In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Magic Merlin aka jp1241@verizon is a fraud

Well.... That was quite an interesting conversation I just had with Jason on the phone.

And together we figured out the undercount situation.
The lids that he used have these soft "meshy" holes in the top of the lids to allow the container to breathe. However with the moist substrate knocking into the mesh during shipment the moisture from the substrate wears down and weakens the mesh and they begin to open up.
I double checked my box and the packing material and found several of the phoenix worms err... Soldier fly larvae escapees.

Now that being said we very quickly worked out an agreement to amend the situation and he'll be looking for new containers to use for shipping these.

So if anyone reading this has undercounts, check your lids and the boxes/shipping materials for escapees. Let him know and he'll take care of you. No complaints here. He handled the whole thing very well.

Thank you Kevin for reminding me how a simple phone call can clear up any confusion generated from emails or PMs......from now on I will be including my phone number before shipping on each sale.

Jason, I sure hope my order comes in great shape. I'll have my camera ready to take pictures when they arrive. ;)

I hope it's not one of those "you get what you pay for" circumstances...

Hey Nicole,

Please post an update once your roaches arrive tomorrow.

Thanks, Jason

Haha no prob. My grandparents and some siblings still misspell my name. :p

I'll let you know when the roaches get here.

Tootles!

once again i apologize, Jason refunded my money. thank you for being reasonable even though i wasn't. i have had a very horrible week alot has happened and i got worked up. apparently there was a small hole in the lid and they escaped. please disregard all the negative posts Jason is a stand up guy. sorry for all of my drama but its no excuse i was in the wrong. hopefully i have not ruined Jason's rep. my house was robbed 5 days ago so im still upset over that. Please accept my apology.

The thing that matters is that it was all cleared up. The refund was sent and an apology was given for being so hasty about things.

You deserve a bit of respect for coming on here and apologizing, Josh.

It's a learning experience. ;)

Hopefully the apology makes up for the folks that the title of this thread alone on a BOI search will run off.

Jason..

I bought some turks from Jason a few months ago and the whole transaction was great. I got all my turks, with none of them dead. He stayed intouch with me the entire time also. For the OP to jump on Jason like this was just wrong. From what Ive experienced and the many other people that have posted on the BOI about him, he is really a great guy and business man.

I think the OP gets the point. He knows it was wrong. That's why he apologized and cleared things up. Nuff said.

Its been a while since I made a transaction with Jason, I don't know if it still matters but I just want the people whos reading this thread to know that my transaction was not resolved.

Their is the thread......his original post and my heated email replies explain the situation pretty thoroughly. Just to add some clarification......in Dallas Texas we had freezing temperatures at the beginning of April so Wilhelm's claim that it was 80+ degrees is a complete fabrication.......he left the roaches outside for a minimum of 12 hours and then wonders why they were dead.

Per his own Live Arrival Guarantee on his beardies, contact must be made within 2 hrs.....If you will search his adds, before he has time to delete them, you will notice that he has deleted the Guarantee that was capitalized and in bold lettering as of May.....you can make your own judgements about how that looks.

I know when I receive something DOA or their is a problem I am on the phone or emailing the seller within 30 seconds of opening the package and not 12 hours......too bad their is not a timestamp on his videos......looks pretty dark in the room, like it was shot at midnight as opposed to 12:30 in the afternoon.

A lot of members and friends of mine said I should have just paid him off to make this go away, unfortunately my day job is fighting for my clients when they have been taken advantage of by credit card companies so I am not used to running away from a fight.

I really don't want to get too involved in this.... However, I understand Jasons point of view for not refunding the money. I also understand Lothario's. Being that he took the time to take pictures and video to confirm the doa's and that there is never going to be any actual proof of when the roaches actually died or the cause. I would suggest a 50% refund in the name of good faith (if for no other reason) In my mind that should be a sufficient and fair resolution based on everything I know about this situation. I'm not a moderator, mediator or anything of the sort. It's just simply my own personal outlook on a fair solution.

Quoting moose9 from the link provided:

They would of survived if they were shipped differently. B. lateralis need more ventilation and room then B. dubia, etc. when shipping. I personally don't use plastic when shipping. Heat and condensation and toxic gases builds up from the roaches and there is no ventilation, so in turn you end up with doa's. I made that mistake myself just recently using the wrong size box for the volume being shipped and the roaches succumbed to asphyxiation. I also owned up and replaced them for the guy, no questions asked.

Cardboard boxes work best as they allow for better breathing. I would think someone shipping roaches regularly would have the proper shipping tools like egg flat pieces for support, not, what appears to be paper in the images. I hope you get some resolution out of this. People should know, when dealing on these forums, word gets around. Good luck!

Now this is what I have to say.

Yes, he might have opened his package later than he should have but like moose9 stated, they would have survived if they were packaged better. B. Lateralis are non-climbers. Being moved around as much as they were means they wouldn't have been able to cling on to the paper provided for them. Paper isn't like egg crates in any way. Seems to me it was a packaging error that should be owned up to. Even if the problem was reported later than it should have been, it's an obvious cluster fudge inside that container.

And before anyone gets offended, I'm not saying anyone owes a refund or what ever. That's between the OP and Jason. None of my business there.

Just my honest opinion...hope this gets resolved.

I don't know why your trying to make me look like a bad guy when your the one who made the packing error. I already showed you all the information that i have in order to get a refund or replacement. I did not delate anything, all the threads that you claimed that i delated are still in this forum. just go search it in my thread list. also, my warranty is in my profile, if you click my profile name it will direct you to my page and you will see my warranty. I'm not trying to hide anything, you can even ask the mods if I delated some stuff regarding to this issue. also reptiles and roaches are two different animals. reptiles are more delicate, that is why my warranty is only 2 hours. In addition, California and Texas are not the same, each state has different temperatures. I already showed you a proof that the temp in my area is safe for the roaches to survive. also my room is dark all day long because I cover my window so that people can't see my pets and the only light I have is my desk light, the one in the video. you can even check for accuracy, all the videos that i made in my room are dark.

I believe that it is not my fault why the shipment resulted from a DOA. I been honest thru out this whole transaction and all the information that i provided are accurate and reliable. I'm not trying to pick a fight or debate. I just want you to make things right.

Willy, if I go with this suggestion of 1/2, which I believe is 15.00, will you be satisfied and update all the forums you complained on that the problem has been resolved to your satisfaction?
