In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good Guy Mice Direct

Well, I'm disappointed this time around. I ordered two sets of 50 small rats and only received one, but my account had been deducted for both and I can't reach them by phone.

Being Deaf, I don't have that kind of time to just be calling if no one is going to be answering the phone, and I really don't like the taste this leaves in my mouth of having paid for something that I haven't received without any explanation of why part of my order is missing.

Apparently, they are only "on point" if you are a new customer and once they get a "good rating" from you, the quality of service plummets.

I will not be ordering from them again. I REALLY do not like the taste this transaction is leaving in my mouth and I have no time for this kind of despicable service.

If I pay immediately, I expect that I will receive my FULL order or my account will not be deducted for the missing order.

I apologize, I see the order was in a brown paper bag looking like the dry ice bag...but these rats are filled with feces. I will not be ordering from them again. This is really unacceptable to me after receiving nice clean rats.

Deb - just email them. There have been some problems with a couple of my orders (mostly attributed to UPS' mishandling), and all were quickly resolved to my satisfaction.
I'm confident enough in them to say that if they don't take care of you, I will.

Ah - you found them. I'm surprised to hear that they were in that condition...
My answer is the same, though: just email them about the problem.

I REALLY apologize for jumping the gun. The box and my mental state lead me to believe that I had two bags of dry ice (they usually put two bags in there).

Here's the story,

After I posted (see on the box the number 2...I assumed this was 2 bags of dry ice since I have never weighted it).

After I posted, I looked again because I couldn't believe they would risk their business for (imo) chump change, and found that the second bag contained the rest of the rats (it was unlabeled, which didn't help).

The second assortment of rats looks ok, but the big bag is a bit nasty. I wouldn't put THIS in my freezer...luckily...I purchased a small one specifically for the rats.

I really apologize for getting the original accusation wrong...but I am not happy with these dirty rats. I am used to getting my rats looking like they were packed like chicken or beef.:rofl:

I ordered from them a couple of months ago. It was boxed well except a couple of the bags inside the styrofoam cooler had busted open. That caused random legs and broken tails to be all over the bottom of the cooler. The rat pups do smell strongly of urine. The rat weanlings I received do not smell bad. There is a fair amount of fecal matter on them though. I won't say that I am unhappy with my order, but I will shop around before buying again.

Looks like there's possibly some lice on those as well. :ack2: Won't hurt the snakes, but still gross. I received some of those from a respected breeder recently, and dropped them right in the trash, between the tons of visible parasites and the stink of the animals themselves.

Seems like feeder quality has gone downhill lately. I'm still on the hunt for someone selling nice, clean feeders. :shrug01:

I agree! I took the extra steps of shaking them off, rinsing them and (they didn't thaw much) and putting them in the spare freezer.

It's a shame, because our dogs and cats foods come better packaged. :shrug01:

It's our laziness that will bring down MORE restrictions. I don't know what the problem is with buying trays, washing the mice down and packing them neatly? Seems if someone is going to charge money for a product, they can at least ensure that the buyer will not be disgusted on receipt.

If I can't find CLEAN feeders at the price people are charging, I may be stuck with PetCo rip offs.

I've placed four orders with Mice Direct in the last year, the most recent was last month when I took advantage of their free shipping offer. I primarily purchase bulk medium and large rats for my boas, as those feeders are quite pricey and not often available from local suppliers. Each bags of rats was clean and did not smell of urine.

Another user pointed me in the direction of Mice Direct and I can say I couldn't be more pleased. While their price per rodent is typically slightly higher than their direct competition, their shipping price was much lower and it only took 4-5 days to receive my order where the other place wasn't going to ship until after 9/2/14 due to Memorial Day weekend.

Frozen solid, clean, packed well, cheap, and fast!
