In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

...because, if they're kept cooler, you may have to wait 48 DAYS until the eggs are laid!!!

Sorry for the blurry picture, there. She wasn't happy at my intrusion, so I didn't want to bother her too much...and my camera was having trouble figuring out where to focus...and I was too excited to care.

So yeah...finally! Ugh, what a wait! She had her pre-lay shed on Feb. 19, so I've been expecting eggs for almost three weeks now. Her temps were in the 82-86 range when they should've been at 85-90. I corrected the temps a couple weeks after the pre-lay shed, but that doesn't seem to have helped much! Hee hee. I took her to the vet on Monday because that was day 45--waaaaay past due--but other than being a bit anemic, all her plumbing seemed fine. He said to give her another week. Glad she finally decided to lay! Goober. She's a trouble-maker, that's for sure....

Between the time I took these pictures and the time I left for work, she had finished and wrapped herself neatly around all six eggs. From what I could tell, they don't look like slugs, but even good-looking eggs can be infertile. I'll candle them tonight when I weigh them and put them in the incubator. (I'm well aware that my excitement could be for naught, but hey, it's my first clutch...and her first clutch!)

She was bred to a gorgeous Lesser, by the way. Irulan, here, has bronze-green flames, just like the Lesser, so I'm hoping maybe the color will get passed on and I'll get slightly greener Lessers. We'll see!

Congrats, you can finally relax now.

Thank you!

Yep!!! Well, mostly. I'm sure I'll still be obsessing about the eggs for the next 55 days or so.... :p

Sound advice Krystal, and Congrats!!!! :dancer01::dancer01:

Thank you!!!! \o/

well, that explains why all my girls lay late. They are usually at around 85 degrees hot spot.

Could be! Most likely the reason mine was. Silly girl!

Update!!!

Well, turns out I was wrong. Apparently, she wasn't done when I left this morning. I'd been wondering what happened to the other two follicles (we felt up to eight at one point) since she only laid six eggs. Well, I got home and found her coiled so tightly around her eggs that I couldn't see them at all. I gave her a little poke and she relaxed a bit (and by "relaxed" I mean "got into a good biting position")...and for a few seconds, there, I wasn't sure I could count properly.

Sure enough...she hadn't just laid six eggs. She laid eight!

And the best news? They're all fertile!!!! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!

The clutch ended up being ~643 grams, so the eggs average ~80 grams each. Irulan herself went from ~2000 g to ~1330. Poor girl is so thin! I hope she starts eating right away....

Here's to hoping for eight healthy babies! And if possible, lots of Lessers!
