In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi Craig,

Nothing new to report at this time. The problem/situation still stands where it left off. I truely do not believe Mike will ever make good or do the right thing. Thank you for your interest in my thread. Hopefully, one day, it will have a good ending.

Thanks,

Julie

Hi Julie,

I have not heard lately how the chameleon is that you received. Did you keep him? Is he doing okay? What was the final opinion of what locale the panther might be? Were you ever able to confirm that it may be a cross? I have been following this thread and was just curious. Do you have a current photo of him?

Hi Brian,

The panther is doing fine and his rostral area has healed nicely leaving very little scarring. Yes, I do still have him to this day. So far, the opinions I have received on his locale crossing is an Ambanja crossed with either Sambava or Tamative. In order to determine his cross of locales for sure, I would have to put out some serious bucks on very detailed DNA tests. At this point, I am not willing to lose anymore than I already have on this bad deal with no assurance of a reimbursement for the tests that would be needed. I do not have a current photo of him at this time, but I will be taking one pretty soon.

Julie

Hi Brian,

I did forget an important fact in the last reply. The person that Mike bought this panther from had even posted in an ad that they were crosses. This to me, is proof enough.

Julie

Julie, I'm sure that you already have come to the conclusion that Mike is not going to do anymore regarding your trade. Although it may not help your situation, rest assured, I will never do any business with Mike. I have seen some ads of his that have interested me, however, he is now labeled a scam artist and a "bad guy" in my book. I'm also hoping that other people here see him for what he is and choose to take their business else where as well.

Julie:

I have been very patient and tolerant of all the mud slinging and defamation of my name and character. I would like to post my final words on this transaction. I have stated from the beginning that the chameleon was in great health and that the marks on his nose were not present when shipped. Therefore it must have happened in the box. I was accused of switching animals and knowing this animal had a prior condition. You had statements from your vet that it was definitely an old wound, etc… I was totally turned off when those accusations were made, and I went on the defensive. We now know that it has healed “nicely” and the animal was in no danger. You have had him for over a month with no problems. This only shows that the chameleon I sent you was, and still is very healthy. Chameleons on occasion do get scrapes, and from experience I knew he was fine and the marks on his nose would go away after he shed. In hind-site, I should have been more tolerant of your personality. In reference to the locale of the animal, I have stated that I represented the chameleon exactly as the importer represented it to me. I did not breed the animal, and as you stated, only a DNA test would determine the locale of this animal, if he is a cross or a non-cross. Your vet said he knew what cross it was, based on a picture you sent him…. I was very disappointed to hear a professional say something so reckless and unfounded. I fully admit that I am definitely not at that level of “chameleon locale” expertise …no one is. You even called the wholesaler that I purchased the chameleon from, and he told you that I had no prior knowledge of it being crossed. To this day we are not able to make that claim. I have seen many color variations among Red Ambanjas and to me this is another variation. Unless we could get the person who actually put the animals together to tell us what the sire and dam were, I would label him a Red Ambanja. I would love to see a photo of the animal. He was a gorgeous animal and I am glad that he is doing well. I have noticed during this thread that not one person has asked how the animal was doing. I am glad finally someone did. The animals are our primary responsibility and concern. In closing, Julie – I very much wanted you and the animal to be happy. I did not try to rip you off, or pull a fast one. Everything I told you was true, and I did not misrepresent the chameleon in any way. I am glad the animal is doing great.

Mike

So Mike,

If you goal is to have happy customers teamed up with animals they want, why didn't you just trade back with her when she asked you to do so? She wasn't happy with what she got (for whatever reason), and she wanted her animals back? Why didn't you do the right thing and trade back with her?

In all this mess about where the animal originated, vet statements, and nose rubs, you have lost sight of one very important factor. You advertised animals for sale that you KNEW were rightfully Julie's animals. I say they were rightfully hers because she was unhappy with your end of the trade from day one! I've never seen a trade that didn't have a "trade back" opportunity if the animals that show up are not what either party in the trade was anticipating.

I don't believe the rub on the nose was from shipping because when she posted the pictures, it was already turning black from healing. It was not a raw, fresh wound. Even so, assuming for the sake of argument that it WAS done during shipment, you STILL should have traded her back if that's what she wanted. Those Panthers were HER animals until the deal was done to both side's satisfaction. This has never occured, and you had no right placing those animals up for sale!

Sugar it up all you want, Mike. The fact of the matter is, you traded an animal to someone who, upon inspection, was unsatisfied with the trade, and wanted her animals back. Instead of doing the right thing here, you just basically said "too bad" and proceeded to sell the animals that she wanted back! That's pretty low in my book.

Excellent post Darin! Mike, it does not matter what spin you try to put on it, defamation of character, mud slinging (yeah right&#33 whatever, you blatantly ripped Julie off! She was not happy with what she received and she expressed that from the very beginning! The trade should have been terminated right then and there. Never mind the fact that the animal was received with an OLD injury, not something that happened during shipping.

Anyone that reads this thread in it's entirety will see what type of person you really are. You have no defense IMHO!

As I said, when I see an ad for Chameleon Condo on here or on KS it is the same to me as an ad for Jesse Underhill. I, for one, will make sure I let everyone I do business wtih know about this thread and Mike's business practices.

Mike,

You may have stated this but this does not make it all true (meaning the nose rub). The vet did state that the nose rub was old, for this to have happened during shipping. Why did the vet state this? Because, the wound would have been fresh and raw looking and would not have been in the healing process already with the black scabbing upon my receipt. I would like to know how you could predict that the nose rub would not become infected in some way for you to say it was not a health issue when this thread first started? Also, why would you go on the defense because of what the vet said about the nose run being old? It has only rung true to what was said as others in this thread have given their opinions or expertise in dealing with rubs/wounds and the healing process along with what the vet said about the panther being a cross (hybrid). I don't see why I should second guess the vet on this when there seems to be truth in this also, according to others opinions/expertise or whatever you may call it. The vet has seen this male panther in person that you sent me (among other vets and breeders) and has not budged on his being a hybrid. You may label him a Red Ambanja without proof that he is. But without proof that he is, I will not do the same.

Mike,

You know nothing of my personality. I have made purchases on-line from several people and 1 trade in the beginning of the year and never had a problem with their animals or the quality of, until our trade. When I feel I am being ignored in a deal/trade for my animals that is not up to par, I am going to tell you what is on my mind, like most people would. I am no different, just because I am a female. I am a very passive and laid back person, but I will speak up when I feel I have been done wrong.

At this point, I can see that you still do not plan to do anything but try to defend yourself with no solution, in any way, to this situation. This only shows your personality, and your business ethics to everyone. By the way, how are my chameleons doing and do you still have them? In our phone conversation, you stated that you were going to keep them as pets/breeders and did not plan on selling them. What happened there, as you did post my male on KS? I guess this was just another lie or is it that I am the one lying.

I tried to settle this, even before coming here and starting this thread. To no prevail, you would not do anything (reverse the trade or even suggest doing anything else) to resolve this. I will say once again, I did not defam your name or your character. You did this on your own by not resolving the situation in any way, shape, or form, even to this day. I simply posted my dealing with you and defended myself from your lies.

Julie

Go Julie!
Tolerant of her personality--LMAO!!! Julie is completely laid back and very polite. We've all seen some of her emails to Mike--all well mannered and considerate, especially considering the circumstances!
