In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Miss me?

3 or 4 weeks ago I herniated a disc in my lower back, which resulted in my sciatic nerve getting pinched as well. Been dealing with this off and on for over 20 years. Let me tell you, it SUCKS!! If you have never dealt with sciatica then you cant even imagine the intense constant pain and the almost complete immobility. Seriously, you dont want none.

Anyway, over the last couple of days the pressure on the nerve has slackened and I am finally getting a little relief from the intense pain, as well as getting some mobility back. I still aint out of the woods, but hopefully things keep progressing. At least now the pain is manageable and I can move around a little bit. Not to mention being able to sleep more than an hour or two at a time. So hopefully I am back amongst the living for a while and dont have any set backs.

The term "constant pain" took on new meaning for me a couple of years ago, so I can somewhat relate. Glad to hear you are doing a bit better, Sammy.

I feel for you brother. A few months ago after my last MRI my doctor tells me the herniation is the same as it was over 7 years ago. He seemed pleased while I was thinking, damn it's been over 7 years of dealing with this pain.

I hope the break in your pain continues and hopefully your relief will last. Take it easy and be careful when a sneezing or coughing.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better at least.
Rest up and I hope you recover 100%.

As a veterinary technician, all the constant lifting and bending over I do to restrain large, obnoxious animals has taken it's toll on me...I, too, have a herniated disc in my lower back between L4 & L5. The vet I work with is always yelling at me to "lift with my knees" :)

I find that ice packs really help me a ton.

My boyfriend is a personal trainer, and he works with me a few times a week to stretch out. Massage therapy has helped a little as well.

Prayer for a speedy recovery, Sammy! I can identify with the sciatica pain--only mine was caused by a very large child growing inside me. No fun being prego in the middle of summer AND having the pain as well...that was 26 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday!

Ouch, been there done that... and stretching and exercise really help, but only AFTER you have rested up enough to heal some: don't push it too soon. And don't lift any Burmese pythons for a while!

Yeah Dave, I would say we are at about 90%. Some days I think it is 100% until I go to lift something or twist the wrong way and I get emphatically reminded I am not 100%. But it is all good and thanks for asking!

Great news! I'm glad to hear it brother. Hopefully in a short time you be back to 100%.
