    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Nate Swanson Seattle reptile / Swanee's Exotics

I just placed an order with nate yesterday, He is supposed to ship out today. I thought I would give him a shot, can't really go wrong with a sexed pair of cinny's for $200.I will keep everyone informed on how this transaction goes.

the reptiles i received from him only one turned out to be CB
the boa died with in 6 hrs but i knew it was wc but still he had to know it was sick. the other two skinks were suppose to be cb but only one was the other is being treated for internal parasites and a resportary infection .
 
I recieved my stuff from Nate this morning. He was supposed to send me a sexed pair of cinnamons (he guaranteed the sexes, and said him and the breeder both sexed them) but both turned out to be male. He also sent me a free amazon tree boa. I will talk to him today and see why he sent me 2 definate males as a pair. (both probed and popped as males) I will keep everyone updated.

Has anyone ever seen his disgusting store? Animals packed in 2.5 gallon tanks, frogs and turtles stacked 2-3 animals high because there isn't any room to spread out, skinny WC geckos huddling in corners, several-days-dead baby geckos(sunken eyes, squishy skin and rotting) underfoot of living baby geckos, a dozen baby snakes stuffed in a tiny 5 gallon tank, tree frogs and pythons and geckos all being kept in the same enclosure.. When I inquired about a gecko living with the python, I was told "It will be fine, the snake leaves him alone." When he suddenly disappeared and I asked about the poor gecko, my question was dodged. The whole place is grungy, unclean, packed with unhealthy animals, and I am thoroughly nauseated. I will not support Nate Swanson in any way, and I completely avoid his tables at reptile expos. Honestly, it's a shame he's still allowed to attend those, his business is a blot of selfishness and sickness in our otherwise decent reptile community.

I purchased $659.00 in snakes and geckos on 9/19 I recieved them on 9/20 packed well I took pics do to his rep. I found his customer service excellent. All the snakes and geckos were sexed correctly and are feeding on f/t rodents. The health of the reptiles that I received are excellent and mite free. I was able to sell four of them to one customer due to thier quality.

I will be using Nate again and had a great experience!!

One good deal out of a million bad ones doesn't save a mans reputation. It would not surprise me either if some of the animals you received from trades he ripped off other people with.
 
True that! He told me to contact him today, and has been dodging my calls. I will give him a chance to correct his mistake before I post all the emails and bash him, bu seriously, he is turning out to be just how everyone has said.

Nate is not a glimmering light in the horizon. Deal with people that are passionate about the animals that WE love, with good track records and make this hobby/industry, one we can continue to be proud of.:dgrin:
 
Jim pretty much said it, deal with people who support you, who help the industry, who push forward with new innovations. Nate is not helping the industry he is just trying to make a quick buck off of other peoples hard work. Example: I saw a snow corn in his shop when I went in shortly after its opening. This snow corn was labeled as gravid. Price: $200. I came into some corns in a package deal, I ask for $50 each, which I know is high, but I am willing to negotiate. He offers me $75 for all three. These weren't normal corns either. One was a male Lavender Stripe, one was a female Bloodred het hypo, and one was a female Golddust het. motley. All of these snakes were adults, the lav stripe proven. It seems to me that no matter what a store/dealers overhead, they should be able to pay more than the one sixth of what they are going to sell it for, especially when what they will sell it for is significantly more than the market value. This is just one example of a dealing I have had with Nate. From this and other dealings it has become clear to me (as I hope it will to others) that Nate is more interested in making a profit off of others hard work rather than putting in his own hard work to advance the hobby. Oh, and I sold all of the corns myself for an average of $100 each. I am glad that I did not sell them to Nate. I am also glad that I had this excellent learning experience before I lost too much money, or more importantly acquired a sub par animal, as so many others have. I hope that those afflicted by Nates poor practices are able to resolve their issues, and I also hope that at least one person decides to buy elsewhere because of this thread. Unfortunately, much of his business is through the shop selling to beginning hobbyists. If we all work on spreading the word though perhaps we can put a dent in his show, online, and wholesale business. Finally, I can say one good thing about Nate, he sells enough non-feeding WC Box Turtles that eventually they trickle back to myself and other responsible turtle keepers. Thanks for the free turtles Nate!

spreading the word in the reptile community is not to hard these day when u know most of them.and it might be a lil while but his will get what commming to him a one of the shows
 
Not surprised here with nate,a few years ago I did a trade with him,2green trees (me)for 15 leopard gex.I shipped first. As soon as he recieved my end he shipped later that day....when I recieved the geckos it wasn't pretty! & there was only 8. In that 8 four of the morphs weren't what I wanted & 3 were d.o.a's & the packing was horrible!!not even an air hole. When I contacted him ASAP!! I Kinda got the run around!! How someone else packed & shipped the gex!! So anyways the next week comes,he ships me more gex,I get exactly what I asked for (all big n healthy) plus he gave 4 extra.so I ended up with 19 nice gecko morphs.and the the 2nd shipment was thoroughly packed....air holes, news papper.,heat pack....a proper shipment!! Nate didn't do me wrong,but I would use a little caution. So trader beware.
