Thanks for the info...

I'll be looking forward to reading about a happy end to this.

Chase - while your initial post in this thread seemed premature, I have to say that you've handled this new episode well. Seems like too often lately that people have lost all tolerance and understanding.

i am trying not to get to mad at the whole issue.. but it is hard not to with fedex.. i almost wonder if they are opening the boxes and seeing they are snakes and holding them up on purpose.... i wonder if they do... this was mentioned in the other post i believe or maybe this one.... not sure.. but i mean everything happens for a reason right? at least ive been told that for as long as i can remember...

I think it has been said that the franchise stores can deny reptile shipments at their discretion...I try to avoid them as much as possible for that reason, even though I've seen a lot of people report that they've had no problems.
I'm sure that this has been frustrating for both you and Megan.

As a side note, there is one plus to being on this side of the country...my deadline for dropping off packages is 8 pm

hers is 330 and ours in texas is 5 i believe maybe 530... just hope next monday my boy gets here fine and healthy and i hope to never have shipping issues again through megan... she has more snakes that i would like to get soon... just hope it never happens again.. i think as long as they are dropped off at hub there should be no issues ever again..

I have always taken Fedex packages to the Airport because they have a later drop-off time. All of the other locations in Visalia have earlier times because a truck has to go pick them up at the Kinkos and take them back to the Fedex hub at the airport. When you drop off packages at one of the Kinkos locations, you are basically ordering a pick-up, not dropping something off. It is similar to if you were to print out a SYR label, and then request a truck to pick stuff up at your house. When that truck gets there, he will scan it. Now, the 1:48 time for "shipment information sent to fedex" is based on the time set up by SYR. If you track the shipment, and click "origin" for our local time, it says 11:48 as the "shipment info. sent" time. I only bring that up for those who are looking at the tracking and wondering how something could be picked up before it was requested. It wasn't. 12:57 is a drop-off time (as noted in Megan's receipt), though it is labeled "pick-up". The 7:22 PM is probably when the truck picked it up at Kinkos, or returned to the Airport.
It appears that Fedex did drop the ball, but it is the responsibility of the seller to make the buyer happy, while she waits. It sucks that she has to wait, but the buyer made a deal with her, not SYR or Fedex.

dave.. i am the buyer.. megan is the shipped here... also the truck never even picked the package up from the fedex location... it was still there at 8 am my time 6 am there time this morning... so i then had them hold it there for megan to pick up when she woke up.. like me and her wanted to do last night but was told it wasnt possible on the phone calling the 1800 number... thankfully i was able to stop shipment and the animal was able to be saved.. if it wasnt stopped that would have been the 4th snake 3 of which are 100% fedex's fault..

I know who is the shipper and who is the buyer. I have met Megan, and bought feeders from her mom's store for 10 years.
So the package was at Kinkos, or at Fedex? What time did you talk to them on the phone? That Kinkos that she shipped from is open until 11pm our time/ 1 am your time.
The Fedex hub at the airport closes at 6:30, but would still have trucks picking up stuff from the Kinkos locations and the other drop-offs in town. I assume that is why it was scanned after 7 pm (either when picked up at Kinkos, or dropped off at the airport)

I understand that it could be 100% fedex's faults. Still, it is the seller's responsibility to take care of the customer. You had a deal with her for the animals, not with fedex. She has a deal with fedex, and it is up to her to get compensated by them.

Sorry for doubling up on the "I Know...10 years" thing. I wasn't trying to drive a point home, just copied and pasted into a better location rather than using cut and paste.

the package was dropped of at the kinkos about 1 and was never picked up and they said megan didnt drop it off until 722.. i called about 6 am cali time today to kinkos office and a woman answered i was connected to store by the 1800 number.. then after talking with her me and her had some words.. then she said she could hold the package for megan to pick up because it was still in their office... so i had her hold it an megan got him about 8 or 9 i believe yalls time...

i have reciever my tiger m replacement snake... got here healthy as could be and managed to tag me within 5 mins lol.. a very good looking snake and very pleased with megans service. Thanks again megan.. cant wait to do business again!

This is the exact reason why i became certified thru Fed-ex .and why i would never trust my packages with SYR or Reptile Express ..
I print the label , I schedule Pickup , and I hand the package directly to the Driver (Fed-ex employee) .. too many variables to go wrong when doing it involving a 3rd party ..
Chase i hope it all gets settled for you soon ..

i just got it... i believe the issue was people at the store she was dropping them off at were openin the boxes and seeing they were snakes and delaying them... once she dropped them off at the hub they arrived alive and healthy!

This wasn't SYR's fault. Once it's in the hands of Fed-Ex, it's all them. I've never had any issues with SYR when dropping off at a hub. I print my label at home, drive to the hub, and watch it get checked in. I know a lot of people don't like SYR, but I don't think individual shippers are allowed to ship to houses, only businesses. SYR allows us to ship to houses. I personally see it as a good thing. Yes, people can screw up their packaging. But honestly, if someone wants to save money, they can get certified and then start shipping without styrofoam. Or they'll use UPS. It's a shame, but I've never received a package that was shipped wrong. I think it's a small part of the community.

I agree. SYR has helped me out of some sticky situations that were 100% fed-ex's fault. I will use SYR as long as they are available. I don't use them just because they are cheaper, they will stand behind you 100%. Fed-ex screwed ip a shipment of mine not long ago, snake was in transit for 4 days. Luckily, she arrived safe, but fed-ex would not take the blame. SYR refunded my $125 shipping cost. I am fed-ex certified, I get 16% off, but it still isn't as cheap as SYR, and even still, if a problem occurrs, I may be screwed. SYR has your back. Enough said, this was between Chase and Megan, Megan took care of Chase, whats done is done.
