    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Mike Webb Southern Serpants Bad Guy

Just a heads up an a bad guy. I shipped some turtles to mike on a trade for some snakes. I shipped Tues. 12/10/02 for a weds. 12/11/02 delivery mike was suposed to ship Thursday 12/12/02 or Friday 12/13/02 (I requested he not ship on friday for saturday delivery). Then I get this Email.
I'm having a bit of a problem, I can't get any of the shipping companies to guarantee a saturday delivery due to the holiday rush. They said that most of the packages were running late and it might be monday before it got delivered. But I will have them out monday mourning and I will through in an extra garter or two. Sorry for the inconvience and making you wait.

I replied that was fine I preferred a monday ship anyway. I had tried emailing him and calling him Monday evening to get the tracking number which he was suposed to email but got no answer. I called early Tuesday morning (got him out of bed) to make sure he had shipped he replied he had. So Tuesday I took off work to receive my snakes but no shipment came. I've been tring to reach him by phone and email ever since. This morning I called the phone number he provided me and was told by a female that mike wasn't there and would not be there any longer (he was a guest there) and she did not have another phone number for him. So looks like I got burned by a bad guy. If you know Mike Webb at Southern Serpents let him know I'm looking for him. If anyone has any contact information for him please advise.

Your 199% correct Neil. I was looking for your post ... lol. Really neil I had to get ahold of one Bad Guy so I can say "sorry I won't ship first because this Mike Webb screwed me one time" ... you see Neil losing my turtles is bad but If it would have been a "nice" snake I would be hopping all over the place.

Some pertinent information would be helpful here. Where did you ship your turtles? Any location information will make tracking him a lot easier. Also, have you had someone else call that number asking for this guy? It's possible he's only ducking YOU but would take a call from someon else.

Let us know what else you have on him, and maybe some of us can pull some strings to find him for you!

I don't know if this will help or not, as I don't know your location, but I met this guy(Mike Webb) at the Arkansas Reptile Show a few months back. I had a friend that was interested in glossy snakes and noticed a pair on a table for sale. I wouldn't have remembered his name, or what he calls his business, but I found his card while cleaning my wallet out a week or so ago. I remember talking to him about his animals and he said he usually did some local shows as well as he did the AR show and was planning on doing it the following year. He's a younger guy, I'd say around 20ish maybe and he was there with what I presume was his girlfriend. I wish I had kept his card now, but I threw it out no longer having a use for it. If you are in the area, or know someone in the area, like I said before, he said he did shows in his area in Texas, and will be at the AR show next year(if you can call that swap-meet a show).

I thought that name sounded familiar, but I was getting confused until I saw the address....

Well, if anyone finds Mike Webb, he still owes us $40 from over a year ago--almost 2. We emailed and emailed, called and called, and then finally he got his phone number disconnected. We even talked to mom and grandmom--then they stopped answering their phone.

If Arnie Thompson still reads this forum, they were scammed too for a lot more than we were. This was all on the old BOI so I do not know if it is still accessable.

I cannot believe this guy is at it again. He's a kid. $40 is nothing, but if I recall there were several people who's money was taken and of course, principle--theft is theft. And no explanation was ever given--no emails ever answered, no phone calls returned.

And those other numbers you found were probably other family memebers--if I remember correctly I had his mom's, grandmom's, and girlfreind's or something--his whole darn family lives on the same block or something. And even after explaining it all to his mom, she was not the least bit helpful. Grrrrrrrr......
It was a long time ago, so I probably tossed them, but I'll check.

Wait a minute.. MR. Kennedy I am sorry for what happened. There is a lot that happened that caused this. And IT WAS my fault that the deal went bad. A lot of family problems and other issues came up. I am sorry.. And penebaker that was a few years ago. It has come to my attention that just a few bad deals that were forgotton outweigh the hundreds of good deals I have made. I am sorry, every buisness has a bad deal or two. But I am willing to work it out. You can feel free to contact me at

Mike has apparently not seen this thread before today, or he says so, anyway. I think we'd all be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he makes good on these two issues as he has said that he will do.

Send Chris and Arnie Thompson their money back (a lot more than mine)....and I remember a few others--I just know that Chris and Arnie were trying to get ahold of you for a long time. In fact they emailed me recently and remembered you quite clearly....

There was no "bad deal"--the case with us and the Thompsons was we sent him money and he ran with it--never to be heard from again. That is no "whoa"--as if we never gave you a chance to talk--it was straight up theft. I guess you "forgot" that you took several people's money that year and had to get your phone disconnected because we all kept calling wondering where our animals or money was. He would hang up the phone or get his mom to answer and say he wasnt home. Mom was no help either : )
It was on the old BOI and now this one has been on for quite sometime. Is there any way to look up the old thread (it was back on the old site)?

$40 is no big deal, I'll give you that--but it was stolen and you took others for a lot more. Sure it was a few years ago, maybe you've changed, but you sure do not seem too apologetic or remorseful. Saying " just a few bad deals that were forgotton" should not "outweigh the hundreds of good deals I have made" does not give me much confidence in your "new" character or business habits.
If you really want to make ammends, you should "remember" your old "forgotten" "deals" and look these people up--apologize, and give them refunds--no matter how many years ago it was you stole from them.
