Post #56 was made on 02-27-2007.
How many warnings a moderator can give in one day was changed well after that date and before the dates listed in the screen shot. Just want to make sure no one interprets that part incorrectly.

Sammy - at the time this thread started, we could only give one warning per person per day. That number has since (recently) been changed...largely due to happenings around here

I think this is wrong as well Erin. Look at the dates of the warnings and who gave them in the following screen shot. I see 3 in one day by one mod and 2 in one day by another mod. I am not counting the Super mods, but the two (Bryon and Laura) other mods.

My warning page did not have the same person giving warning points to me multiple times in one day. Which was the point I was addressing with Erin. Otherwise I would have used it, Ed.

Good try though Ed, but maybe you should be discussing why you stone cold lied about me. Maybe you should explain that instead of just acting like it didnt happen.

There is nothing wrong with utilizing a site feature to serve as example in a post. Bruce knows the rules of the site and if he had a problem with receiving warnings for the things he's posted he would have stopped earning them a long time ago.

Here are the facts:
1) You lied in a post to gain Erin's support because you don't like Wes.
2) You've come to Bruce's defense over a site feature that is readily available for anyone to use because you just don't like Sammy.
3) You have yet to apologize to Sammy for lying well after its been established by moderators of superior skill that you suffered absolutely no abuse of negative karma.
4) You've ignored the guidelines of moderating as its been clearly established by a super moderator warning you again not to supercede your responsibilities or undermine their authority.

So in a nut shell, you either know the guidelines and are choosing to ignore them or you don't know the guidelines because you're sooooo smart you didn't have to read them. That is what this thread was started about and so far you've proved Wes absolutely right.

Of course he has nothing to say Sammy, that's Ed's normal method of dealing with it any time he is called to task to back up his words. He starts a confrontation with an ill conceived statement and when he's called on it he simply ignores it as if it never happened and hopes it will go away. I can't really blame him though when I look at it from his perspective. I know if all I had handy was a butter knife, I wouldn't be too keen to jump into the middle of a gunfight.

I don't think you need to worry Harald. Even if you didn't know there were any guidelines the chances of you wandering into some of these actions are slim to none.

If no one else is willing to enforce it, or those people engaging in this sort of thing refuse to cease and desist, then I certainly will enforce it, and those points will rack up rapidly. I will also enforce it from the day I made that as a warning. I am also not going to be shy about handing out three day passes to hang out elsewhere.

Consider this a "pre-warning" warning. And in case no one has noticed, THIS forum is NOT the BOI.

This whole thread is so laden with abuse that it's hard to know where to begin...or end.

For the record, so far, No One has launched what I would even remotely consider an attack on me. Nor have I received any negative Karma points regarding this thread. Sammy and I disagree, and he has conducted himself in a gentlemanly fashion. I would expect nothing less from him.

Ed, I really dont fret about warning points or karma points. You can ding me all day for standing up for myself or for others when I believe to be in the right. The very fact that other moderators of superior skill have had to ding you yet again for abusing the warning point system on me confirms what I was trying to point out. You are not cut out for the task of moderator. I;m really sorry to say it but watching you moderate these forums daily is like the cruel equivlent of watching Stevie Wonder play Marco Polo in an olympic sized swimming pool. A little funny at first perhaps but becoming so sad that you just want to turn your head around and not watch it go on anymore. At best you try to hide the grin on your face, but then you realize little Stevie cant see you grinning anyway. Regardless of anyone else's wishes or demands on how this site should be run, my allowing moderators (meaning system mods and those people who have ponied up to help out here in that respect) to be publicly belittled and attacked for their actions in that capacity is just not appropriate. Any member can bring this to the attention of myself or the other mods, but the manner in which it is done necessarily must resist the urge to antagonize or be in any way derogatory to that mod. This has been going on long enough, and is NOW over with. I had hoped that all the other mods would deal with this without my hand in it, but obviously my help is needed.

Several members have made an obvious attempt to derail this program and purposely belittle any moderator who will issue them warning points. Without trying to fathom the intentions behind such actions, and trying to read between the lines of such postings to try to determine valid complaints based on just malicious attacks, I am just flat out putting a stop to it. Post your complaints, but leave the CRAP out of it. Period. And if it smells like crap and looks like crap, even to the most discriminating eye, it IS crap.

These people are trying to help me out with a difficult job. I will not stand by and watch them slashed to ribbons by the very crowd they are trying to help me keep within reasonable guidelines.

If a mod abuses their power, yes, there are ways that myself and the other mods can deal with it. These ways do NOT include standing by and watching others try their best to not only belittle one or more particular mods, but also in the process, attempt to terrorize other mods into allowing antagonistic members to do as they please here.

So, sorry folks, but your games are over with in that respect here. I will inflict increasingly severe sanctions upon anyone ignoring this warning that YOU are not to attack those people who are trying to help make this site better. You do not owe anyone respect here, but I will not stand by and allow such obvious disrespect inflicted upon these people.

I hope this is perfectly clear with everyone here, because if not, I will take whatever steps are necessary to MAKE it perfectly clear.

So if anyone here believes this site will just fold up and die without them, and wants to push this issue, well, go ahead. Let's see what happens after you are gone.

What Rich is asking for, is if you or anyone else feels a need to critique a mod, do so in a civil and professional manner. All the name calling and other BS that has been posted so far just detracts from any legitimate complaints you and others may have. It really makes it hard to take complaints seriously when the complainers are acting no better than the person they are complaining about. Rise above it Bobby.
