So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If the sins of the people we hang around with were to associated with every individual I think we'd all come out looking pretty bad at some point. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Just because an old friend of mine from the hood who I still see occasionally deals in questionable substances, does that make me guilty of anything. I think not. Evertyone's so quick to jump on the bandwagon and hang someone without the slightest bit of concrete evidence.  Innuendo and character assasination were still pretty low on the feeding scale last time I checked. I don't know this guy from a hole in the wall. But from what I've seen on here so far he's not guilty of anything. Has his reputation and business been affected, most likely to a small extent. Can you prove he's guilty of anything? I know I couldn't at this stage.  So if you can't prove it beyond areasonable doubt, why come on a public forum and slur a man's  name

Did I say "guily"? No. I was referring to the impression people may have of someone closely associated with the dirt of another. Guilt has nothing to do with it. Even though Barry isn't Matt and Matt isn't Barry, I wouldn't be comfortable dealing with either of them, simply based on the questionable status behind one, or both of them. But I am an experienced, cautious guy. More naive folks may have no problems with it.

By the way, I am only going by what I have read in this thread. I have no clue as to the actual status of either individual. I was making a statement to clearify the very real fact that if someone's name is associated with unquestionable activities, and you associate with that name, people maye be weary of you as well.

Maybe they should be, and maybe they shouldn't. But it's all based on imression and perception and reputation. If you don't think any of that matters, then you obviously haven't been around very long.

Here is a big clue for you Matt.  In the old Board...  You ruled the day.  Everyone was posting how they got ripped off by you.  Everyone was posting threatening e-mails they got from you.  Everything that came out of your mouth was f this and f that.  So I asked if anyone had a picture of you.  Guess what?  Someone forwarded it to me.  Look closely around you.  It was a picture sent to me by one of your friends or acquaintances.  Be careful who you talk to.  Be careful who you send your pics too...because you saying you never sent your pics to anyone is an obvious lie  how else would it have been mailed to me?

I am not here to say weather you are good or bad.  All I did was point out the adds.  I pointed out the same IP #s.  I pointed out the same photographs.  I pointed out the same photograph server.  Your dealings are another story.  That is not what I was after.  What I was after was the fact that it "seemed" you were changing identities again.

yes you are right....I have lots of different e-mails.  BUT they all have Ritchie on them... I never pretended to be a rescue like you did. etc etc.

Coming from you Jason I am not too worried.  Yeah I used a email for a refuge I was starting and guess what I am still called upon to take animals.

Sorry don't have any unhealthy animals, but how would you know and why would you care cause you are so hung up on things that you have to dwell and dwell on this.

not trying to start anything, but what exactly are your intentions?  to be a businessman or a guy with reptiles as pets?
 
For how many animals I had before and how many I have now there is a big difference and did liquidate alot of them.  I will always have snakes as pets and maybe a monitor or alligator or something.

I am just not going to be going about things like I used to be.  Also there are some chances I would bet that some of my pets will breed cause I do have pairs.Like I said before I am not going to retail is all.  Periodically I will have things to sell to keep things low key and not as many animals as before.

I said what I was going to say and voiced my opinions.  People are going to do and say what they want whether there is cause or not.

If individuals were interested in finding out the TRUTH or have questions they would contact me but obviously some people don't have Testicular Fortitude just talk is all.

I have plenty of references and people that can attest to things.  Just ask, it is not hard for most people except when they are not big enough too.

I don't usually visit the BOI.  I feel most postings are unfair and slanderous.  I have been without a PC (at home) off and on for quite some time, so my response here is a little late.  My name was thrown in here, and I have no problem stating my associations and transactions with others.  I do have a problem with some comments made by a couple of others.  I would like to address those people first.

Matt is not Barry

Matt is trying to run a business, but has some baggage from a previous business venture.

Matt and Anthony had a less than ideal transaction, but that is between them.

Matt has a wide variety of animals, and he is very knowledgeable about the species he works with.

Matt is currently caring for some of my animals while my wife and I are searching for a new home.  In plain English, I trust Matt with my Burms.

I never said Matt wasn't being truthful.  The point is that you should not quote somebody through another party.  I don't know about Matt's past business dealings nor do I care.  Aside from Anthony, I am not aware of anybody who has a current issue with Matt.  The BOI is out of control.  It amounts to nothing more than a gossip column at this point.  It is good for a laugh, but I find very little credibility in any statements found here.

We might disagree with how a few individuals have conducted themselves in this board. But most of the people have taken things seriously enough to help others decide whether or not to deal with a certain individual/company or how to resolve an issue. We can probably count with the fingers of one hand the threads that have turn into a joke, and we all know which. In almost every instance it has been the person(s) questioned that have been responsible for turning it ugly. I still think this is a very valuable forum if we use it constructively. For once both you and me are currently posting. If it were not credible at all we wouldn't be wasting our time.

Daniel, I agree with you 100%.  The BOI can be a valuable resource.  Unfortunately, it has become a place of accusations and poor mediation attempts.  If everyone would use it as it was intended that would be great.  I am currently being criticized in another thread by a person who claims he never received something he purchased from me.  I admitted fault in the matter for not shipping the item timely, yet I am still being blasted.  I posted the tracking numbers in the thread, posted an ad on Kingsnake with my phone number, and emailed all the affected parties.  My point is, the board is being used in an improper manner against me (and certainly others).  I quit posting on the other thread because it is purely a waste of my time, and I have turned the matter over to the Postal Service.  

This industry has enough problems from the outside.  We need a better engine to correct the internal problems.  The BOI needs to remain a place to make inquiries, but we need something better for mediation.

You are saying that the BOI should be a place to make inquiries, implying ONLY inquiries?  Now just what does that mean?  You want people to only ask about people?  What about responses?  What happens when you get responses that all aren't unanimous in a decision?  Should they be then deleted, or what?  Is this the sort of mediation taking place that you don't care for?  Mediation being done by past, present, and possibly future customers?

You are saying that the BOI should be a place to make inquiries, implying ONLY inquiries?  Now just what does that mean?  You want people to only ask about people?  What about responses?  What happens when you get responses that all aren't unanimous in a decision?  Should they be then deleted, or what?  Is this the sort of mediation taking place that you don't care for?  Mediation being done by past, present, and possibly future customers?</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

Webslave, you lost me.  Yes, this should only be a place for making inquiries, in fact I think it is named the Board of Inquiry.  I never said anything about deleting posts, nor did I imply there needed to be a unanimous decision.  If somebody posts an inquiry (meaning they are asking about somebody or something), they should wait for the repsonses (good and bad) and judge for themselves what course of action they want to take.

Mediation being done by past, present, or future customers?  Mediation should be done by an unbiased party.  If somebody pays somebody else for a product or service, they are intitled to the item.  If they fail to receive the item or the item was not sent as described, then they need to take appropriate action to recover their loss.  The BOI was not designed to do this.  

Do I have a better idea?  Yes, I actually do.  Webslave, if you disagree with me, that is entirely your right.  I just don't understand the questions you have asked me.
