It appears that Tim is sticking to his word about not talking about it, as per the lawyers request. The only thing he addressed here was the other snake that was mentioned.

That poor snake. :(
 
I have a hard time believeing a lawyer told him too not say anything, I mean, what would his case be? I ripped someone off now I want to sue them? He just doesnt WANT to answer for what he has done in my opinion anyway. Now that the Vet report has been posted I seriously couldnt see any lawyer takeing his supposed case as it would be an obvious losing battle. I feel so bad for that poor snake, it suffered so much, and for what? So someone could make a buck. I cant believe he has the nerve to post on here without any response to the who knows how many people's questions in this thread. At least have the decency to tell us all why you did this and PLEASE make it right. Although it can never be made right for the snake that suffered as it did for as long as it did and all the other snakes that may be infected also. At the very least tell us you are haveing the rest of your snakes checked and informing everyone you have sold snakes to recently to try to prevent as many deaths as you can.

I feel so bad for this snake and all the pain and suffering it went through could have been prevented, but it was the choice of Tim for the snake to not have a happy life.

Matt....thank you for doing what you did for the snake. As much as our pets, to some people, may be disposable, I find it incredibly meaningful for you to do what you did and post all the info here, day by day, AND to provide all the vet care you did. You did your best my friend. :(

I will remember your snake Matt. She was beautiful and innocent, just like all our snakes and animals in general.

I will unfortunately remember you as well Tim. Brother, your hole that you dug yourself into will be getting deeper and deeper with your continued reverance to your god called selfishness. There was NO reason for this snake to be treated like this, and from what I hear, if you are selling your collection, that may be the nicest thing you have done to an animal in your life. This is coming from someone who really enjoyed your posts on the BOI over the last few years and is just as shocked as others of your ridiculous behavior. This poor snake should get a first class funeral with you yourself paying the bill.

Are you having the rest of your animals all tested?

Not to be material, but approximately how much will it cost per animal to have that many tests done?

I haven't said much but have been following this thread. I don't have much in the way of "arboreals" (a single JCP) but I care about the animals.

I'm praying that none of your other animals are infected, and that none of the animals that Tim sent out to other people were infected either.

I am not having my animals tested.....yet. I have very specific quarantine rules and I go by the letter on them. I opened Tim's box away from all of my other animals and when seeing the condition of the snake took the proper precautions. I had to feed my snakes that night and I threw all of my clothes in the wash, took a shower and scrubbed with antibacterial soap, clorox wash up to the elbows, and I still wouldn't go near my animals until the next evening when the process was repeated a few more times.

The animal and the tupperware tub that she was in were taken to the vets. The tub is in storage at the vets far away from anything else. I still have the box and contents that were in it and I have to save them for use later on but believe me they are far from anything I own!

None of my animals that are here are for sale at this time so I can wait. My quarantine area is seperate from my collection so if I do bring in animals they won't be near mine. Everything has been bleched and sterilized so I feel somewhat safe but there is still that looming question.

You keep hounding on the guy as if he thought he were King. You keep trying to prove to everyone thaqt Matt thinks he is King or something. All that does not really matter at this point. The only thing that matters is you sold him a sick snake.

Based on the condition of that snake when it left your care (what it HAD to have been, mind you), based upon your obvious attempts to cover up the condition of the snake through SQ injections of fluid, based upon your TOTAL lack of regard for other people and the health of their animals shown by your willingness to sell and ship that snake in that condition, based upon your complete and total lack of ethical response to this situation in the form of a deserved refund and appology, based upon your absolute SILENCE in relation to the meat of this issue . . .

You are a BAD GUY with whom no one in their right mind should do any business in the reptile industry. I don't say that with any pleasure. I'm really sad for you, your animals, and your customers. However, as one reptile enthusiats to another, I am ashamed of you.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

It's DISGUSTING that Tim's friends are still trying to put the blame on Matt in this situation...more actions that speak VOLUMES.

The above is a very nasty bug. Im making my post here because I can say words like ***,***,and *** FYI. Now, King Lerer you have one of your buddies post that anyone that has got an animal from Tim in the last year needs to look out.

That puts you right in the middle of things since you have swapped snakes back and forth with him over the last year.

Are you going to have ALL your animals tested? Are you going to let every person that you have sold to know to have there collections tested?

How many snakes have you sent to Tony N that now need to be tested? Sounds like you have caused one hell of a mess ******!
From the way this virus works Tims entire collection would be infected!

How many others that got snakes from Tim have had there snakes tested for this virus?

Anybody else already know if there snake is infected?

Or is it that GHI Reptiles has the only infected snake????

If this is the case, its very safe to say that the virus came from Matt Lerer of GHI Reptiles and not Tim Bowles of Arboreals of the Rainforest...

Dates please, Matt, to clear the air.

When did Tim Bowles get this animal from you so we will know how long it was in his collection. Compare that time period with the probable timeframe of when this animal would have had to contract the virus.

What is the incubation time for this virus from the time it would have had to contract it to the time it would begin to show visible clinical signs of infection?

Put the cards on the table, please. Dates are needed to stop the finger pointing that is going to go into high gear.

I said it on the very first page of this thread, you Tim Bowles, have a personal vendetta against Matt. You knew everything you were doing! You knew that animal was very sick......You pumped it full of fluid and sent it to Matt hoping whatever that animal had would contaminate Matt's collection!!!!

And to let that snake get into that condition from the beginning shows that you are nothing but a scumbag who deserves to have his entire collection confiscated!!

How did that deal ever work out between you and Randy?

Tim obviously sent a sick animal to Matt. Anyone that saw the initial vet report citing the SQ injections can attest to that. Even if one were to be absurd enough to say that Matt made the injections (why would he???), it still leaves that snake being totally emaciated when it left Tim's hands! There is simply no way around that, Bobby!

All of this other talk is equivalent to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Tim has shown himself to be exactly what he previously despised in others.

What a shame!

So does this mean That Tim is right for sending a sick animal?

Tim injected the animal with subqeautanious injections of ___fluid.
Period end of story.

If Jesse Underhill sent me a sick animal or an animal that got sick......If I then proceeded to inject the animal with fluids to hide its TRUE disposition.... If I then sent the animal to anyone of you.
I would be a bad guy. And anyone who sides with me is too blind. Or can't see because their head is was up my *$$. Or is just as bad as me. Take your pick. Sending that animal in that condition is bad.

I forgot. It was not sick. It was UPS who oppened up the package. Gave the animal the virus. Then they proceeded to give SubQ injections to the animal. <---srcasm if you missed it.

Well guys Bobby definately has it in for me thats for sure! He has gone as far as to threaten me on another forum and was repremanded by the moderator for it. Even the moderator edited Bobbys post....but not before a copy was sent somewhere special.

With Bobby it is simple.....he hates me and states so in just about every other post. Tim is a very good friend of Bobbys and who knows how much Bobby really knows about this whole thing. He has picked at everything from it's a different snake, to I did the damage myself, to it was infected with Paramixo at my place and so on. He is a lot of hot air thats all.

Lets keep on track here with the problem at hand......the snake. She was necropsied today and we found some interesting things. One particular thing was the lungs were very bloody and obviously extremely irritated. The lower portion of her body was filled with a fluid that was almost gel-like. There was also blood in the lower portion. Her kidneys looked ok and the liver was enlarged a bit. The meal that she was forcefed 8 days ago was completely UNDIGESTED, it was a mouse. There was a lot going on with her and I will release the necropsy report as soon as I have it.

Has this thread degenerated itself to the point of pure speculation.

-How long does this virus need to incubate before it shows noticeable sigs of infection? I highly doubt Tim or anyone else that keeps arboreals "let" their snakes get these problems. Its one of the things that comes around with keeping arboreals. Sorry to say it.. but.. its a risk we take. I've lost three emeralds to ERS.. I didn't let them get that way.. just happened.

-Can we actually put a time frame on when the snake became infected? How can we tell the snake was infected in Tim's collection or Matt's? If its found that none of the other snakes in Tim's collection have it.. and none of the snakes sold by Tim have it.. well.. someone created quite a bit if slander (or is it libel.. I always forget which one its considered online) towards anothers business, which can have a very bad effect on Tim... and give Tim legal actions to take against Matt.

Just to echo the request for a timeline clarification, which was requested by the WebSlave, please provide the dates and information listed below:

Date of shipment to you
Date of receipt
Date of first vet check
Date of animal's expiration

What is the incubation period for this virus?
What is the absolute latest time frame in which this animal could have contracted this virus and still be dead by the date of expiration?

Those last two should be produceable from your vet, and the other information should be in your records somewhere. When these time frames are strung together in one place, it will be fairly well impossible for Mr. Pruett, or anyone else, to suggest that you got the animal in any way except SICK from Tim.

As you can see, I would like to see that timeline as well. However, even if it were proven that the specific virus discussed were not in Tim's collection (I don't think that's what we'll be finding, but I'm willing to be open-minded here), that still does not explain that animal showing up emaciated, listless, and pumped full of SQ injections to make it look otherwise!

No matter what, Tim sold Matt a snake that he knew to be sick! That much appears to be irrefuteable. Now, whether Tim knew that this virus was in the snake or not, who knows. It might explain why he was willing to sell the snake as he did, and it may explain why he is wanting to sell out of his collection (assuming that information is true, and **I** don't know first hand that it is!)

I think it is beyond the pail for anyone to suggest that Matt injected that snake, himself. What possible reason would he have for doing so? If it was to make the snake look better, and Matt wanted to mess with Tim, would leaving the snake rail thin be a better tactic??? That just doesn't make sense to me at all.

I'm really looking forward to those timelines being posted. However, I think Tim has made his own bed, is going to have to lie in it, and I'm not certain he's going to be able to get out of it, once he does. That's too bad.

Good point but you are obviously not a lawyer either. It is neither slander or libel.....according to the lab work...the snake I received from Tim Bowles of Arboreals of the Rainforest tests positive for the virus Paramixo.

Should I keep quiet and possibly let collections get infected. It is called taking preventive measures. I sincerely hope this is the only animal that has it and it was on me and thats it. But if you are Joe Smith and you saved for years to aquire enough money for a 'Basin' do you want it to possibly infect your colubrid, boid, or python collection? I thought not.

Scott we are well aware that you are Tims friend and you are trying to help but throwing out a silly slander statement is rediculous.

I would rather take a chance and save others the same heartache and possible financial catastrophy!
