In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Lou Rodrigues, Designer Ball Pythons also on Kingsnake.com

kevin read the thread he has stated that he missed the first attempt, that is not being disputed.

How about if the afternoon heat spikes to 85 or 90 like he said and it was in a box on a truck with A heat pack. at 9:07 am in New Jersey on thursday it was 69 degrees. he did not get the package till 2:47 Est over five hours later according to my UPS emails.

Lou when I called you I had told you that I didnt receive a knock, ring, or note on my door saying I missed the first attempt. All I received was an email straight to my phone saying you missed the first attempt. I immediately called them and asked them to bring it right back that I had been home and they said later on they would come back. I would of picked it up but they still had it on the truck. Last time this happen and it happened once, UPS didnt even come down my street because they claimed snow had prevented the driver and you know they did they sent me an email saying I missed the first attempt. So because the driver doesn't come to my house yet logs it in the system as a failed attempt its my fault?

According to AccuWeather.com my temps for

Monday - 78*
Tuesday - 79*
Wednesday - 73*

Now it was supposed to be delivered Tusday morning but didnt arrive till Wednesday morning.

How hot do you suppose it got since my temps were 10* hotter than yours? My animal was packaged correctly and arrived fine. Therefore I have to question the 3 heat packs in the box.

Also... the hot spots for all my ball pythons are in the 90* range. Once again... I cant see 4 hours extra killing the python if it was packaged properly.

i have shipped to many people all through UPS and have never had this happen. NEVER. Ask anyone i ever did business with and also ask them if i ever put more than 1 heat pack in. put a thread calling on all people i have done business with. you are the only one who missed the delivery and, oh big surprise, got 2 bonus heat packs.

idk kevin you have great luck. good for you and much more your way. i get what your trying to say but i assure you that i did not place three heat packs in with that animal. its your right to question and i repect that, but i truly hope that you never have a bad experience like this with being the shipper or the buyer.

I'm sorry, but given the way the buyer continued to twist things as they were shot down, I don't believe for a second that there were three heat packs in that box. For what it's worth, he did mention that he received another snake the day before, and there is another box shown in one or two of those pictures on the other thread. Those heat packs are easy to come by. I have some used shipping boxes I'm waiting to break down and can go dig out several of those exact ones to toss in a box and take pictures of.

If you'd gotten the animal on the first delivery attempt, you'd have a leg to stand on if it arrived dead. It doesn't matter if you didn't hear the attempt, it was made and you missed it. No one to blame. But yourself. Why not just accept your fault there? You're out the money, but if he refunds you he's got no cash and no snake on a problem that you yourself created. How's that fair? He offered you a replacement at a very discounted price, you should have taken it. All this talk of bad business? I wonder how many of us have you on our do not deal with lists now?

Very well put.

not that it matters but look at my post about the time line. i did not receive word of the death until about three hours past the second delivery. isn't that the first thing you do when you get a dead animal call the shipper. and if you want a phone record ask eddie to get it because his phone log will show my number and the voicemail i left at 4:07 pm CST to ask how everything went. 4:07 CST left a message because he did answer or call to let me know anything, according to my email from UPS the 2nd delivery was made at 1:47pmCST do the math.

Why can you not provide the phone log? You are providing the time line. :shrug01:

I wonder how it would work out if you had a customer that created a thread and had answers to everything fed to him before he created the bad guy thread? It would not matter to me if I knew someone for 20 years...if their story doesn't hold together..it doesn't hold together.:shrug01:

I was and continue to be suspicious of those additional heat packs (I was speaking to someone else prior to my first post on this thread and mentioned that it doesn't look good to be adding details to a story this late in the incident). To me, it seems as if someone FED him an answer...for instance..perhaps a friend said, "The only way I could see this happening is if there were more than one heat pack in the box..." For a shipper that's been shipping for quite a while, I find it very VERY hard to believe the seller would put in 3 (count 'em) THREE heat packs..this is a ridiculous charge..again in my opinion.

What I had in my first post that I decided to delete was: When you moved the box for taking pics, you didn't notice any movement (it didn't look like the heat packs were taped down as was the top heat pack), you didn't feel any weight shift..didn't hear any rattle of additional stuff in the box? You seem to have taken all the paper out when you took the picture.

There is too long a time between the pictures and the "discovery" of 2 additional heat packs for me to take it seriously.

BUT if it were true that there were 3 heat packs, he would be owned a refund.;)

Im suspicious of them as well... and how an additional 4 hours on an 80* day can kill a python.

Something just isnt adding up... and at this time Im not backing either individual... Im just trying to get to the bottom of things.

It was 80 outside, but likely much hotter in that dark colored truck. The delivery trucks aren't temp controlled, and there is no circulation.

easy way out offer to refund half the money for both your losses and walk away. because either way someone is a liar and we will never know the truth so why argue back and forth who is right or wrong in my op both parties are at fault one way or another.

I think Eddie spoke to a few people before he posted on the b.o.i. and possibly before he posted this in a b.p. forum. Dont most people ask for advise or other thought on a situation? I think he was looking for information on the situation and possibly how to handle it. It was better than jumping the gun and posting little pieces of a story and then adding more as it went on.
But saying someone said to add two more heat packs to the box and take pics to make you look better, thats a harsh accusation. (even if he had another package from someone else how would you explain the THIRD heat pack?) BUT i can see where it can be done. With certain type of people. SO over look the other two heat packs. NOW what would be cause of death? Even harder to believe this snake had arrived dead, right? Also hard to believe a four hour difference would kill this reptile. Something doesnt sound right. Three heat packs in high temps would def. be the reason this snake died.
As for my transaction with Eddie, it went great. He was referred by a good guy I respect. I was in the hospital with Pneumonia and we had a few phone calls and a e-mail or two. He knew what he wanted and paid for it with no delays. An was there to receive his package.
IMO, the seller needs to work something out with the buyer. Three heat packs would of killed this snake easily. IF there was only one heat pack then why was the snake dead on arrival? I dont think it was the extra few hours. Not only that you dont offer something to someone than take it back. Being the seller isnt always the positive end of the stick. sometimes you need to man up and replace an animal (or work something out) that had died even if you believe your not at fault. It comes with the territory. But after that you can always refuse business with that person to avoid future problems.
