i do not think Matt's reply in this thread was very nice at all but considering it has been through kens hands and yours before you contacted him. i think it was fair what he offered you. yes geckos can thin down like that after breeding and maybe matt has only had him a week or two but ken had him what, five days? the parasites could have come from several places. on the original vet exam did the gecko get a fecal test?
Yes, the vet did.
As for what he offered, he originally offered me to ship Cleatus back, at my expense, and ship a replacement back, at my expense. $100 for both shippings, not to mention no recovery of the cost of Cleatus.
Only after I signed offline, and only after he wrote me off, did I receive a PM on GF stating that if I pay the $50 shipping, he'll send me an adult male, and a female. THAT was a reasonable settlement. But I did not receive this until after our PM relay had stopped for a few hours, and after I posted on the BOI. If I got this originally, I would of taken the offer, and gone about my business thinking that he's a good breeder who wants to make his customers happy. But I did not receive this until later. Later, after he expressed that Cleatus is not his responsibility.
I posted not just for Cleatus' health, but for the fact that he
1. lied (he did not mention his health at all prior to shipping, until the morning of receipt, but says he did).
2. Expected me to ship him back, at my expense.
3. Pay shipping for my replacement, which was his mistake in the first place.
If he would of done things properly the first time, instead of writing it off, it wouldn't of come to this.
