In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don't care what you say, the refund is short, I shouldn't have to come on here to get you to pay up, would you be sending me the short $325 if I had not said anything, NOT! You got Jeff Jolie on Youtube saying he BOUGHT a Purple Golden Child and you can't pay me on your own with out all this bull, no way either pay me in full or I keep pursuing the charges, period, Paul

Michael,

I understand you were busy. You probably shouldn't have forgot, but you have in fact issued a refund.

Something about the other party was nibbling at my memory so I looked at his previous posts. Sure enough, he was the one who sassed me when I tried to tell him it was illegal to ship a turtle through the US Mail in another thread:

Do you work for USPS? I've been sending reptiles for over a year through USPS, just last week someone wanted 2 reptiles shipped to Ak, so I went to the USPS to find out the rate and was told I could no longer ship snakes but lizzards and turtles were ok, if they accept the packages and ship them knowing whats inside they are at fault too, but that's what I was told,,,All Pro shipped a retic for me last week, so I'm guessing they will ship the turtles for me, but if I can ship USPS, that's the way they are going,,,,Paul

Maybe it is a good idea for sellers to scope out buyers on the BOI. I'd never do business with someone who gave me such a hard time when all I was doing was offering info.

I received my 0.1 Purple today and I have to say she looks better than the pics Michael sent. Dealing with Michael was great and I will definately do business with him again, thanks again, Paul:thumbsup:

This is the positive BOI thread this buyer wrote for you when he received the critter. It looks like the critter got there fine.

Thank you LucilleI am sorry to still be using wife's account still awaiting activation , I admit I was wrong to have waited this long to issue a refund I didn't have the money to give him ,up till about the end of march after I my clutches have hatched and I was able to sell them, I would have issued Paul a refund regardless of this post I don't know where he is coming up with that he emailed me and no response I responded to all his posts except for the very last one 3 days ago I had not read his email I know that when I had seen his email he I would have responded to him and had payed him. I have already apologized for the delay.

You told him you would pay shipping to him so that's on you. He was supposed to pay shipping back to you but you changed your mind. He should have refunded you a long time ago but why should he be out any money because you don't have time to take care of a snake you bought? You're not entitled to any further refund.

I saw no "sassing" from Bigred in the quote you posted. I wonder , had you not "found" that post which bruised your self entitled ego, would your tone have changed so quickly. Was his post nearly as condescending as the post in another thread where you insinuated that some one was a hermaphrodite? The holier than thou attitude is suffocating and hypocritical.
Michael, good luck with your projects and good job. You did the right thing.

I paid $375 and you want me to accept $50 less, I don't think so, Paul

Perhaps you wouldn't mind sharing your protocol regarding quarantine procedures, size of cage, temps, etc. Was there a sufficient hide box and privacy accommodations while the snake was in your care? Do you have pics to support your stellar attempt to care for this youngun'? Just wondering.

Well Mr.Chris, since me posting this complaint, someone has come to me and also stated they purchased a purple retic from MP with the same eating habits, so I wouldn't jump to any conclusions on how I took care of the animal, Paul

I didn't jump to any conclusions. I asked a valid question that could benefit you or the OP, given your answer. I would have jumped on the oportunity to answer that if I were in your shoes. I would also have jumped at the chance to have this "someone" come to this thread and post their experience and let the people here decide for themselves whether or not they would deal with either of you in the future. The ball is certainly in your court. And please, call me Chris.

Paul, baby Retics are much more tempermental than raising...say...an American colubrid. Those who don't have experience with them should do alot of homework/research before purchasing one. Especially a baby. Have you had extensive experience with Retics or was this your first. Some snakes take longer to get feeding and the conditions have to be suitable.

Hey Michael, I got 2 small mice and she would not eat or kill either 1 , I rotated them thinking maybe 1 didn't smell right or something, I ended up giving them to the ball pythons I have. She is still mean ass hell, all she does is strike at the mice when it gets too close to her and then the mouse stays in the corner and she doesn't go after it. Saturday and Sunday I left the mouse in for about 5 hours and about 3am I woke up and she still hasn't eaten. I don't know what to do, Paul

Concerning the bold text, that's not a very good idea. Assuming that you do have some sort of quarantine system set up, passing feeders back and forth pretty much negates it.

Hey Michael, I sold my sunfire today, not really wanting anymore snakes right now, this restaurant is wearing me out, just send me the 325 in the mail to Paul Adams 627 Thorncliff dr York SC 29745, thanks

While I agree that the seller definitely dropped the ball big-time in regards to issuing a timely refund, it appears that you got exactly what you had previously agreed to.

I'm not sure that everyone would consider an animal that has only eaten twice to be very well-started. But the gist of your emails seems to imply a lack of interest/time in putting much effort into working with it. Kinda hard to say if that animal wasn't established well enough to have been sold, or if it's more like buyer's remorse on your part.

Ultimately, it seems that you received the refund amount that you had agreed to. Maybe you should leave well enough alone.

Paul,
The purples will be ready to go soon, they are starting to shed I will send you some pics where you can pick . I do not have any platinum het albinos . The purples are the best I have produced so far. I told you 375.00 shipped on the one you have a deposit on. I think you still owe 75.00 on it . If you want a mate for it I will sell you one for 400.00 and you can ship them together . They are so nice I am selling the rest for 500.00 each to any one else. I will send you some pics by this weekend .

Paul,
Here are the best two females . They are better than the female I sold a few months ago you liked. If you want a male let me know. I need to get a meal or so in them before I ship, they just shed.

Chris, some one emailed me personally that doesn't want to be named, so I respect their wishes, Paul

Then leave that person, and the information provided, out of this thread. Anonymous third party statements are not allowed on the BOI.

Paul, it's likely that you are the reason she did not eat. The emails posted show you handling her the day after she arrived, and trying to feed her five days after she arrived. Standard practice is to allow a new snake at least a week to settle in and acclimate before feeding, and anywhere from two weeks up to six months before handling for anything other than maintenance(depending on your personal philosophy towards snakes). I think it is safe to assume you handled it more than just the one time. Either way, not allowing a proper acclimation period will make finicky species not take food(BP's, young Retics, etc.). This is something that should have been researched on your end before purchase.I also think Michael could have done a better job of making sure you knew this and were prepared to give his snake the best start you could. But it seems with your restaurant that it worked out better this way for the snake anyway. As for the refund, you agreed to $325. Given that the reason for it not eating is most likely on you, I would be hesitant to refund that portion also. Form all I've seen, refunding shipping is rare anyway and is covered in most sellers TOS, what does his TOS state about it?

Why are we not recieving pictures of the set up for this baby? Ball pythons and retics are VERY different... I babysat a friends retic for two months over a summer, and she was the most finicky, picky, and nasty animal. I went to his house every day to care for her, and couldnt get her to eat a thing while he was gone. When he came back, he adjusted her temps just a few degrees, and she was eating in a few days! These are unpredictable and highly sensitive animals, I think maybe the buyer was just having a little difficulty is all.

Honestly, (and don't quote me on this, as I may have missed a post or some information somewhere) after such a long time period (sold in summer, complaint in winter) what declares that the seller has to refund? Especially after the buyer has declared satisfaction? I realize that a snake not eating is an extremely big deal, but what declares the time where it isnt the sellers responsability anymore?

Paul only had the snake a little over 2 weeks , he offered it food 2- 3 days later after getting her .Some times they eat right away sometimes they don't .They can be finicky eaters at first especially in a new environment, Paul did not give it enough time to try to make it work with the snake he didn't have the patients for it.

Thank you for correcting my really really far off time guess! I need to work on my reading comprehension... But I didnt even think you were supposed to try and feed until they started leaving the hide... maybe I'm just hearing rumors around
