In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Matt Shrimplin

What a perfect beautiful face! Love the wink :)

Matt, you should be so ashamed; it's positively disgraceful how you treated that little creature, all for your own greed.

i would not only like to hear from Matt but i would also like to hear from Ken, since ken is the one that received the gecko in the first place. if it was that bad when Ken received it he should have contacted Matt ASAP on the condition of the animal. why would Ken accept a sub par animal and then ship it off to you?

I can't edit my post. But apparently he did eat a few worms at Ken's. I thought he was talking about another gecko I got from him.

As for the vet, the vet did a thorough exam. He's a good vet, he's taken care of my hypochondroplasia dwarf leo for the last 2 years. The vet said they can get viruses, like humans do, he probably got it two or three months ago, laid dormant, and it's just taking a toll on his body now. He's been in no contact with any other leos since he arrived at Kens. My vet's coming back over in a few weeks to check him over again if he doesn't improve mucg, but he's starting to get a bit better.

Maia, me and Ken have been in constant communication. Cleatus wasn't lethargic when he got him, but by the time he got to me he was beyond sick. Ken did nothing wrong, he kept him isolated, as do I. The prolapse was fixed, and the cut on the foot wasn't examined by a vet at Ken's, and he put neosporin on it.

did the vet do any actual tests on the gecko or did he just examine him?

Response to this BS

This is Matt, the seller of the Mack Snow Enigma Male. When I shipped the gecko he was eating great, had no fece problems, and was much larger than the pics I've seen of him recently. I told Ken about the cut on the foot and the exposed hemipene. I just received an email from some girl that Ken sent the gecko to and have tried resolving the issue by sending her another male gecko and an additional female for her troubles. Don't give me your bull-crap about "GREED". I sell my geckos at prices lower than almost anyone on the internet and do my best to advertise them accurately. Some people are so f$#*ing quick to judge. Don't be a coward and talk sh*t behind my back... grow some balls and contact me personally!:NoNo:

i just took a look at Matt's webpage and none of his other leopard geckos look in the shape of that animal right there. i would like to see the photos matt sent to ken also. also why did ken just not buy the gecko for you and get it shipped to you instead of getting it shipped to him.

Pictures Matt sent in the origin would help LOTS!
Matt, I didn't expect that type response from someone with a Jesus fish on thier homepage...

Allee, between your complaint and Matt (john smith) Shrimplin's reply here I think your point has been clearly made.
And to Matt/John.....you say in your post you got an email from "some girl"....I'm quite sure that girl was Allee, the one your cussing at to "contact you in person".
She did contact you, now she is helping the rest of us by bringing a bad deal to light so we can use the information to determine if we want to buy from you. And you are helping us by bringing your personality to light with that response.

All in all...score one for the BOI.

if it was only that simple. because i bought four completely healthy animals from matt, which i could not be happier with. they have eaten since day one, they have doubled in size just in no time and my experience was wonderful with Matt. so seeing something like this comes are a surprise to me.

Mr. Matt Shrimplin, I AM the girl who's been contacting you. Your response is horrific. I have told you my complaints, and you simply snubbed them.

I appreciate your email sent to me at 6:19, shortly after I got offline. If you would of tried to resolve it the first time, I would not of posted. I only posted because I feel you were writing it off as nothing significant, when I have a near death animal with your name written all over it.

Mrs. Robin, Ken is not a key link here. When he received him the hemipenes are exposed (which were NOT previously told to us like Matt tries to imply.) and he had a cut on his foot. The prolapse fixed itself shortly after Ken CONTACTED Matt, and the foot was left with medication (neosporin) on it for 5 days before it was shipped to me. At the time, he showed no signs of being ill, except for moving sluggishly, which we assumed was just him.

If we would of known he'd be this sick after 6 days of being in our care, he would of been sent back asap.

And instead of posting a nasty remark, where all I did was post quotes from you, Matt, you could of apologized, and stated that it was wrong of you to send me someones sick animal. If you wish to resolve this politely, like I tried to do (it obviously got me no where, so I came to the BOI), act like an adult and PM me.

I'm complaining about Cleatus. Ken received other leos from him with this shipment who are doing splendidly. Cleatus, however, is lethargic, and sickly.

He wants me to not categorize this one gecko with his others because it was a "friends" who gave it to him. Why sell a gecko you've only had in your care "1 to 2 weeks" when 2 weeks is obviously not enough for quarantine or to see how well an animal really is before selling it.

That poor gecko does look very skinny, and definitely does have some issues.
Are there any pictures available from the original ad or website before the gecko was sold?
Matt/John do you know you can get banned here on Fauna for using a fictitious name in/on your profile?

I did not save the picture of him from his website. After the order was placed, I went to go save a copy but it was already down. I believe Ken has one, but he's at a funeral currently. When he calls me when he gets home I'll ask him to post one, if he has it.

so ken got nice healthy geckos and passed the sub par animal on to you? i really would like to see the photots that ken recieved. also when did you FIRST contact matt? the date? i do not know but if this is the same leo you posted in your thread last night on fauna classified, you seemed completely happy with him. but it's not the same geckos and as you can see in this thread, these geckos are thin as well http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=51296. so the question is. is this matt, ken or you?

The problem is with Matt. I have many healthy leos, and I do not appreciate you questioning my or Ken's ability to take care of leos. This isn't involving my two boys who were very tiny (gaining weight like crazy 4 week olds should) when I got them two weeks ago.

This is a thread about Matt's customer care, and how irresponsible it was for him to send a poor health gecko. If you read one if his responses, he admits to knowing it was in poor health, and to only having it for at max of 2 weeks. It could take weeks for a gecko to show signs of being ill, so for it to magically become ill, and increase in illness, after I received him needs to be explained. He clearly did not have him long enough to tell if someone was really wrong with him internally.

I'm having the vet come by again tomorrow for another smear on a fresh feces sample. This time it's being sent to a vet school to be examined by more than one person. I will post the results after it's checked. I have a feeling it's parasites, since I can't see worms in his feces and he's losing weight slowly.

i do not think Matt's reply in this thread was very nice at all but considering it has been through kens hands and yours before you contacted him. i think it was fair what he offered you. yes geckos can thin down like that after breeding and maybe matt has only had him a week or two but ken had him what, five days? the parasites could have come from several places. on the original vet exam did the gecko get a fecal test?

Yes, the vet did.

As for what he offered, he originally offered me to ship Cleatus back, at my expense, and ship a replacement back, at my expense. $100 for both shippings, not to mention no recovery of the cost of Cleatus.

Only after I signed offline, and only after he wrote me off, did I receive a PM on GF stating that if I pay the $50 shipping, he'll send me an adult male, and a female. THAT was a reasonable settlement. But I did not receive this until after our PM relay had stopped for a few hours, and after I posted on the BOI. If I got this originally, I would of taken the offer, and gone about my business thinking that he's a good breeder who wants to make his customers happy. But I did not receive this until later. Later, after he expressed that Cleatus is not his responsibility.

I posted not just for Cleatus' health, but for the fact that he
1. lied (he did not mention his health at all prior to shipping, until the morning of receipt, but says he did).
2. Expected me to ship him back, at my expense.
3. Pay shipping for my replacement, which was his mistake in the first place.

If he would of done things properly the first time, instead of writing it off, it wouldn't of come to this.

.
1) at this point it is not clear if he has lied or not ken will have to answer that.
2) the gecko has been out of his hands for how long now? lets say a month and in that time the gecko has already been pasted through someone elses hands first. so to be honest he is being kind. to even offer you a replacement.
3) if anyone should pay shipping it should be ken since he acepted this gecko in this shape.

now answer me this. when did you first note Matt about this gecko? yesterday? two weeks ago? did he even know that ken had given you the gecko and were now its new owner?
