In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Michelle R. Korvel - Do not sell to her !!!

Michelle, you've mentioned price several times, but again with no details.

How much were you quoted? How much were you charged? Did you order online? Is John now DEMANDING more money due to the chargeback?

Do you have a quote, an invoice, or anything to show that the price you were quoted wasn't the price you were charged?

Were there any emails that state the issues you had had with the feeders or did you only use phone calls as a means to contact him? Is there any possible chance that during the course of the two weeks you had the feeders before you opened them that they became freezer burnt or thawed somehow and had a chance to start decaying? Did you take any pictures of the feeders before you threw them out as a means to show the seller the issue you were having with them? How much was the original purchase and what was the amount that was charged to you? Answering these questions will GREATLY help all the folks following this thread, including myself, understand what went down between receiving the feeders and the resulting charge back on the credit card.

I know it's frustrating to be in a spotlight like this, you're one of only two people that ACTUALLY know what happened and because of that people can only respond to the information they're given and when neither party wants to give up any details about the situation, it gets very frustrating for us as well. We all would like to get to the bottom of this as much as you so shedding a little light on the details will help EVERYONE reach a better conclusion on the matter. I can walk you through copy and pasting messages from your email and/or phone if you don't quite know how, I think that would be a good start to getting this resolved.

Why no pictures???? If it's bad enough to throw out and initiate a charge back, it's enough to snap a couple pics.

And further more, if the product was covered in urine and feces (both highly visible through clear plastic) why did those make it out of the box and into the freezer!?? If food is dirty, you don't keep it. You don't keep it and then decide weeks later that it's too dirty.

Five or six years ago we lost power in the middle of the night. Outage lasted a couple hours, but was on when we woke up the next morning. Only thing telling about the power interruption was the microwave blinking that morning. Well, guess what? That next week, when I went to pull out feeders? Black guts and stinky from thawing and re freezing. We upgraded from a regular freezer/fridge combo in the basement to a chest freezer that week.

This sounds like human error on Michelle Korbel's part and then she decided she wanted to take her money back.

Michelle, you've posted an awful lot here for someone that doesn't care what we think. Is this how you talk to people that respond to your "Plenty of Fish" profile too?

Erg.

Should say "you DONT GET to keep it and decide weeks later it's too dirty"

My family member received the package and put the contents away. I did not inspect them until I needed them, approximately 2 weeks later. No e-mails as the price quote and promise was done by John Callaham via phone.

He was contacted via phone about the problem of being over charged. He proceeded to get quiet nasty, calling me childish (because I called him on the matter), said that's how a business is ran, said he would no longer communicate with me, then hung up on me. I figured I'd let the over charge go and never use them again because he obviously couldn't keep his word.

When I accessed my freezer for the feeders is when I noticed their nasty condition. Fecal matter in the bag, no big deal. It's expected to have a few. But, there were more than a few present. As with them being yellow from urine, once again, that can be expected on one or two, but a whole bag (4 bags to be exact), that's not what I call "clean" healthy feeders.

When a batch if feeders were thawed (on Saturday 11/23/13, almost 2 weeks after receiving them on 11/13/13) I noticed all 15 feeders had charcoal black tummies. With them being double bagged for the thaw process, the smell was obviously not present, at least not to me. Once I opened the Ziploc bag, I was practically thrown to my:censored: with the smell. It reminded me of finding a dead mouse in the garage that's been there a few days. Mind you, one only one of my snakes (11 in total) ate a feeder, the rest resisted and tried to flee (hissing and puffing up their body).

After that occur acne, I proceeded to contact John Callaham, calling the main number to MiceDirect, on 3 occasions, in a weeks time. He never once returned my calls nor did he reply to the email address I left. I assume he was keeping his word (finally).

Without him willing to return my calls nor communicate with me, I then proceeded to my back to file a dispute. Was informed by my bank to not communicate with him because it was now a dispute claim. They issued me a new card and I went about my day.

The feeders were thrown out due to needing space for healthy feeders. I never thought to take pictures. My brain is fried with schooling and other personal matters (I know, no excuse)

The reason the State Troopers were brought into the situation... John Callaham saw it as being a fit thing to do on his end. Once the troopers called me, I informed the officer the he was harassing me, constantly calling and e-mailing. I told the officer the story and what had transpired, invited him to check my freezer ( which was done and none of their feeders were found, go figure) John was informed several times to cease contact, he did not heed my warning. The trooper I dealt with call him (John) and informed him not to contact me, what he was doing is harassment. Regardless if their are in the same state or not, harassment is harassment.

I can only provide a few screen shots to the amount of calls that were placed to my phone. The blocking app I downloaded crashed, hence the reason I'm waiting for the phone company to send copies.

Also, to add, he is demanding more money for his poor customer service and not communication. This whole problem could have been avoided if he just maned up. Plain and simple.

If someone wants to assist me in uploading what screen shots I have of his excessive calling, I'd be more then happy to show them.:shrug01:

I don't think anyone really cares about the excess of phone calls.

What really is important are the details of this transaction.

So how many feeders were ordered? What size? What was the first price quote? What were you finally charged? You said you agreed all of this via telephone?

It's a big deal for you to say that they over charged you AND sent poor quality product.
If you want us to know what happened, you have to tell us exactly what happened. Otherwise, your name is forever (and google yourself--I'm not kidding) attached to a bad guy "Do Not Sell" warning.

Let's try to stay on subject now that I'm giving details. If it doesn't pertain to anything about the poor quality feeders or extremely poor customer service, it needs not to be brought into the forum.

I can continue on, or I can stop with what information I've given, which would you prefer?

This is becoming a personal attack, hence the reason I'm being defensive. Like stated in a prior post, just because it's a business doesn't mean to :censored: on your customer after you've received the money. He's not in the right.

But don't be concerned, I'll let the Fauna jury judge the situation since seeing I'm already the bad guy.

Trooper took the original document (receipt). I can't tell the exact amount of feeders, but, I do recall him agreeing to the price per bag. One was supposed to be $19 per bag and the other $16. Grand total was $204. Once I get my information back from the trooper I can scan and attach.

Are you alleging the feeders smelled that bad and you offered them as food?

I've never done frozen feeders, only live when I owned reptiles in Florida. I didn't know if it was normal until a local breeder told me they were rotten.

I will take blame for that, since seeing the snake that consumed that feeder has now missed 12 straight feeds. It's my fault for not researching how frozen feeders should appear.

Really? Are you in charge of preparing your family's meals at home? You've never come across a bad piece of meat? If something smelled that bad, would you eat it?

So did you initiate the chargeback before or after this alleged local breeder gave you alleged advice about the alleged bad feeders?

No one is perfect and everyone is entitled to make mistakes! So, now chew my :censored: out because I didn't know then what condition a frozen feeder would be classified as bad. Thanks anyways, already feel like :censored: about my snake.

Funny you didn't mention the alleged conference with the breeder who allegedly taught you what rotten is in your PM to me that I posted above.

"I proceeded to thaw out another batch (11 feeders from a different bag that were also a different size) with the same results, none of my snakes would touch the feeders.
I tried to contact John once again with no response, so I went to my bank to dispute the charge. With no call back from John, I threw the feeders in the garbage and ordered from a different company."

I think you are making this all up. You have yet to show any proof of anything. In the PM to me you say you have proofs of misdoings, that you have emails of the seller threatening to expose information:

"also sent several emails threatening to release my personal information to the public, etc."

Put up or shut up.

Read a few responses back. I asked if anyone could help with putting the information on! Also, in the messages with you, if you retread those as well! I clearly stated some information may be missing in what I wrote!

If you're not willing to help me post his treat to post my name here and all of his harassing calls, then I suggest the same to you as well. Put up, or shut up.

I'm now officially done... I've taken your advice and gave my story, I've asked for help posting the pictures. Like I stated, it's obviously not going to work.

Point proven.
