

I just recently was looking for feedback and found nothing good or bad about them so I went ahead with my purchase of 1 orange creamsicle corn and 1 snow corn not alot of money(60.00) but I didn't want to get ripped off. I called on Friday and spoke with the gentleman that called himself Joe, He told me to PAYPAL the money and he would ship out on Tuesday. The entire weekend went by Monday I called back and spoke with the same Guy regarding my purchase and wanting to know why nobody had contacted me regarding my shipping info. They said"I don't know if we can ship because the snakes you purchased are eating and we have to wait for them to shed and poop before we ship, well I can propably still ship on Tuesday". I waited and today contacted them again to find out if they shipped they said" our manager had a baby this morning and it threw us out of wack for the day, I will ship tomorrow for a Thursday delivery". Oh by the way I informed them that my wife took Wednesday off to be here for the shipment and was told to tell her they are sorry it was nature that caused them not to ship today and she should be happy that it is supposed to be nice tomorrow anyway. It is one excuse after another and this WILL be the last business I do with them and recomend everyone else think before they buy from these people unless you have time and money to throw away.

Oh almost forgot the e-mail from his patner James wanting to know how many snakes we wanted and when we would pay. And the e-mail that said " yeah I got the info already OK"

Complete waste of time.

I am happy to see that So Cal Reptile did not make a liar out of me. I have delayed shipping due to feeding before. I fed the snake Saturday, sold it Sunday and waited until Wednesday to ship. This was prearranged and agreed upon by the customer for the benefit of the snake. I have also taken off from work to recieve a herp via UPS/Fed Ex. Fortunately the box showed up on time. It would really SUCK taking off work and waiting at home for a box that did not come. Have the cornsnakes shown up yet? Tracking #? Stay on top of them until they ship. Then warn others of your experience.

what happens with your deal with socal reptiles. I called them to inquire about some cornsnakes. James Sheridan called me back and told me that the snakes were going to be shipped from florida, the reason I was interested is because I thought they were in southern california and I would rather pick them up. The thing that scared me away is that he was asking for my cc# before we had even agreed to a deal. I kept my money.

I inquired a couple months back got no replies. I emailed them also got no replie for a week or i so. i also asked about pick up.
No go. I have seen ads on KS for balls and on the website they are out of stock for 2 or 3 weeks. to flacky for my money

Here is a summary I typed up and created an online album in regards to my experience with them. This was in preparation to go to war and it finally got their attention. For those that already know me, I am an extremely passive "gym rat". This guy had lit my fuse and I was seeing red HERE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. Supposedly they were attending IRBA shows in the area passing out cards and trying to get themselves out there to the public. They can sure skip my table, I don't even want to put faces with names or company affiliation. Here is the text with a link to the pics:


12/11/2003- I initially placed an order with Shawn for 2.2 NB's as posted on kingsnake. You called me back ten minutes later telling me you posted them at a wrong price and it was now a higher amount. I changed my order to 1.1 and you said you would include free shipping for the mistake, I agreed. I gave my Visa card number and Shawn was to give me an authorization code the next day.

12/12/2003-Shawn called and left a message on my cell phone in the morning so I called him back. He explained that you had decided to not include shipping after all and I still agreed to purchase the pair. Shawn was going to hand pick my pair from the lot himself in Florida to provide me the best available. He gave me my authorization code of 010694 for the amount of $394 and he was to fax me an invoice. The invoice never came.

12/18/2003-I heard nothing back all week and they were to be shipped to me on the 15th. I called and you told me they went out. I waited for my package with no information(carrier, tracking #, etc.)

12/19/2003-I called back and you told me UPS would not ship due to the weather and that you would get back with me in regards to the shipping.

12/22/2003-Hearing nothing back from you I called and you said they shipped, I expected a package the next day.

12/23/2003-Nothing arrived so I called, you said they shipped and you would call me back and get me the tracking number. No call back, but I waited for a package.

12/24/2003-Nothing arrived so I called you late, about 6:30pm. You seemed confused and said you would get back to me. Never heard back.

12/27/2003-I emailed and you emailed me back giving me a tracking number and stated that they shipped on the 23rd. I ran the tracking number and it showed they were sent UPS GROUND. You said that was the same as overnite and I should have received them. I politely disagreed since I ship quite often and called UPS the next day. They weren't supposed to arrive until January 5th.

12/31/2003-I hear nothing back from SCR until New Years Eve, an email from you asking me if I had received them.

1/2/2004-I call and speak to Shawn. He does some quick research, sees that he made the mistake and apologizes. Tells me to call when they arrive.

1/5/2004-Today they arrive right on schedule from UPS, DOA, fourteen days later. A shame too, they were great looking snakes. Although even deceased, I could determine that they were actually both males.

1/5/2004-Where we stand now ??????

1/21/2004-About half a dozen phone calls and another half a dozen emails later my credit card was finally credited back the amount this date. This ranks up there as one of the worst transactions I have ever experienced.

Man hearing stories like this really pisses me off. How hard is it to run an honest, decent business now a days? It's absolutely ridiculous....

What is there to defend? They suck. They have not a clue about customer service or herps. I would steer folks away from them just for the lack of customer service. Now I hear they ship snakes in cold weather via UPS ground. What a buch of dummies. Loose the inventory, shipping, and have to refund the customer's money. That is not the way to stay in business. I think they won't be around much longer...

The few dealings i've had with them. I wouldn't trust them or buy anything from them. But they have a right to defend themselves. If it was my business and what was being said wasn't true i would have replied. i think a lack of response from them says a lot. Find somebody honest to do business with.

They do have a new website. can't find anything which may be a good thing. less chance of someone being able to place an order. One of the worst websites i have ever seen.

REFUND

They sent my money back today after I called I don't even know how many times. I was told that the corperate head quarters had refunded my money back to my account but I called back within 5 minutes to inform them that the refund hadn't gone through and he(JOE) asked me to tell him how to use PAYPAL????

LOL I was informed that since I posted on them and told everyone everything they were not sending me anything.. I guess that will help their case ..
 
i also had a feeling about them

Early last year and late this year, I inquired on several different animals, totalling a good bit of money, they didnt reply until i tried a few times, even at the point of sarcasm, like "hello..... you do want to sell these snakes....right?" that sort of stuff. Any how eventually I got into an email debate, they said it was from captive parents, and they were cb. After a week of delays on getting the paperwork, they supposedly had ,or were getting, I put them on the old DO NOT BUY FROM!!!!! list. They did email me stating that the "animals" sold, although I think they realized I had no interest at that point as I was very ery suspicious . Hey - good luck with them. I wouldnt throw them as far as I could trust them-oh oops yeah the other way around. lol

When i contacted them about having a store that i could pick up at. I got the impression that they work out of their house.
Maybe corporate headquarters is mom and dad.

The worst problem with people like socal reptile is they prey on the inexperienced. Anyone who knows anything about buying reptiles online will come to the BOI and check up on the seller but alot of uninformed people may stumbe upon kingsnake and get burned by guys like socal in their first experience. The guy always posts tons of stuff on there so people may mistake them for big time reptile dealers when really they are just selling a bunch of crap. As much wild caught snakes, lizards and spiders as they sell everything they have has probably been crosss contaminated. I would not buy anything from them if they were the only reptile dealers on the west coast. I prefer to buy everything from actual breeders. That company is making the rest of us look bad.

I apeal to all of you out there who have started their own business and know the difficulty of keeping every one happy. We have plenty of happy customers that you don't hear from because their playing with their new animals and the new custom cages we shipped with them!

The only problems that are being aired below are due to people who have been burnt by other people and don't have the patience to let us get your animal to you. A recent act of god stopped our shipping for a few days, and now we come to read all this hysterical negativity on this forum.

We don't want any negative slander on any fourms. The people who choose to do so, are showing a bit of jealousy.... at Socalreptile, we are professionals and experts in the business, thats a fact!! The potential customers that want to do business with us, feel free to do so. We promise it will be a great experience. :)
