In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Earlier this summer Mr. Khan contacted us asking to be put on the wait list for table space at our reptile expo. We were eventually able to procure a table for him ( about 3 weeks out from the show), and he assured me that the table payment would be sent asap. Two weeks later, and a week before the show, we still had not received his table registration fee. I called him to see if he was still coming, and was assured that indeed he was definitely going to be coming with his geckos. Since we were at that point so close to the show date, he asked if he could pay upon arrival, and I reluctantly agreed. This is not something that I normally allow, but he had been a vendor with us previously and was very enthusiastic, so I felt that he could be trusted.

Of course the end result was that he did not show up at the show, nor did he contact us that day. His table sat empty, and thinking that maybe he was caught in traffic I even turned away a couple of opportunities the morning of the show to re-sell the table to other vendors!!

Following the show I made several attempts to reach him, and he finally called back 2 days later stating that an emergency had come up at work that morning, preventing him from attending. I explained that he was still liable for the cost of the table. It had sat empty with HIS name on it, and I had turned away several other opportunites to re-sell it in the good-faith assumption that he was actually going to show up! If he had bothered to call, I could have re-sold it for him. He claimed that he understood, and that he would send the payment right out.

It is now 10 days later, and no check.

While I am not going to comment one way or the other on his geckos, I would certainly use caution in any business dealings with Naim Khan/ Amazing Geckos. The man does not keep his word!

It is a shame that experiences like this will force me to take a much harder approach in dealing with the vendors at our shows. I try to be a nice guy and work with people fairly, but being taken advantage of like this really ticks me off!!

my deals with Naim,,,

I have dealt with Naim 2 times,,,
the Quality of the geckos i got from him was very good, and he called me personally both times to verify i had gotten the shipment and that things were ok,,, and i have talked to him probably 6 or 7 times over these 2 deals,,, and he was happy to answer my questions and send me pics of what i requested,,,
the guy has really bent over backwards to make sure i was happy with my purchases from him,,, and i can say i am ,,,,
Thanks Naim!
I am enclosing a pic of one of the geckos i purchased from him,.. and it is really a nice animal,, and a great price...I would highly reccomend doing business with him!

There is no excuse for what Naim did, but it does make me wonder. I spoke with Naim via email this summer and he came across as a good guy that was having troubles in his personal life. I do hope that there was simply a delay in his mailing out the check and he makes good on this.

Let me also take this opportunity to kiss Bruce's butt :D His show is the first one I started doing and regardless of how I do at the show (and it's been extremely positive each time so far) it wouldn't influence my decision to remain loyal to it. Bruce is a top notch guy and his staff has been nothing short of amazing to deal with.

Definately a shame...

I do not know either of the people involved here, however, I do know how much work goes into putiing on a show, with that said I do not feel that Mr. Kahn diserves a "bad Guy" for not showing up.
My husband is the show Chairman for Southern California Herpetology Association and I am the President, we just finished our 3rd annaul show at the Orange Co. fair grounds and had similar problems arise from 4 different vender's all having similar reason's for not attending. Thier tables sat empty we also turned away other venders.
What we learned from that show, is that life happen's beyond our control and the vender's that did not show lost possible revenue, and the club's that did not show lost possible new members. We are redoing our current vender contract's to hopefully avoid a situation like the one that you and our club experienced. Life is too short, we should all try to enjoy the time we have.

had you not strayed from your original policy, this would never have happened. In many cases these people are not business people but hobbyists or in many cases weekend herpers looking to make a buck. I am sure if you were to deal with them they would want their money upfront, just as you would. In his particular case, their is no "next time", I would ban him from your shows, let other sponsers know about the problem you encountered, and stick to your policy not based on past performances, but on a reasonable policy that requires prepayment to guarantee a table. Does it make one a "Bad Guy" from one instance of not keeping his word? I suppose that is an individual assessment that has to be made by those dealing with such a person.

As for me, you get exactly one shot at lying to me or failing to keep your word. I wouldn't have totally flipped out over the no-show, because emergencies DO happen. However, not promptly sending the check to PROVE to Bruce that he was not just jerking him around was a very bad mistake on Naim's part.

Not asking him back to any show Bruce holds seems appropriate. Naim still needs to send that table fee ASAP.

I would suggest that next time you state clearly in your vendor packet that any no shows by such and such a time will result in the table being resold. You left yourself wide open on this one.

Now 3 weeks later, and still no check for the table. Nor am I expecting one at this point. Yes, things happen, and vendors at the last minute cannot attend. However, he promised to pay for the table. I could have easily re-sold it, even that day, but believed that he was good to his word. He even apologised after the show and said that he would make good on it and send the check right out. He has not done so, making him a lier two times over. That absolutely makes him a bad guy in my book- he has lied to me several times and ripped me off for the table fee. He will never be welcome back at our show....

Regarding our policies on tables- we normally sell out with full payments many months ahead of time. The confirmation states that if you cancell more than 30 days out you recieve a choice fo credit towards the next show or a refund. With less than 30 days notice we will try to re-sell the table, but make no guarantees (it takes up to 30 days for new vendors to get the necessary sales tax permit).

Mr. Khan, though, was on the wait list in case of cancellations. Somebody did back out, and we offered the table to Mr. Khan. He enthusiastically accepted, and said that he would get the payment right out to us. When we did not receive it shortly before the show 2 weeks after the call) I called him again and got excuses, but was assured that he was absolutely going to attend. Sucker that I am, I took him at his word.

Again, I think being lied to repeatedly and being ripped off for the table fee entitles me to labeling him a bad guy....
