this thread is insane ; nearly 900 posts? geez.

The bottom line (provided I have my facts strait) is that she had some snakes die in her care that came from someone who had snakes test positive for inclusion bodies.
She sold some snakes that died 1-2 weeks later that went untested.
her collection has remained untested.
her quarantine procedures are nonexistent as evidenced by photos of new snakes being held with established snakes.

The only 2 reasons anyone would keep the testing and test results a secret are: (1) if there are no tests actually being done or (2) if the results came back positive for something.
If there is nothing to hide, why hide it?

I have no sympathy for Mindy as this is EXACTLY how deadly pathogens spread; wiping out collections along the way.

Andy gets dragged into this because he sells her snakes at his store, thus tarnishing his rep, and will not post here to defend himself.
I'm sorry, but I do not feel sorry for Andy. If his business suffers because of this it is because he did not take action. If I was in his shoes I would have at the least severed ties pending vet test results.
It doesn't matter if he does not like the internet side of business, the plain fact is that that is how business goes nowadays.
he is doing himself a great disservice by trying to hide from the issue being presented here.

That's the problem. YOU shouldn't be here posting what "he" said. He should be here saying what his intentions were/are and explain his side. He has NO excuse for what he said to Jen. None. No, bashing him because he let her make decisions for his business and answer questions for his business seems logical to me. He let things get to where they are, he had all the opportunity in the world to come here and make his words be heard. Which he did by texting and calling/harassing Jen numerous times.

If he wants to come and "defend" himself, then let him, but I see no need in you coming to post his words here when he's a big boy and can do it himself if he really thought it were necessary.

Wow I'm only up to post 370, but Mindy constantly states the people here don't read, and only 1 snake was near the snake in question with possible IBD, but apparently she hasn't read the multiple post stating that if she where in contact with the snake with IBD then traveled the 30 minutes or so to This side of paradise, and handled snakes there that it is possible the infection could have traveled from her house to the pet store on her clothing. I think that there were a couple of post where it states this could be possible without a thorough disinfecting of hands or clothing. If I miss understood this then I apologize Im curious as to if that is a possibility for cross contamination

I think you are lying, there is no attorney. So far, I see nothing that appears to be defamation- people have a right to their opinion, and my opinion of Mindy is pretty low right now, what with her lying and mishandling of the disease issue.

There has been no defamation or harassment by anyone here that I've seen. Using your daughter's own words and posts against her is just showing what she already said. The only harassment I've seen is from Mindy and Andy. Mindy is blasting all of us on facebook. This post has stayed here. She choses to spread it all over. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt since you seemed to understand in the beginning that Mindy did this with her own actions. But it appears I was wrong and maybe her actions are being encouraged.

And those text messages to Jenn are the only thing I've seen that can be a cause for police to be involved in anything.

This is a deadly disease that has the potential to lay dormant for an extended period of time... That means asymptomatic. If you do not know what that means... It means the animal can be infected and show no symptoms for a long time.

Now again, the fact that she stated the snake died if IBD and the person she got the snake from had lost their snakes to IBD creates the link to how all these animals are potentially infected...

So she sent out multiple snakes, Andy sold multiple snakes... These snakes go to people, maybe their friends play with their new snakes.. Go home and contaminate their snakes and thus creates a viscious cycle and eventually epidemic.

Use your brain lady. So many peoples collections could be at risk because of your daughters negligence, arrogance, and plain stupidity.

Have you ever taken a course on bloodborn pathogens?? No matter what.. You always treat a person with a wound as if they are infected... Same scenario.

I get that you are trying to defend your daughter but you are being just as bad as she is... Educate yourself before you speak. And good luck with the costs of an attorney when you won't even test a snake.

typical, the attorney card. most of the time this gets pulled when the alleged "bad guy" is out of excuses/ideas (just an observation of past BOI threads)

The most immature thing I have seen here are the replies posted by Mindy. She obviously does not take anything seriously, otherwise this would be a much shorter thread.

You spoke with Fallon, the Office Manager. Not Dr. Mike. Lindsey, one of their lead CVT's, was standing right there during the brief phone call. She read your claims on "what was said", and stated right off the bat that none of that was even remotely said by anyone at SAH. My advice to all three of you is to stop posting about this on Facebook and participating in this thread for now because all you are doing is dousing gasoline on a fire that has gotten ridiculous as it is.

I strongly suggest you set a date for testing, post the date and then wait for the results to come back. In doing so, there is accountability and if there is failure to comply with the date you set then that is 100% on you and cannot be blamed on anyone else.

Do I believe there was IBD in Mindy's collection? No, I do not. I do not for many reasons, but I am not outlining them all here. The problem is, Mindy said there was IBD, she made these claims herself and crying wolf. The thing about crying wolf is, you better be prepared to prove there is no wolf. Mindy was not prepared for that, she did not have the proper understanding of a disease such as IBD and on that basis alone never should have made the claim she knew the animal was taken by it.

I had a boa in my care die abruptly of a ruptured aneurism; without a necropsy I never would have known that and had I gone screaming IBD, crypto or something else that has been confirmed to wipe out entire collections in the past I would have damaged my own image, even when it came back in the clear. Why? Because I should, at this point, know better than to claim such a thing without evidence; it terrifies people and it puts a darkness over you that is almost impossible to escape. Animals die for all kinds of reasons, people do too, but thinking of the worse case scenario without proof is just as harmful as having proof it was the worse case scenario and not reporting it.

The burden of proof now lies on Mindy to clear her collection of IBD. Unfortunately, this thread will remain and her antics on Facebook will be remembered in such a manner it only paints her as an immature, arrogant, ignorant kid. While that is not inherently wrong as we have all been immature, arrogant, ignorant kids at some point, her generation's insistence upon posting every single thing about their lives on social media has given her a form of infamy most would rather avoid.

Mindy, you are young and you have grown up in a society were truth is hate speech but you must learn, at some point, how to take constructive criticism better. You claimed I attacked you when I told you to leave the yolk belly babies alone once they were born and you claimed others were attacking you for giving you similar advice on how to deal with the neonates since you were new and the animal that gave birth was supposedly on death's door. Tone can be hard to decipher in text on a screen, but all anyone ever did was try to give you advice for the sake of the animals. Thankfully, they survived.

Hopefully you guys will take my advice but, if not, that is on you, not me.

I understand wanting to protect your daughter, CrystalLynn, but she did make this bed on her own and Andy, I get you felt your business was threatened, but it was not an excuse to act how you did. In all of this we have a teenager and two adults acting virtually the same; there is a problem with that.
