In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

michael taylor boas etc BAD GUY

I find it funny he never mentioned keeping this snake in Qt or what vet he consulted on this matter.. Maybe its because its all his fault...

Looks like the OP has lost heart in his fight. That or he just wanted to stir a crap pot and bug out.

I'd like to see him come back and do some more splainin. I'd hate to think all he wanted to do just start crap and bail.

Humidity

The OP mentions that the room itself that holds all of these tubs has an ambient humidity of 65-75%. What I am wondering is how this is possible without the drywall rotting out and collapsing...

Or, is he fibbing?

Have you gone to the vet yet, danny?

Gino Beniquez

Well anything is possible so there is a very very way way far far out chance that the animal had some problems when the OP received it, hey I said anything is possible.. Now the OPs profile says he's from Wyoming, being from that part of the country and having kept snakes out there I know that there isn't much humidity except when your standing out in the rain. It's dry country and really really dry in the winter even the snow is dry lol. I suppose it is possible he runs a humidifier in his snake room but even using that it would be hard to raise the humidity up to 65% or more. I know I always had a hard time keeping the humidity up in my cages and couldn't imagine trying to keep a room that humid.

The spam emails through KS are way over the top !!

I purchased a salmon jungle het albino and a jungle het albino from Mike Taylor last month, and I am very satisfied with the transaction. He send me accurate pics of both boas prior to me sending him the money. He has spent several hours over the phone with me before and after the purchase answering all questions about the particular boas, the bloodline history, and general snake talk. I would feel comfortable recommending Mike to my friends, and well as future purchases for myself.

SSBOAS/ P. Rothenbach

Just wanted to post a positive experience I had with Mike Taylor. I purchased a male jungle from Mike in Daytona 06. He wouldnt eat for me for a month. Mike agreed to take him back and send me another male that did great.

One thing's for sure. There are lots of satisfied customers with Mr. Taylor, more that I have seen for any other vendor in a while.

Regards

This will be my only and last post on this. I will cover every ? and give the
proper timeline.

I received the snake, within 3 to 4 days the snake was and turned super dry.
No matter what environment the snake was in, it would not dry the snake out
that fast. Shipping would. I am very confident the bottom line is this snake
was not robust and established enough to be shipped. The people on this post
saying the conditions of 80 degrees and 90degrees is wrong, with paper towels
substrate misting and humidifying is WRONG~! That's a laugh. You are saying
that what has worked successfully for a majority of the breeders are
incorrect. LMAO Boas are very hearty and resilient, and yes they can be kept
at a variety of temps. I also don't know even how old this snake is bc he
never sent id/feed/shed cards like he said he would. Maybe they have Peruvian
blood and doesn't want me to know. lol

The snake getting dried out and not eating for a month is the issue. Then the
bad shed. I bought 2 that's TWO snakes from Boas Etc michael taylor. 20 other
snakes have been and are thriving in my set ups for over 2 years, w/o a single
problem. Now for the short attention span people who commented on here and the
poor reading comprehension people I will state this again........... I DID NOT
SAY MICHAEL AND HIS COMPANY (HE IS HIS COMPANY) WILL NOT SEND YOU A HEALTHY
SNAKE. Here's the most important part.... Listen UP~! IMPORTANT PART. WHEN
ONE OF HIS SNAKES HAS A PROBLEM WHICH WAS WITHIN A FEW DAYS>>> THIS IS
HOW HE
HANDLED IT~! MAKE SENSE? Also he gave me the song and dance, " I stand
behind my snakes and keep me posted on his condition. I didn't take it to the
vet bc He made it seem that if there was a problem he would take the animal
back. He offered no suggestions NOTHING~!

I did soak the snake 3 seperate times. I would not peel it off in the chance
that actual scales would come off too. If soaking and normal misting and
hyrdation doesn't get it off..... Then it AIN'T ready to come off. Boas
get
sick slowly and get better even slower. Talk to the best boa guys in the
country...It's what they will tell you.

What breeder..... who actually provides good customer service tells a
customer..." Don't make this a situation" after the first time I asked
to
return the snake for a healthy one? If, as michael says, buyers remorse ..
lmao Why didn't I ask for my money back? Or better yet for both? I love the
female and said i did. I wasn't happy with the male bc he looked sick so fast.
He was definitely less than maintenance fed bc he was scary skinny and
Michaels definition of a KILLER deal... You're right it killed any future
business with you for sure and for everyone I know too. Those who were happy
with him good for you... too bad he wasn't cool or good to me. We spoke many
times on the phone and gave the same story every time. Then within 2 more
weeks following, he sends me an email, I contacted my attorney. CONTACTED AN
ATTORNEY... Instead of customer service and making it right.... LMAO GUILTY~!
DUH~! The only person who needs and attorney is guilty first off. Second
then chooses that over just sending a healthy snake and taking him back is
what 55 plus people breeders said they would have done after the snake not
eating for a month. Then michael calls me up on the phone, as soon as I
clicked the on button starts screaming...."You fn A&&hole I am huge
in this
business, I will squash you you little turd. I do this for a living" etc and
hangs up. What breeder calls a buyer and does that? Here's reality...maybe
michael couldn't afford to make it right. Maybe he's in over his head blowing
out snakes at really low prices to survive...rats cost a lot if you're buying
good quality food. Maybe the litters didn't come as abundant as he thought
full time breeding would be. Here's the point........Any breeder who says
don't make this a situation is already exposing their hand/situation. Then on
top of that throws the attorney bit etc blah blah blah and is defensive like
that... hhmmm Calls and screams at a buyer. Sounds like, reality finally set
in that michael is a guppy in the world of boas. All the claims he told me I
checked and were, let's say less than true by far.

Lastly I will say, the only thing that counts is this snake. I have a vet
appointment. The best vet I could find was out on vacation for 2 weeks and
didn't have an appointment until this next monday. I will take care of my
problem and michael can maybe take care of his. I also emailed people on
kingsnake to warn them so they don't get burnt like I did. Buyers need to warn
everyone of people that pull this kind of stuff. I got so many many emails
almost a 100 thanking me. Everyone here can make their own opinions all they
want. Everyone's an expert. michael DEFINTELY ABSOLUTELY DESERVES THE BAD GUY
RAP for sending a snake he probably shouldn't have, telling me don't make
this
a situation after asking to take the snake back and send a healthy one,
threatening me with attorney bs which is the biggest laugh of all...he would
need the attorney if I chose to press charges from his harassing phone call
which I had company over to hear bc I put him on speaker. So if you think this
approach and behavior is acceptable after spending $2200 with a breeder, not
that the money matters so much but, then make your own decision.

Good God Man step away from the key board... Look If you knew as much about boas as you claim in your "book" you just posted. The snake in your care would have never been in such bad shape. You have argued with alot of very knowledable boa breeders and keepers. If you would shut up and stop argueing with everyone you might learn something. You came here for help. We did not come looking for you....

So because one person (you) had a bad experience, despite all the people who are greatly satisfied by their dealings with Mr. Taylor he should suddenly be slapped with a giant red stamp and deemed a bad vendor? All that aside, sir, no offense, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to believe that you are so very special Mr. Taylor feels the need to treat you so completely differently from the way his other customers report him handling them. There is no one else here reporting anything but excellent service from this vendor and quite frankly, the more people step up and make that claim the less credible it makes you look. I'm not questioning your honesty, as I don't doubt you're having some kind of problem here. . .but is it possible this is getting blown up bigger than it is?

I know you've already posted your last post but you really should post the results of the vet report when you get it. It could go a long way in support of your position.

I can understand your disappointment. I honestly don't think your expectations are in line with the reality of this business, though. We're not dealing with manufactured durable goods here. We're dealing with individuals, individuals with varying degrees of knowledge, honesty, and expertise. Individuals, buying and selling living animals sight unseen, sent back and forth from great distances. Individuals with many different definitions for the terms and standards commonly used. A business where there are no real measurable standards and more variables than you can count. It's one big crap shoot.
You need to step back and think about your part in this. Hopefully, you'll be able to realize a better more rational grasp of reality before you throw down 4 figures on a snake.
Been doing this since the 60's, myself. Learn something new every day.

A. LaBelle unless your first name is A which I doubt, you might want to add your whole name to your post so they are not deleted.. Randy

Daniel, do you have any proof of what you stated in your last post?? Proof is always helpful especially when fighting an uphill battle like you are now... If and that's a good sized If-- there was something wrong with the snake when you got it you just ran into the big problem many have had here in the past. IE waiting to long to bring your problem here and not keeping Emails Etc to back up your story. They don't ever come to the BOI till there is a problem so they have no idea what they needed to do and what they needed to provide to make their case.

Now you could be right about what you say but you have to look at it from our perspective. You come here and make accusations about someone that seems to be well known and respected in the Boa world. You are and unknown and have no proof to back up your statements and to top it off you let it get you all riled up and pissed off and well you've seen where that got you here. If your right and Michael ever does someone else wrong this thread will pop up and it will help that persons case. I know it doesn't do you much good but without something to substantiate your claims it's likely all you'll get.

Now don't get your bowels in an uproar folks but there is something we should all remember and that is folks like Chris Johnson of TSE and his ilk IE good guys that went bad. I for one can no longer just dismiss any claim someone makes just because the person mentioned is a known Good Guy. Just as here in this thread I want to dismiss the claims made but there is that little doubt that we all should have that makes me wonder... Randy

Yes I do have emails and pictures of the snake and husbandry of where the animal is kept. I will be posting more actual proof. The emails between me and Michael I will be posting. Michael used alot of peoples names in the emails and I don't want to put them in the middle of it without their permission. As soon as I get permission from these people I will post the emails.

Sorry for you situation. I have purchased multiple snakes from Michael and had the exact opposite experience. He was always prompt, cordial and professional in his interactions with me. I've purchased high-end animals from him on three separate occasions and was quite satisfied his customer service and the animals were exactly as he represented them to be. I recently discovered that some of the other breeders I know also know Michael, and their opinions of him were also quite high.

Of course I cannot comment directly on the details of your transaction. I only offer the following comment based on your commentary about the bad shed. On occasion when I have had snakes that have incomplete sheds, I typically do as you did, and soak them to loosen the remaining skin. However, I will then manually remove the skin, as opposed to allowing it to remain, hoping the snake eventually manages it for himself. Unshed skin traps moisture and creates an warm, damp environment where bacteria can thrive and create severe problems for the snake.

Best of luck to you. I hope he recovers and thrives under your care.
