She didn't JUST die either. Idk how that was missed. And its incredibly immature to be doing what all of you are doing. "Oh hehe let's make sure she looks as bad as she can so lets give her a bunch of karma on fauna lolol." Idk how you people get satisfaction in that. You've all done nothing but made assumptions and made up stories and put words in my mouth and just done everything possible, TOTALLY disregarding everything i explained, and continue to make me look bad.
I am all for you people accepting my apology and my will to learn and grow and I have the ability to drop it all and not hold grudges against any of you. But oh, nobody wants the word to know that they talk to Mindy *gasp* and get along with her! It amazes me that nobody here is willing to grow up and know what is really going on and stop listening to the lies or mistakes of someone's past. You were all noobs at one point. You're not god, and neither are vets btw. Vets are wrong too, often. We are all imperfect mortals that will all make mistakes and poor decisions, some of us are willing to grow from that as I said. It would make you all not look like a bunch of scumbags with nothng better to do than waste time on the internet blasting a person still learning. I am not acceptant of your "help" because you are NOT helping. the attitude you all have is very unprofessional and i don't want to listen to it. I am not the only one who needs to calm the ego a little and humble themselves. Especially the military people, you of all people should have some integrity. And I do mean that exactly how it sounds. Now, for the hard to read folk, please note that I have accepted my faults in this post as well, not just talking about you.
But now you all want me to test every single snake in my collection, right? Including the ones I just got delivered to the shop from Jason Stoudt? Who have never been near any of my collection at home? Not one snake in my oersonal collection at my house is for sale. They are my babies and willnot be going anywhere. It pained me to even list them for sale in the first place, but I felt as though it was necessary at the time due to both personal issues and the way the people of the Ball Python hobby degrade every single person in it if they don't conform to their standards. It sickens me, really. Biggest reason I left all groups but two and some local classifieds groups. You people are worse than horse people, and that's oretty low.
And as I said, again, if anybody wants to grow a pair and stop acting like you are, I can stop having to hold a grudge against every one of you as well.
Remember its not what you say, but how you say it.
This will probably get blasted too, that's what I would expect from you all after the way you have been acting anyways.

Because this most certainly sounds like the adult trying to diffuse the anger. Objectivity isn't your area of expertise, huh? It'd probably be best if you just got out of the selling portion of the hobby for a while until you grow up and can learn to control your emotions and make better decisions. Neurologically, your brain hasn't finished filling out quite yet, so we'll just chalk it up to that for now. Hopefully time will fix it.

I hope you'll try to understand that just mentioning IBD and a dead snake in your collection
is akin to hollering "fire" in a crowded movie theatre when it comes to posting something
like that online. I think it must have been an old herper that said "Just when you think you
know everything, you realize that you don't know anything" meaning that the knowledge
gained in this hobby or business is an ongoing thing. Come to think of it, that's pretty much
how life is! There are many people in the hobby that have lost entire collections and their
memorys of the loss often bring bitter feelings. It's just that they simply don't want to see what they went through repeated. There are both collectors and businesses in
this hobby with character that runs the gamut. Find someone that has been successful in
either capacity and ask questions. Lots of questions! I hope you'll maintain your
passion for keeping and breeding snakes and other animals with an open mind.
I would recommend that you look up the article on IBD in Reptiles Magazine by Dr. Margaret A. Wissman as well as do a search of Dr. Elliot Jacobson DVM. Dr. Jacobson is the guru
of IBD and there are probably published papers of his online. Best of luck to you!

Mindy's arrogance skips a generation. She gets it from my mother, unfortunately. It drives me nuts, but I also realize it's a sign that she has passion. I can't change who she is or what she believes in.
Over the years, I've caught her in lies and found things out that made my blood boil. Those times have made me question myself ~ where did I go wrong?
I've seen how she's backtracked on stories, trying to protect Amazing Animalz. That's where Layla came from and also "Ribs," the pregnant boa. Mindy constantly told Amazing Animalz not to cohabitate, but Ribs was in an enclosure with Spike. Spike was in the same enclosure with Luna, who birthed dead babies, but one who was severely deformed and ended up dying. Ribs had been sold (by Amazing Animalz) to some girl who let her roam free and didn't take care of her. One day, we walked into AA and there's Ribs, looking horrible! Mindy insisted on taking her and nursing her back to health. AA paid for Ribs to be seen by a vet and her ultrasound showed she was pregnant. The vet insisted all the babies were dead. They gave Mindy two medications for Ribs, one was to help her with the sepsis of having dead babies inside her. I want to say it was my anniversary evening that we came home to Mindy bawling her eyes out, telling us to hurry up and go upstairs. We get up there and Ribs is in a tub with 24 wiggling, ALIVE babies! We called them the miracle litter. AA posted the cell phone picture I took when I saw them. Ribs was never Mindy's and the babies weren't hers, either. Amazing Animalz was selling both Ribs (now in her new home) and the baby boas. Mindy helped to advertise them and screen buyers. She also researched, asked in boa groups, and put together care instructions to go home with any baby sold. Some of those babies are still at Amazing Animalz waiting for their new families. Mindy kept one girl from the miracle litter as "payment" for the work she did to rehabilitate Ribs and care for her babies.
The picture that was posted of my children at AA with the little boy was the day she met there to sell Creepa. The little boy ended up falling in love with another snake AA had so his mom not only bought Creepa from Mindy, but the snake from AA for her son. I think she commented on this thread earlier, but I'm not positive.
I warned Mindy about advertising for This Side of Paradise Pets using her name and watermark. I knew people would question that.
The point of this thread: Would you do business with MJC Serpents? People who have had good experiences and love their new family members. People who haven't have their reasons why they won't. Fine.
I believe Mindy is learning from all this and has come to realize how trying to protect Amazing Animalz by making up other stories wasn't a good idea and is now coming back to bite her. The way she portrays herself is also backfiring. Her father and I are pretty upset with her over things we're seeing and things she's doing/has done. But I do feel that this thread has gone way off the deep end.

Since I have been mentioned, attached is a screen print of the status I posted on FB after getting discouraged by the complete lack of understanding of the threat of a disease in a collection can be. People seem to think that just because a sick animal is not housed with others it cannot spread the disease. It can be spread by using the same feeding tongs, not being careful doing spot cleaning, if an animal has mites, etc. I posted links to scientific study on diseases, explained the importance or quarantine, how a necropsy should have been done, that the collection should have been locked down, and was basically dismissed and eventually blocked from the group and the thread deleted.
It's astonishing little some of the newer keepers care about the severity of issues like mites, disease, improper housing, inter species co-mingling, etc.
It's very easy to dismiss advice that questions your practices and block them from posting but the only thing that accomplishes is bad husbandry continues and sick or potentially sick animals get spread throughout the reptile community. Disagree with spoonfeeding med laced applesause to a ball python.....get blocked......disagree with selling animals from a collection that had questionable deaths with no necropsy.......get blocked........Try to provide help that contradicts Petco.....get blocked...
It's very discouraging to think that sick animals might be sold and how very few see how severe and dangerous this can be.

People are passionate about their collections, some of them have put decades of work into raising and producing animals.
I understand your feelings as a mother, but I also understand the feelings of those who have tried to comment and/or teach and have been met with Mindy's arrogance and poorly thought out responses, which may have been taken as a slap in the face by some of them who spent considerable time writing posts here.

After a number of years making and reading comments, I think in general that threads are like rubber bands and will snap back in direct response to the force with which they were pulled.

And after a number of years making and reading comments, I feel that the back and forth is often the crucible where truth is born.
As one reads this thread from beginning to end, one gets a feeling for the personalities, for what happened, and most important (and why the BOI is here in the first place) one can make one's own choices about whether to deal with any of the parties in the future.

A lot of the people who are concerned about the dismissive attitude regarding disease have been around long enough to have seen what damage a single infected animal being shipped out can do to someone's collection and have seen sellers dump sick animals before word got out that there was a problem. Better to err on the side of caution than to spread something and potentially wipe out peoples collections.
There is always something new to learn no matter how long you have been doing this and you may find out that the way you are doing something needs to be changed. You need to be open it. What I have seen from a lot of the newer keepers is the spread of bad information and defensive posturing as soon as they are questioned. None of us know everything but we just may know more than you think.

I also cannot believe you people are STILL saying i am dismissive about the disease. steve jordanides and i were talking directly to each other in my group. i was agreeing with every word he said regarding how contagious he is. next thing i know, he leaves the group and posts that status that he just posted above in this thread. Like what?! I was so ticked because i was explaining right in plain sight that it is carried through things as simple and unthought-of as feeding tongs and your clothes or any other equiplemt shared between snakes. So that status he made was a complete lie and threw me over the deep end. I could not believe that. I never ever said that it is not contagious mor did i say it is nothing to worry about.
