Hmm, I've noted some security flaws in the way that PayPal does their business. Based on the above, do you believe that it is OK if I scam some people to show PayPal how easy it is to do? Using a fake ID, of course......
kmurphy said:Rich, I'll preface by saying that I have utmost respect for you, this site and what you've done for herpetology in general, but security flaws and site rules are two different things. You can't equate the two IMO. I'm not trying to defend Mike I'm just not ready to write him off. My pendulum swings slower than other's I guess.

Do you really believe Mike will come here to address Wes, "face to face"?
I don't.

I think Wes deserves the chance to address this.

As do mine. I would love to see what Wes has to say about this issue.Chameleon Company said:I suspect that his sense of fair play and mine overlap.

Not on this site. tags don't parse in PM's here. Someone would need to click on a link for you to do that.FunkyRes said:It's easier than that.
Send someone a PM that includes a 1x1 transparent gif hosted on a server for which you have the logs to. Then look at your logs to see what IP address requested the image.
That is why many modern e-mail clients (IE Thunderbird) will by default not load images in e-mail that are hosted on a remote server.

I didn't know that (not sure why anyone would want it when it's so easy to determine with one click). The rest of what I said is still correct either way.shrap said:Jim,
Just an FYI.... Firefox has an add-on that does just what Rick says.

Seriously though, why my opinion would have any bearing on what goes on between Rich and Wes is beyond me. Sounds more like someone just taking advantage of a situation and trying to pass the buck to me.
