Well I just got a phone call from a guy who said he is Lynnwood707 Dad. Says he's going to fire up the ol' motorhome and come to my house and give an old fashion butt whoopin' He was ranting a raving that his "daughter" is honest, and a bunch of other crap.

I would not appreciate being threatened.. if he calls you again, I would suggest you file a report with the police. People tend to be on the scary side these days, and that phone call is a little over the top.
How old is this "seller" anyway? I was under the impression that minors could not post animals on Reptibid or virtually anywhere else.

I happened upon this thread and thought the name sounded familiar. Someone posted an ad for a baby "canebrake" rattler in the venomous section of reptibid. She is asking an insane price for the snake, with a buy it now for $200. Anyone knows cbb baby timbers can be acquired for well under $50, so wham, I immediately was suspicious. I used to moderate reptibid's chat, but when that stopped being used, I decided to take up some of my spare time helping to "police" the snake ads. I've reported and gotten a number removed by the webmaster and he's been very willing to help. Well, if you will go to this auction for the rattler, number 1074121812, notice who is the high bidder. None other than our friend Lynwood. She immediately bid $100 on the snake, well over it's market value, to try to force others bidding to have to go higher than that. Now note who the seller is, Cloveflowers, none other than one of Lynwood's staunch supporters on her thread. I personally believe these two people to be one in the same. I won't even mention that timbers are protected in GA and little miss (probably) underage Lynwood couldn't have them in the first place. Anyway, I believe it's obvious that this Lynwood person is a major scammer that uses many different names on the site. I'll contact the webmaster as well and alert him to it. Once he's gotten so many replies, he's bound to do something. Is there anyone that has a program that can check IP addresses online? I know you can occasionally right click and hit view source and sift through the html code until you can find an IP address, and I've done that successfully, but reptibid's site is just too messy to do that

Aside from the stupidity of the scam and the obvious sock puppeting with multiple identities, some of the comments were remarkably offensive. Is the webmaster over there not paying ANY attention to people's language?

I think we would usually refer to the result of such an attempt as "a well fed king cobra". But hey, it was in a movie, so it's got to be true.

Ahhh it gets better and better. Now we find out that Oldfart707 is her father (supposedly) well that same user was the first to post on her feedback telling others of the purchase he made with her and would make with her again in the future. Just another string in the web of deceit that she is making.
Also I love how scammers always start to make threats of Libel/Slander suits and then make physical threats. Greg, I would definitely contact the PD there and make sure complaints are filed. I find it very disturbing that they posted your address and such and say they obtained it from the PD.

Also Richie just pointed out on that site that another one of the usernames that is defending her and supposedly made a purchase from her and had that purchase shipped is from the same exact town as she is. hmmmm who would spend $3k on a snake with someone in the same town and then have it shipped overnight to them? HAHAHAHA this gets funnier and funnier with every post.

Actually I did make a mistake, she said she purchased 4 pairs of hets to get the 2 pairs she wanted and is selling the other 2 pairs to make her money back. Well that just made it add up even less. If you would like proof that that you can go to th link below where this information has been posted and you can clearly see we are 2 different people as on that site there is a requirement for full names to be posted and the Webmaster there checks IP addresses to catch false aliases as are being used in this situation.

And it's not "slander" that's going on here, (slander is when it is "spoken") this is actually "libel" (which means written). If libel is found to be untrue, the person who caused the libel can be sued if the victim of the libel chooses to do so. LynnWood, if I were you I would make screen shots of these pages so that you will have them later if you decided to pursue any actions against anyone.
I understand that everyone is trying to keep Reptibid safe for everyone else. God knows I am trying to do my share here. But, when it comes down to name calling and obvious libel actions (libel = if the statements are proven to be untrue) then it has gone too far as far as I am concerned. There are several people who have posted what I consider to be rude and uncalled for obnoxious messages on here. I do a LOT of business (mainly buying) on Reptibid, and because of what I have read above there are a couple of people I will now NEVER do business with because of thier rude behavior here.
Why would anyone want to do business with someone who is rude, degrading and obnoxious...? And someone who posts terrible things all over Reptibid about someone who's customers, so far, have been happy with their purchases.
Just my 2 cents.

FYI, I just looked at her feedback again. FOUR of those people are people I have done business with or spoken to on the phone regarding reptiles. I know those people are definitely not in Georgia, one is in NY, one in Florida the other 2 don't have Georgia area codes from when I called thier homes (and those 2 were men, one up north and one on the west coast).
Just wanted to add that since I have done business with 4 of the people who gave her good feedback and know them to not be her.

Genetics are quite simple once you know what you are doing. Albino Ball Pythons are a simple recessive gene, meaning to get an albino, you need both parents to carry the gene. You get 100% hets by breeding an albino animal to a normal or het albino, you get ALL albino babies from breeding an albino to an albino....PERIOD, no discussion, no if ands or buts about it. SO, if someone is selling 100% het albinos that they are claiming came from two albino parents, that they themselves SAW, I would say that is impossible. I breed Ball pythons, the genetics seem difficult, but once you study them awhile, genetics is pretty simple...there are some "possibilities" in genetics and some "givens" in genetics, an albino x albino breeding is a given, and produces 100% Albino offspring.

Dayve, I've been drawn into this as a matter of family honor. I know nothing about the snakes in question. The snakes are Lynn's hobby. You seem to be well informed about the albino to albino ball python breeding, although you omitted the number of years you have been breeding albino ball pythons and if they were all decendent of an original pair or if you have brought a new bloodline into you program. I made my statements after getting information from a leading expert in the field, if it was not for the late hour I would call and ask his permission to post his name. The gentleman said much the same thing that you did,including that the RECESSIVE gene only produces when it is not hampered by a DOMINANT gene. Most breeders are using stock that have the same bloodlines so science dictates that they will have a highly repeatable result,that aside, bloodlines can and do make for variations. However, I remember from collage that there was only one absolute in nature and that was that there were no absolutes. I for one appreciate you bring a sense of decorum back to these pages, as I am sure many others do. Thank You. If you have any information about any studies or publications I would be most interested in purchasing the book or books for Lynn. I would also like to offer an apology to all persons who may have been offended by any of my posts to Greg Holland,he will have to face the music for what he has said, I'm just sorry to the rest of the members that it all took place in your forum. Someone has brought up two items, which I will now address First, the possibility that an unknown, or new line of albino ball was one of the parents. Assuming a known line of albino was bred to an unknown or new line of albino, you could possibly get double het for both lines, or if they were compatable, you would get all albino babies. If you breed a dom or co dom morph to a simple recessive, it is pretty simple also, you get the dom or co dom animal, that are het for the recessive gene, and 100% normal looking animals, het for the simple recessive gene. Now lets assume one albino was a new line albino that was a dom gene....well, we could get albinos, and hets, BUT, albinos have ALL proven to be simple recessive genes...so the above scenerio is HIGHLY unlikly.

I do a LOT of business (mainly buying) on Reptibid, and because of what I have read above there are a couple of people I will now NEVER do business with because of thier rude behavior here.

To whom it may concern:
Genetics are quite simple once you know what you are doing. Albino Ball Pythons are a simple recessive gene, meaning to get an albino, you need both parents to carry the gene. You get 100% hets by breeding an albino animal to a normal or het albino, you get ALL albino babies from breeding an albino to an albino....PERIOD, no discussion, no if ands or buts about it. SO, if someone is selling 100% het albinos that they are claiming came from two albino parents, that they themselves SAW, I would say that is impossible. I breed Ball pythons, the genetics seem difficult, but once you study them awhile, genetics is pretty simple...there are some "possibilities" in genetics and some "givens" in genetics, an albino x albino breeding is a given, and produces 100% Albino offspring.

Dayve, I've been drawn into this as a matter of family honor. I know nothing about the snakes in question. The snakes are Lynn's hobby. You seem to be well informed about the albino to albino ball python breeding, although you omitted the number of years you have been breeding albino ball pythons and if they were all decendent of an original pair or if you have brought a new bloodline into you program. I made my statements after getting information from a leading expert in the field, if it was not for the late hour I would call and ask his permission to post his name. The gentleman said much the same thing that you did,including that the RECESSIVE gene only produces when it is not hampered by a DOMINANT gene. Most breeders are using stock that have the same bloodlines so science dictates that they will have a highly repeatable result,that aside, bloodlines can and do make for variations. However, I remember from collage that there was only one absolute in nature and that was that there were no absolutes. I for one appreciate you bring a sense of decorum back to these pages, as I am sure many others do. Thank You. If you have any information about any studies or publications I would be most interested in purchasing the book or books for Lynn. I would also like to offer an apology to all persons who may have been offended by any of my posts to Greg Holland,he will have to face the music for what he has said, I'm just sorry to the rest of the members that it all took place in your forum. Someone has brought up two items, which I will now address
First, the possibility that an unknown, or new line of albino ball was one of the parents. Assuming a known line of albino was bred to an unknown or new line of albino, you could possibly get double het for both lines, or if they were compatable, you would get all albino babies. You would not however get hets/DHs and albinos in the same clutch. If it were a new line bred to a new line, you would get either albinos, or hets, but not both. Why hets, well, if you bred two new lines that were DIFFERENT new lines, and not compatable....yeah, we are reachingThe second item was bringing in a co dom or dom morph. If you breed a dom or co dom morph to a simple recessive, it is pretty simple also, you get the dom or co dom animal, that are het for the recessive gene, and 100% normal looking animals, het for the simple recessive gene. Now lets assume one albino was a new line albino that was a dom gene....well, we could get albinos, and hets, BUT, albinos have ALL proven to be simple recessive genes...so the above scenerio is HIGHLY unlikly.

1 There were 8 of them that you bought. You said (4 pairs)
2. And all the ones you bought are hets.

The address thing doesn't bother me becayse it was already on my site to begin with. Whta does bother me is that this guy calls me at midnight last night, sounding like he's going to have an asthma attack, and saying he's going to kill me and my family. After a night of sleep, and now feeling refreshed I'm taking his threats with a grain of salt. Although just to be safe I'll call the Valdosta PD this morning so I can speak to the supervisor of the morning shift and file the complaint. Oh the phone # he gave on reptibid, way to go Richie, it was some pest control company or something. Here's the # that is on my caller ID: 229-241-8868.
I'll keep everyone posted.

One thing I noticed was he said he received your e-mail and address from the VPD. Then he said that someone he knows works there (I think it was an aunt or something). He also made a comment to some criminal history. If this is how he obtained your information and actually did get your history this is a violation of protocol and I doubt seriously that the Chief would like to know that kind of behavior is going on. Greg, I would contact the chief tomorrow and inform him/her of this behavior along with your complaint.

Well my address and # were on my website until yesterday. I just got a call from the Lowdnes Sheriff Dept and talked with the Sargeant of the morning shift. For him to do anything I first must file the complaint with Temple PD, and then the Temple PD will send the complaint to them. An officer will come by sometime today to take the report. The person at the Lowdnes Sheriffs Dept has never heard of this guy, if that's his real name (Bill Minot), and come to find out from an earlier post if he is selling selling venomous herps he's going to have to answer to that. Apparentley they have strict laws about that.
The good thing about this is that almost everything is on the public forum for everyone to read, so the Sheriff of that county has already requested the website so he could read the story. I hope he has a lot of coffee because it's going to take a while.
