    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If the jag is the snake that should have been included but was not, of course you can't charge boarding, it was your fault.
Where this is going is a quick end to the wrangling, if that is possible, and your snakes returned.
Why don't you map out what you may be responsible for and see exactly what Kruger wants to charge at that point. Realize that now that his offer is on the table, any delay caused by you will be charged to you.
 
I don't disagree that Alex and Mr Kruger should split up the cost of rats but I think mr Kruger should ship the snakes first before Alex sends him anything more. Mr Kruger has not proven to be trustworthy.

On the other hand, Alex kept back a snake and did not do research that led to some of the delay.
Neither has reason to trust the other.
Perhaps an uninterested third party acceptable to both could hold the boarding funds in escrow until Alex receives the snakes.

You had a good trade with him. The complications in this trade were party due to you. He has not by any means been blameless and he is not innocent, but it is not all on him.
 
Here's a solution, get a third party involved; someone that is neutral to the situation and that both you and Mr. Kruger can agree on. You send the money to that person for the shipping of said snakes (both to that person and then for that person to send snakes to you), and Mr. Kruger sends the snakes. Once the 3rd party gets both, they then should send the snakes to you, and send Mr. Kruger the money.

This third person; who is a neutral party; will have nothing else to do with this other than making sure the snakes get to you, and the shipping cost gets to Mr. Kruger.

Mr. Kruger should eat the "boarding" costs he is claiming he wants now, as he has been unreasonable the whole time with his demands. It's cost you probably around $50 bucks to feed those boas so far, (if you rough guess it on amount fed while in your "care.") The electricity is on regardless, so you want to be compensated for something that you would have had to pay if the deal had gone through in the first place... No. Eat it and call it a day.

As to the boarding, I disagree that Kruger should pay for all of it. Some of the delay was due to Alex.
Let's get the facts: Kruger, what are you proposing as a boarding charge, taking into account that part of the delay was on you?

Ok, even if you take into account that part of this is Alex's fault, (which I am agreeing that in the beginning it was) take off half and that's still actually nothing in the long run.

I still don't think that Mr. Kruger would send Alex the snakes, even if he did send a label. Though if a 3rd party were involved with that, they would be able to verify the snakes were there and then ship them to Alex... But that's my opinion.
 
While I personally think this could be resolved WITHOUT Mr Krugers demands for "boarding" costs he should at least post his idea of what he considers reasonable boarding costs to be as the next step.
Then maybe we can move on and get a plan of actual action in place.


BTW Mr Kruger I house/feed 60 + snakes(mostly LARGE) at any given time so I KNOW what that costs per month.....

He already bought a cage for her, so it makes it easy for him to do.

She is valued well over 400 dollars which would cover anything put out by Mr. Kruger.

Earlier in the thread he asked for $130 for 4 weeks worth of food. I don't keep snakes so I have no idea if that's reasonable but it sounds high to me.

IF for feed, alone, that is quite high for only 11 snakes!
Am sure that any labor has been rather easy, on Mr. Kruger, as well.
