Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I did go ahead a call Mike Webb this morning. Our original trade was turtles for garters but he didn't have the garters now (I didn't ask why). He is susposed to ship me a rosy boa and some texas rats instead. It isn't the garters I wanted but by now I would be surprised to receive anything. He said he would contact me the first of the week and let me know when he is going to ship. I will post if anything arrives.
A couple quotes from Mike's reply

I won't go into all the details but I finally got something from Mike Webb of Southern Serpents. I sent Mike 9 turtles (valued at about $270.00) and received 3 young texas rat snakes and a young rosy boa. And all it took to get these snakes was 3 months. Our original trade was susposed to be for 20 checkerd garters but he didn't have them anymore.
He told me he was shipping UPS wednesday for thursday delivery so I took off work to receive them, but no snakes came and the tracking number he gave me didn't work. I called him thursday nite and he told me he had shipped them. After asking a few more questions I found out he had shipped USPS. This morning I called the post office and they did have a package to be delivered to me today. Not wanting to keep them in the box any longer than necessary. I went straight on and picked them up. I got a small box labeled crickets. When I opened it I had received the three small rat snakes and one small rosy boa. The box had no insulation or heat pack (nite temps here in the mid 30's and I told him that). I quess he thru in the mites for FREE.
To be honest I'm shocked to receive anything. I just wished he would have not lied when he told me multiple times he had shipped so I wouldn't have taken off work for nothing. This trade has cost me more than I care to admit in time a frustration.

As for a last note, there were no heat packs because temps here were around 85degrees, heat pack would have cooked them. And I also told you that when I did get some checkered garters that I will send you some, and I still will too. But I don't see the mite thing here. I use black knight and no pest strips in my rooms, and I have not had a mite problem since June of last year. I checked them over for mites beforehand. But I'm not going to continue this argument. And its not hard to mistake ups for usps.

I can see your point about the heat packs and I'm sorry and stand corrected. To be honest we should have waited a bit on shipping and I'll take credit for that mistake but really I didn't think you would ship anything anyway. Either way I'll take the bad for ok'ing shipment in these conditions but you could have insulated the box. Just plain card board box.... really. A little styrofoam goes a long way.
You did say you would send me some garters. You also said a couple months ago you HAD shipped my garters. You also said my snakes would arrive thursday which I took off work to be here only to have them arrive friday which was a day and a half work missed. I was here for the well being of the snakes. It does cut into my pockets to have to miss so much work for one order because someone can't get it together.

this as a strike or to be mean but the rosy had mite(s). I got an adult one off it. It may have been in the bag or whatever but I know a mite when I see it. I didn't really detail the snakes looking for them or anything just found one adult mite crawling on my hand while handling the rosy. To be honest I think thats the reason its so under weight. I don't check for mites because I always treat for mites reguardless.

I've got everything back in working order. What had happened before was my fault and I feel that what happens in my personal life is my buisness. I don't think that it needs to be justified to a bunch of strangers on the computer. DO any of you think that if something goes wrong with your buisness some time because of a divorce or court battle or family death that you need to explain it and justify it on the net to a bunch of strangers? I am back in buisness and have fixed all the problems and pretty much will only ship cod to prevent any problem if anything should happen again. Now if some snakes don't make it nobody is going to be out anything. But I have made quite a few deals and now have some good references that will back me up. I will have pics in a few weeks available of every animal that I will post on here. If anybody has any questions feel free to email me at [email protected]. No, it's no one's business that you are having problems of a personal nature UNLESS you make it the business of your customers by not following through on your business deals!!!
You say you are turning over a new leaf? Fine, will you then stop shipping illegally (ie: shipping snakes via USPS)???
You also say that to avoid future difficulties, you are going to ship c.o.d. Did you know that shipping c.o.d. requires that the receiver not be allowed to open the box before payment is made? How is that going to help you from charging people for dead snakes in any way at all???
Finally, you suggested that much of what was written about you was slanderous. Might I suggest you get out your handy-dandy legal dictionary and discover the definitions of big words before you attempt to use them?
The point of fact is that you have not made any kind of real attempt to repay the money that you owe to people, you have not addressed the manner in which you ship, you have not adequately addressed the risk of having animals shipped from you, and you have tried to attack the character of those who had the audacity to call you on your illegal and unethical practices! Yep, that sure sounds like you're turning over a new leaf to me!!!!

sounds like a few of you have had a bad incident with mike, but i have done plenty of business with him over the last 3 years and have had no problems. i have done some trades, sold him animals, and purchased from him. never had any problems with shipping or anything arriving sick or injured. as a matter of fact, i bought a trio of ornate box turtles from him 2 years back and they drowned when my house flooded from hurricane rita and he replaced them only charging me shipping.

Depending on were you live is how the shipping promise goes on the turn-around times. Even if you ship Delta Dash, it doesn't mean bad things can't happen. Granted these are living creatures, the animals mentioned are inexpensive and replaceable and things happen out of our control. I have had nothing but good business experiences with Mike Webb.

I contacted him about an alterna he had, but when I saw all of this, I was not sending money to him. I have no experience with this guy, just current contact info.

I can ask him any question and he will answer it without a problem. Just 2 months ago i bought 10 box turtles from him, all healthy and good to go. I trust him, and would do business again with him, planing on buying more turtles in a few weeks.

in the past i have got over 8 box turtles from this man, all have come very healthy and active. i have been trying to start a small family of box turtles been to many local reptile shows looking for a few special turtles (very dark and very bright shells) he was able to help me find some of these. i have not talked with him in a month or so but he treated me good,

I bought some box turtles from Mike Webb a couple years back and it was a really good transaction. My turtles arrived in good condition without illness and on the day he told me to expect them for arrival. I have never had any problems with my easterns and would totally order from him again. He emails me updated lists to this day.

someone had a problem i guess, not me. im still talking with him. i have been looking for some almost black box turtles some gold and any odd balls.
