In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy My experience with Underground Reptiles

Too bad the owner refuses to return our phone calls and emails beyond the one blaming me and refusing to work with us nor contact. And the owner wasn't even the one to send that email. The owner has refused to return contact since the beginning.

Paypal won't do anything because a live animal was involved. It's policy. The only way you can file a claim is if they never shipped in the first place. If you paid with a debit card you can't do anything, if you paid with a credit card it depends on your specific cards protection plan.

Yes paypals TOS dont cover perishables. But it also depends on the person covering the claim. SOmetimes they are animal lovers especially reptiles and will side with the OP.

Whether its Debit or CC its the same thing, backed by a BANK which will take OPs side since product died.

As to the issue of that "Mite Kill", OSHA has extremely strict standards on the labeling, storage and providing not only employee's but also "downstream" users of chemicals with information sheets on ingredients, hazards etc. The fines that can be levied for non-compliance can be enormous. Here are a couple of links and many more can be found. http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=NEWS_RELEASES&p_id=22038

I hope you can get a resolution to your issue Chelsea

Paypal will side with you because the merchant sent out a perishable not the other way around. The blame (according to paypal) is on the merchant.. In any case, GTP's are very touchy. ... Could have been the set up, could have been the mites, could have been a number of things. Call Rian B. He is a nice guy.. Maybe you can get him to send you something else. Like a chameleon or something.. It may not be a Green Tree python like you want but at least something cool you can fill your tank with...

Yea, that's a great idea. let's just fill a fish tank full of aspen and a red light bulb with a chameleon....... or just whatever else they have lying around and feel like sending your way.

The customer wanted a GTP. They got a mite infested one that died. They shouldn't have to settle for a chameleon or whatever other mite infested animals they feel like sending. Before this customer gets any new herps... they need to make improvements to their husbandry. A chameleon is the *last thing* I would consider for that. Why encourage the notion of "at least something cool you can fill your tank with?" That isn't what our hobby is supposed to be about...

it should NEVER be about filling tanks. That mentality is exactly the reason there are SO many B grade animals floating from place to place and eventually dying. That mentality is what keeps scummy businesses going.

It was a figure of speech. "fill your tank with something else" I did not mean it literally.. I meant maybe he will send you something else so you can at least have something to show for it.. At this point the OP has nothing so maybe call Rian B and see if you can work something out.. If you accept a chameleon then of course the cage would need to be changed around. I did not mean to just throw it in there and feed it rats.. No, The tank will need to be changed to fit whatever else the OP puts in there. As it stands now if the OP did not want to change the set up a corn snake or other colubrid would do well.. Once again it was a figure of speech.... Time for a beer, I think we all need to Chillllllll..

Also, since I need to be more direct in my posts. I am also not saying to the OP- "tough luck, you lose and you better call Underground and accept whatever they give you" The OP has other avenues if they feel they have been wronged. The can Sue, They can file a dispute with Paypal, they can contact there Bank on and on... I am just suggesting maybe by calling rian they can both come up with a happy medium without this blowing up any further.

I think you missed a few posts. It appears Rian sent her an email saying he will help her in NO way because of pine and placing the tank near a window (which was a wrong assumption on their part) and because she posted reviews on her experience which they defined as slander. I did not see slander. I saw an upset customer who was being told it was her fault because they saw what they wanted to in those pictures and if she wanted another one, she would have to pay again.

What I gathered from this, is if you have a problem with underground, you better keep it hush-hush or you will not get any compensation and communication will cease. And if you do keep it hush-hush, you may end up with a mite responsibility that is now your problem, a bottle of an unknown pesticide, a dead snake, and a small discount to do it all over again.

I meant maybe he will send you something else so you can at least have something to show for it.. At this point the OP has nothing so maybe call Rian B and see if you can work something out..

That's like accepting another meal or a gift certificate from a restaurant where you found bugs in your food. If it were me, I would want absolutely no more animals from a seller who sent out something with mites. Mites spread everywhere, get in everything, and can cause tons of damage to your entire collection...

I just ordered a baby GTP from them (under ground reptiles) also she was shipped overnight with no heat pad then we took her to the vet right away looked like she had mouth rot and she had a huge scar from the inside of her mouth across her face and we havent been able to get her to eat, She is clearly sick we are hoping she will make it. We called and emailed them They will not refund us our money even though we have a letter from the vet saying she was sick and severly scared. They offered us a discount on my next order which came out to be 12 dollars off. We paid over 300 for our snake and am really sad that she seems to be suffering. We own alot of snakes including a 10 foot albino burmese so we know that we got screwed on this snake.

Pictures and proof that you purchased from them would certainly help validate your claim. Thanks

We just talked to Ryan at underground reptiles and they are awesome at communicating with us we did lose our baby gtp this morning and they are sending us a new with our order of the baby hognose we wanted . Ryan has been awesome at working with us on our issues and glad we are resolving things. Just wanted to update everyone since my sister started a post on this situation Thanks

I'm glad you got your issue resolved and hopefully you will have luck with the other 2 snakes you get from them. We have continued to try and get in contact with them and they are still refusing to have the owner contact us.

It's very evident while reading this thread that Green Tree Pythons are too inexpensive for their own good.

Who knew that $300 bought the new hermit crab?
