In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry MJC Serpents...

This thread is about you, NOT Jen and her past. Everyone can simply click on Jen's username and read... OR just click on her link that she provides. I know A LOT of us clearly remember what she went through.

I'll post this here since she has me blocked on FB and probably missed it.

She compares herself to me, yet the big difference is I EUTHANIZED EVERYTHING. I shut down my collection, nothing in or out, for 10 months while I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on necropsies, bloodwork, histology, etc. Finally when it was determined to be an unknown new virus with no cure, I made the decision to euthanize every single snake I owned that hadn't already died -- and not just ball pythons, but rainbow boas, cornsnakes, kingsnakes, and carpet pythons, despite the fact that the virus had never affected any of them. I didn't want to take that risk. I lost $20,000 in animals and equipment, not counting the value of normals, hets, babies I'd produced, and brand new one-of-a-kind morphs and dinker projects. I had one of the ONLY Argentine rainbow boas in the U.S., and the only breeder producing them (where I got mine), lost his solitary breeding female to old age, and they are no longer being priduced anywhere in America. I had a clown when they were still $4500, and a g-stripe on breeding loan from a friend who took the financial hit because he couldn't take him back. Above all, I lost my very first ball python Spoon, who was 9 years old and the most beloved snake I've ever had.

Since Mindy would have been 11 years old when that all happened, she wasn't around to witness how I was crucified and attacked relentlessly by about 1/2 of the hobby -- because I was an idiot and made mistakes in QT that resulted in the spread of the virus in the first place, and in the very beginning had listed 3 mojave babies for sale as they'd been cleared by my DVM due to being eggs and having been removed from the collection before hatching. I then realized the error in my decision after it was pointed out to me by John and Deb that until the tests came back, it could be something more serious. At that time I was literally the only person that had ever gone public with an event like that, and the other victims of the same seller had not yet come forward. Within a few days of listing them, I pulled the ad down. Nothing EVER left my collection, and nothing EVER was attempted to be sold or otherwise given away. I continued to be attacked and condemned, until people started seeing the effort I put into testing and researching this virus, and started seeing other victims from the same seller come forward. Finally 10 months after the first snake got sick, I did what needed to be done to prevent my animals from suffering horrific deaths, and to prevent my fellow hobbyists from any possible risk of transmission on me, my clothes, etc. I *LISTENED* to what more advanced, experienced, knowledgable keepers were telling me, and did the right thing.

Damian Wyatt, on the other hand, kept selling off his collection, first under his name and trying to deny the virus, then sneakily under his girlfriend's name. 11 known people were affected by him, a few among the bigger breeders, and most of whom lost their entire collections. Those that didn't had been lucky enough to catch it in Quarantine in separate buildings. If someone had posted an FYI warning on him from the very start, I'd still have my animals. If I hadn't been so public about my case, many more people would have bought his animals for the dirt cheap prices he was blowing them out and lost their collections too.

But, then again, if that hadn't all happened, I wouldn't be in veterinary medicine today -- doing what I love and making a difference. At least my animals didn't die in vain.

I am unsure but that looks to be the same little kid (same clothes) that this person had posted about getting a snake from Mindy last Friday saying this:

Is this Mindy at Amazing Animalz on July 2nd 2014. The place where she got the snake she claimed had and died from IBD and also the place she claimed lost a lot of their collection. A place that she just claimed she did not remember?

I don’t know about all the info but, yes, the gal in the blue shirt, & red striped shorts, is Mindy.
I only know from seeing pics, of her, and she has the same tat as well.

This gal started bothering me on Facebook recently, until I blocked her. I would avoid like the plague.

She had another message sent to me, but i blocked her and deleted the conversation so dont have that part anymore. Just going on about " oh just going to ignore me" Not much else, not really important.

Steve J ( SPJ here ) posted a status and i ended up commenting on it regarding her "Opinion" on how she thinks IBD works in boids. And that apparently instigated her need to contact me and who knows who else about the matter. SMH.

I think what Mindy is failing to see, is that this will be here forever. She can't do what she does on Facebook and block and delete whoever disagrees with her.

Mindy , your ignorant and flippant attitude towards this will be here for everyone to see. I hope everyone reads this before they do business with you, because your professionalism is definitely lacking.

Mindy, I think you should look at this situation from a different perspective. Nobody wants you to have a virus of any kind in your collection. Everyone hopes that your animals are healthy as can be. I do.

Nobody wants to ruin your name just for the heck of it. Even those that have been very hard on you or have the opinion that you have handled this completely wrong shouldn't want to tarnish your reputation.

Personally, I believe you to be headstrong young person that like many that age believes they know way more than they actually do.

I believe you have been inaccurate on many points and from the beginning naive with so many of your statements.

I don't contribute those initial statements to being dishonest. If they were you wouldn't have said anything at all about the snake being sick. I don't believe you understood the seriousness of a claim of any virus in a collection or the ramifications that would follow.

You shouldn't feel like people are out to get you. It's a teachable moment. I strongly believe people are just trying to educate you on the seriousness of the issue and looking out for others. Nobody wants to see anyone have to put down a collection they have spent many years building.

I don't think Jen wishes that for you. She received a lot of flak for what people thought she did wrong in her situation. Some justified and some not, in my opinion. It was a learning experience. I'm sure she just wants you to understand the seriousness so others don't end up in the same situation.

Just so you know, I'm not friends with her and only know of her from posting here. I also have disagreed with her on her own threads here and I'm also one of those that gave her some of that strong criticism.

It shouldn't have ended up with you being on the defensive. You should have welcomed the information and had a dialogue. Your not as knowledgeable as you believe you are. That's not putting you down that's just a fact. It's not a bad thing. Heck, I learn something new everyday.

You seemed to give many statements written as fact with very limited experiences. As you stated, you received your first snake a year ago. Now your a breeder and seem to believe you have the answers. Who was your mentor? How did you learn everything you state about care and diseases over the last year? Facebook? Some random persons pages online?

It's a ongoing process for everyone. People doing this for twenty years will tell you the same. I still don't know squat. I do what works for me based of of those that put decades in already.

Chances are your collection could be just fine but there are some inconsistencies that still trouble me. Also, the way those boas deaths were presented. I get that you are just feeling attacked and also understand how some might think that it's been a year and everything should just be fine.

I'm still confused on some of the statements that seems to contradict. I also thought you sated you received a replacement from that same breeder.

Not sure if I'm correct on this but I believe your mother's statement also contradicted your own on the origins of the snake that was deceased. Not going back to read it at the moment.

Anyway, the concern here is to educate and to protect others collections. I've have to go offline so I'll just stop here.

I don't think it is as simple as one side stating she is just being bullied and the other stating shes just being deceitful. Sometimes when you think you know everything, it's time for a little realty injected.

Often times the most important snake in your collection is the one that has just died, especially when dealing with Boas and Pythons that displayed neurological symptons before
death. IBD or Inclusion Body Disease has indeed been identified as viral and appears to be
linked to Retroviruses or Arenaviruses. Its exact method of transmission is not fully understood. I would suggest to Ms. Comeau and others that keep Boids, to read an article written in Reptiles Magazine
and available online, by Dr. Margaret A. Wissman DVM, DABVP, to get a better understanding
of this complicated disease. It's important to note that not all tremoring, regurgitating or
stargazing Boids have IBD as there are many causes for these symptoms. A necropsy would
have been, in my opinion, an action warranted by someone that has had a Boid die after
exhibiting any of these symptoms if other snakes in the collection are being offered for
sale to the public.

And again, I don't think I know everything and I never have. I simply share my experiences with the world so as to possibly help people if they ever run into the same situation. I have said a thousand times that I truly do not know what it was that killed Layla, but IBD would not lay dormant in 30 Pythons just by chance. This thread is about me spreading IBD. And I am obviously not but you people just have nothing better to to than sit on a computer and blast YOUR know it all attitude. Every word I say and every thing I do I get railed. And nothing is good enough for you. I have apologized, given in, and even sucked it up and am getting Dexter tested. If any of them are sick, it would be him.
I also want to let you all know that I was not selling until 10 months after Layla died. I acquired more snakes but I was not selling. I was trying to breed. Yes, I lost my first clutch because she layed 6 slugs and 4 infertile but formed eggs. They had no veins when I candled them. There's nothing you can do about that, last I checked.
I don't know why the Ball Python community can't allow people to learn from their mistakes and grow. Reality does backfire on anyone at any time. Yes, I should not have made assummptions and claimed Layla died of IBD when I didn't know for sure. That has spun around and hit me harder than anything, and I will never talk about it again. Yes, I misused the word viral in the argument between Jen and I. I honestly did mean to say airborne. I know how serious viral diseases are and how important quarantining is. Andy and I are even working on a quarantine area for the shop. I have seen and heard many horrir stories about people losing entire collections, and IDK what I would do with myself if that ever happened to me. I don't cope with failure all that well and I try to avoid it at all costs.
You people act like I don't know what I am doing at all and that my husbandry is bad, currently. I'd like to know why you think that? My snakes are kept in a room that stays 80-82°. My thermostats are set to 94° hotspot. Humidity level stay around 50%. I use newspaper for bedding and it gets cleaned the second I motice it soiled. I clean their water dishes and give them fresh water as needed, and their tubs and entire racks are deep cleaned and sanitized on the first of every month with Simple Green. I have NOT had another snake in my collection die over the last 15 months. i had two respiratory infections last winter due my temperatures dropping, that sucked, but one was cured with Baytril, the other with Tylan. They are both now well over their 90 day quarantine after the medication routine was finished and will both be breeding within the next few months. My snakes are all fed well, as well as you can get 25 Ball Pythons to eat lol, and even the snakes at the shop are fed weekly and cleaned as needed and as we have been lesrning the new enclosure unit at the shop we have found ways to make it better so it is not reaching 99° anymore and it had a humidity level of 60-70° throughout it last night. We put press and seal along the screens on the inside of it at the top of every individual enclosure, removed the middle black light bulbs from it and keep the vents open to keep it right at 89°. We have the bulbs in the back of it to privide as much of a thermal gradient as possible in it. If we could hook heat tape up to it, we would.
I really cannot comprehend why you people would even say that my snakes are not taken care of. Last year I had some stupid setups. I had my 3k gram girl in a 75 gal tank eith a heat pad mounted to the side LOL - I LEARNED from that mistake, lucky she didnt get sick, I had used Repti Bark and Eco Earth for a number of months and had 11 snakes at one point all in tanks with heat lamps. I am proud of where I have gotten my collection to and how much I have learned and grown from my past and when I started out. Yes, I am still very new and have a LOT to learn still, but i already have learned a lot and don't see why it is so horrible for me to share what I do know to the people who honestly do not have a clue.
I welcome all questions to my group, I answer them and if you don't like the answer and you give me a hard time and start being disrespectful, THEN I ban you. Especially the cohabitation stuff. I dont want those idiots coming into every thread regarding cohabitation and spewing their "it works for me" BS. I want to keep the group as true as possible and not have that kind of interference.
So the truth is, none of you even know me. The people at the very start of this thread know me. They answered the OP's question with their real life experiences with doing business with me. And I have not sold a snake not through the shop in a month now.
To clear up the snakes at the shop thing, the Pastel Butter, Cinny Pewter, and Boa are mine and i will get 75% of their sale price. I bought them from Brian Chumsae. The BPOG, Black Pewter, Lesser Bee, and OG Andy bought and I will get 25% of those sale prices.

She didn't JUST die either. Idk how that was missed. And its incredibly immature to be doing what all of you are doing. "Oh hehe let's make sure she looks as bad as she can so lets give her a bunch of karma on fauna lolol." Idk how you people get satisfaction in that. You've all done nothing but made assumptions and made up stories and put words in my mouth and just done everything possible, TOTALLY disregarding everything i explained, and continue to make me look bad.
I am all for you people accepting my apology and my will to learn and grow and I have the ability to drop it all and not hold grudges against any of you. But oh, nobody wants the word to know that they talk to Mindy *gasp* and get along with her! It amazes me that nobody here is willing to grow up and know what is really going on and stop listening to the lies or mistakes of someone's past. You were all noobs at one point. You're not god, and neither are vets btw. Vets are wrong too, often. We are all imperfect mortals that will all make mistakes and poor decisions, some of us are willing to grow from that as I said. It would make you all not look like a bunch of scumbags with nothng better to do than waste time on the internet blasting a person still learning. I am not acceptant of your "help" because you are NOT helping. the attitude you all have is very unprofessional and i don't want to listen to it. I am not the only one who needs to calm the ego a little and humble themselves. Especially the military people, you of all people should have some integrity. And I do mean that exactly how it sounds. Now, for the hard to read folk, please note that I have accepted my faults in this post as well, not just talking about you.
But now you all want me to test every single snake in my collection, right? Including the ones I just got delivered to the shop from Jason Stoudt? Who have never been near any of my collection at home? Not one snake in my oersonal collection at my house is for sale. They are my babies and willnot be going anywhere. It pained me to even list them for sale in the first place, but I felt as though it was necessary at the time due to both personal issues and the way the people of the Ball Python hobby degrade every single person in it if they don't conform to their standards. It sickens me, really. Biggest reason I left all groups but two and some local classifieds groups. You people are worse than horse people, and that's oretty low.
And as I said, again, if anybody wants to grow a pair and stop acting like you are, I can stop having to hold a grudge against every one of you as well.
Remember its not what you say, but how you say it.
This will probably get blasted too, that's what I would expect from you all after the way you have been acting anyways.

To anyone who will grow up and actually really be willing to help instead of thinking you're helping, thank you. I would absolutely love to learn about IBD from a medical standpoint.

You really expect me to be completely respectful and polite after all this? Think again. I gave everyone a chance to grow up, including myself. And I got pretty close to the response I was expecting. So be it.

You know, Mindy, everywhere I have seen you post, you have brought a lot of opposition onto yourself. The only place it seems that you don't get people disagreeing with you is on your private page where you can control it. There is a saying that goes something like this: If you think that everyone has a problem with you, it may well be that you are the problem.

The persecution complex has been used many, many times over on here and elsewhere. Like this situation, it's generally a pathetic excuse to divert attention and make oneself the victim instead of the one who has something to atone for.

Again, just a thought.

Who here has been disrespectful to you? You are the only one flat out insulting others that I have seen. You're just upset that everyone isn't accepting what you're trying to spoonfeed them and are now pouting about it. BTW, wait until you have some experience to try to teach others about your experiences.

There we go. "Pouting about it." Guess we arent ready to grow up. That was the response i expected. Trying to diffuse the anger and be the adult and i get told i am pouting about it. Thats really good. I'm all done with this. All done.
