• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Mitchell S. Behm (Global Captive Breeders)

I'm not saying it's far fetched, far from it. I just didn't see any actual facts in the first link you put up. Trust and peta are not generally words that go together.

I've avoided them, but just wanted to add that their website lists species that could never be legally exported from Aus. Looks like they just listed every species (you can't even own a pygmy BTS in Australia, nevermind export one).

They also had some animals for sale in the past that they never could have gotten legally (morphs only available in Aus). So I simply wrote them off.

You were smart to do so.

I have no problem with Petsmart or Petco, its the animal dealers like you that are the problem. If they knew the risks that you pose to their businesses and our industry, maybe they would realize that you're not the answer. Lets call them tomorrow and see.

To all the keepers out there, what happens to a shipment of 10,000 baby dragons or white's tree frogs; 1 day, 3 days or 5 days after receipt by Ty. Can you guess the mortality rate?

Wes made an earlier comment about FB in outdoor cages in Indonesia. Can you imagine Ty's farm? Can you imagine the FB baby Ball python losses in West Africa or here? We know that there are quality breeders that can handle the ethical part of supplying large chains, think of Bill Brandt of The Gormet Rodent.

Mitch

We know what happens when they are shipped to you!

I'm glad those poor animals were put out of their misery, but I'm not so happy it was PETA who exposed it. That's no way to treat animals nor to represent the industry.

The article posted was insanely depressing and sickening. I hope he does hardcore jail time for this. Those poor animals, nothing deserves that.

hey said you should be out of business never once said i well put you out of business.

You mean like how Mitch told all the california rat breeders HE would put them ALL out of business? I don't think that worked out so well.

I would like to personally invite Mitch to no longer participate in the reptile industry. He may just get the chance to live in an unsanitary jail cell himself.

So let me get this straight. Mitch, the guy who was accusing Ty of having poor facilities and not being able to support the large bulk of animals he buys, gets caught with mistreating his own animals?

That seems a tad ironic.

Probably won't. He will play dumb and blame his employees. Depending on how his business was set up he will probably say hes not in charge of the facility hes just the president of the corporation or some BS blah blah blah. Don't think they will prosecute unless he was stupid enough to admit the neglect.

Those articles bother the crap out of me. While yes, the photos are HORRIFYING and the overall situation is tremendously sad and depressing, they had to go off about a lot of "cruelty" that's, frankly, industry standard, as PETA often does.

I sort of feel like trying to lump in "whacking" rats, keeping rats in rack/tub systems, and putting reptiles in deli cups to take them to shows actually softens the actual abuse and horror of things like maggoty cages, dead animals, severe injuries and starvation, etc.
