In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Google Checkout. Paypal's new competitor.

That is a great idea; they are 100% free as well.

I always liked using Paypal, it was just easier at the end of the year to have all of the transaction through them. I just printed it all out for my taxes, but I have a real problem with a company that handles themselves in this manner.

As for Rich, thanks for doing what you have done here. It is awesome that you to transferred the hosting funds to this great cause.

I also want to thank everyone else that has got involved in this, regardless of how you are supporting this great cause. I am 110% proud of everyone that has shown up here to help these people in a time of need, and I proud to be a part of such a great community.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

I'm not saying Paypal did or did not suspend Mikes Mothers account~ but sending some money to it and it saying it sent it does not mean they did not. I could be wrong but as I understand it they will still accept money INTO a suspended account but not allow it OUT except as refunds to complaints filed until all complaints are "resolved"~ that way a "Mistake" can be rectified without stopping thier cash inflow or a customer can transfer money INTO the account to cover the complaints and get thier account back into good standing (I beleive it is set up this way for legitimate transactions gone wrong......not for scammers who would never transfer money back INTO thier accounts to cover refunds).

The email Cory submitted showing that Mikes Mothers account could still transfer money OUT was dated 11/25~ so at THAT time the account was not suspended.....but it MAY be now.

You can't use that if you sell on Ebay though.
Ebay has a policy that no other online payment method can be used. No Bidpay, Google Checkout, etc.

They way it works now, Ebay provides a forum for scammers to list bogus ads and Paypal provides a way for scammers to take peoples money. And the company gets it's fees from both services.

Out for themselves with no regards to the person who got ripped off.

Thank you, Cheryl. That is a much better alternative than the one I had in mind. I didn't realize they would do this, and whether or not they actually froze that account, it eases my mind a bit.

A little good news this morning on the Ebay front. Underneath Mike's user name, matchbox315, it says

NO LONGER A REGISTERED USER

Perhaps the threat of everyone making a mass exodus to Google gave them a nudge? Personally, I never use Ebay (may have once a billion years ago, which I have forgotten)so would have no problem switching to Google and encouraging my friends and associates to make the switch.

This little story would be all that was needed to convince people that Ebay and Paypal were not as safe as it is/was assumed.

Yeah, it really sucks. Ebay is getting really weird - I had an item I was trying to sell - a big bulky piece of clothing, so the shipping was a little above what THEY considered to be normal for the "category". So, even though people were bidding on my item, they closed the auction because my shipping cost was too high.

I asked why, no response. At least they didn't make me pay for the auction.

But because of all the stories I've heard about PayPal in transaction disputes, I've used one of my credit cards as the payment funding source each time I use it for Ebay auctions. Good thing I did, because one auction I received an item from didn't "work as described", but Paypal was ready to close the dispute in the seller's favor simply because I did RECEIVE the item. I sent all the paperwork to my credit card showing the "guarantee" in the listing, my CC issued a chargeback and MAGICALLY PayPal suddenly changed their decision to my favor. Because they had to, since the CC had already issued them the chargeback.

I'm not happy with the customer service and treatment both companies have been going towards in the last two years.

Mike was hosting through Rich and had just recently renewed. Rich cancelled his hosting and donated the balance to the fund.

I guess I should explain my reasoning here. Based on the overwhelming evidence in this thread of wrong doing via Ebay, I felt pretty strongly that the opportunity for his website on my server to very likely be used for scams as well was just to great to risk. True or or just potentially so, I just could not take the risk that I would be made part of such activities in that manner.

That's wonderful news! Now, let's hope he can't set up another account with an alias!!!!

All I have to say is...be very careful who you buy things from online. I realize that the majority of you folks have legitimate businesses and/or have bought and sold over the internet with no problems (except when dealing with Mike), but you never know when you will run into a scam!

As for Mike jeez I can't believe this has gone on as long as it has.. Sadly have to give the guy credit for playing folks like a fiddle he sounds like a real pro at this game and no he wouldn't and never will kill himself(at least not unless someone sort of helps him) It was just a tool to use just like the tools we all use at our work to get the job done.. Unfortunately he used those tools on people we know here and respect but if it hadn't been these folks it would have been someone else as this is what the Mike's of this world do they Play you for their advantage.. I want to try and give some insight into Mike and why we were friends for so long without any strong of knowledge of his wrong doing.

In most cases Mike would try to weasel money out of his "friends" within six months of their friendship. He would be caught in his lies and ripoffs quickly and that would be the end of the friendship. I never gave Mike that chance. He was never given money no matter how poor and distraught he was. I was never in the financial situation to do so and simply said "sucks to be you" (literally). I knew Mike for a couple of years, it was not until after Cory brought a girl home that I learned of Mike's Power of Attorney over his mother. Before then Mike would tell me he would ask for money from his mother and she never had much because his siblings were using it. Cory let this go on. Not once when I was in Arizona with them did Cory ever speak up about Mike's siblings taking his money, we had that conversation. So Cory acted as a witness to Mike's good deeds. Cory turned a blind eye to all of this.

Mike is to be in court today over some of his domestic disturbance with Cory, yet Cory told me he is not going to show up to court.

I did not have a need to call so many people and find out what lies he told until he involved me in his fake suicide text messages. I did not need to question Mike about his mother, the terrible things he told me about Cory's girlfriend. I have known (thought I knew) Mike for a couple of years.

Mike has his ways of manipulation. When he wants you to believe his side of the story, he will use personal information shared to him by the other person and use it against them. Causing one to believe Mike is the better of the two evils. Mike shared information about others to me that should never have been told to anybody, but to create a more dramatic affect he adds a lie to the story that is bad enough that you would not even bother to call and find out the truth. To say Mike can make you hate a person you have never met is an understatement.

I always kept an open mind about his stories, I would ask Mike if he was just pissed at them and going off and he would admit that he was upset and going too far. To me he was truthful (so I thought) and would even admit he said things that he should not have.

After Mike told me about his Ebay scam, he stopped answering my calls and that was before my first post in this thread. I had a lot of questions to ask him and I wanted to hear it from him.

It was clear that I was Mike's friend, but he was not my friend.

Funny thing though, is that Tere and I have become friends because of Mike's lies. He sent me her phone number in the fake suicide text messages. She has to be one of the sweetest ladies I have met and I can only but wait to embrace the fun stories in life we have yet to share with each other.

I will make one thing clear, looking back into the past, I do not regret being Mike's friend. When I give someone my friendship I will have fun. Mike and I laughed a whole lot over little things, we spent countless hour on the phone sharing stories. Going out to Arizona with my wife and hanging out in Tombstone was one of my favorite memories in life. I have fun pictures, which Tere has now seen. Trust me when I say I did not waste my time, these last 5 or so months only gives me more stories to laugh about (even though what he did was despicable). Never did I think I would personally be good friends with someone like him, just something else to laugh about in the future.

Take a look of all the many threads on the BOI, there are tons of bad internet dealings, not just Mike. Many of us here have been scammed on the internet, that is why we stay and help out others with their bad dealings.

I only have one thing to say before I start bawling. Michael, you have been a huge source of support for me through this. I feel as though I have found real friends in you and your wife, friends that last a lifetime.

I almost feel the need to tell Mike thanks. Because of him and his shenanigans, I have met and become friends with some truly wonderful people...you know, the kind of people that deserve to be called friends.

Michael (and I do mean Shelton), thank you.

As most of you know, now, Michael and Tere are both good solid people who know how important trust and honesty are to maintaining a relationship.

It's a damn shame mikey has this pathological need to be such a weeny but I am glad to see a new friendship blossom out of his weeniness.

Well, my thoughts have changed a bit about one thing. Cory was not as big a victim as I once thought, if he knew what Mike was doing, then he was not that great of a guy either. I also always had a problem with Cory and mike both leaching. Using Tere's good heart to sponge off of her, that’s just wrong. Both of them are grown adults AKA Men, they needed to support themselves, instead the leached off Tere.

So, word up Cory, I don't think your diaper is clean in this either, something smells real bad in this with you as well.

So basically....Mike is like a good quality bag of manure. You understand that you're dealing with a lot of crap and quite possibly may not understand the full benefits of dealing with it at the time.....but in the end you wind up with something thats really extra special.

Manure Mike. I have to see if my landscapers can fetch him and bury him under my garden.
