Collecting blood directly from a snake's heart is standard proceedure for snakes...our saff veterinarian does it all the time.

Do yourself a favor, your problem is with Tim Bowles, not Ralph or Bobby Pruett. Cease communication with these other individuals and talk to Tim directly, and keep records on everything.

I've never seen blood collected from a snake's heart unless it was very ill. I would say it would probably be easier than trying to hit the tail vein! It can be hard to hit on a snake that is strong and healthy.

I agree that Jim should only deal with Tim. It's no one else's business. By the way, didn't Tim try to say that there was no way that Matt could take him to court because Matt lives in a different state. Just out of curiosity, Jim, do you live in the same state as Tim? If not, then he is going to have a hard time taking you to court as well.

I do not know why Bobby is getting in the middle of this. And with Tim telling me to give the animal back and that now I have 5 days makes me wonder if Ralph got his test back possitive for the virus and Ralph will keep quite about it But they know I wont so They need to get it back.

Just what exactly is Bobby planning to do over this? I mean, it's not libel to say that he's sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong, so there is no civil recourse for him. It's certainly not illegal for Jim to say what he has, so there is no legal recourse either.

So what exactly is Bobby suggesting? Is he making threats of physical violence? Because now that WOULD be illegal, and Jim would have tons of recourse there. Beyond which, threatening people over the internet is just lame at best, and dangerous at worst. Bobby needs to be careful about that...assuming that's what he's doing, of course.

Tim, you have no right to critisize anyone about being a class act....look what you did to me, Jim, Noe Perez, and a few others all within a month or two.

I want eveyone to keep in mind that I had to pay $2,500.00 for the animal above. The money had to be sent UP FRONT which is something I never did with Tim. The snake arrived with long term problems including the deadly virus 'Paramixo' and I was told I wasn't getting a refund because all of that stuff happened during shipping.

NOW WHO IS THE CLASS ACT TIM?

A lot of really good people talked to me at the expo and I didn't get the feeling that anyone of them were happy with what you have done with yourself in the last couple of months.

If I were you I wouldn't buy into Tim's threats or scare tactics.....do what you feel is right and only deal with Tim and nobody else. I also found out that Tim was 'playing' me for quite sometime and luckily he was playing me to a good friend and I am now well aware of what was going on.

It is very interesting that Tim so desperately wants that snake back before she gets tested......very interesting indeed.

It is so predictable that Tim is acting like this toward you Jim! A friend of Tims asked him why he made me pay up front for an animal and you who he hates.....he sends one to without payment....and Tim said because he was mad about having to return my money for sending me a basin that was packed improperly and concequently got messed up because of it. Is this right Tim? Is this the reason why I got the sick snake.

Tim Bowles I AM CALLING YOU OUT! 100% of the people here are saying you screwed up and should pay me a full refund...even your good friends are saying that you screwed up so are you going to pay me or not? All hope is not lost for you yet.....if you issue a full refund including vet bills you may still have a little life left in this business or in your case hobby. You have the big shots of the business saying you should do the right thing and issue a full refund, your friends are saying you screwed up and were wrong, everyone in the whole industry knows what you did was wrong.......so are you man enough to admit you did something wrong? I know you told me on the phone to basically go screw myself but I would like to hear it here. Noe bought a zoobred male emerald from Tim and asked him to hold him until Noe finished building a cage for the animal. When Noe was finished with the cage he called Tim and asked him to send the animal. Tim told Noe he sold the emerald out from under him instead of waiting for Noe to finish the cage. Noe told Tim he had about $250.00 in the cage and what was he suppose to do with it....Tim said he was sure Noe would find something to put in it. That was it...no appology no nothing. BAD BUSINESS!

Tim sent an obviously sick animal and ripped the person of for a couple thousand.
Then timn sends an animal to someone and tells them they do not have to hurry on payment. Then all of a sudden he is gonna file theft charges.

If Bobby can't figure out that Tim purposely sent a sick animal....then he is either blind, dumb, or he does the same exact thing......

Yes Richie, Danny's post should have answered your question. Bobby Pruett was already considered a bad guy by many of us after he stole money for that horrible snow boa. He basically pulled the same scam as Tim did. In my opinion, Bobby has a lot more to do with this then some people think.

Playing Devil's Advocate...

At least Bobby Pruett did reverse the deal unlike Tim has...but if it were not for the Fauna Classifieds BOI (and 10 pages of telling him he ripped off that guy for the snow boa) I'm sure that the snow boa case would have ended much the way this one is turning out given Bobby's history of *sub-par* animals and transactions.

That being said...I think it illustrates my point that none of these individuals (Tim or Bobby)are to be trusted.

There's alot of personal vendettas that are contributing to nothing short of animal abuse in these cases and the public needs to be made aware of these individual's tactics which involve lies and threats (both legal and physical).

If these are the characteristics you seek in vendors then Pruett and Bowles are your team.

I totally agree with you Dennis that birds of a feather flock together.

Necropsy Report

I just had the Necropsy report faxed to me by my vet. Without all of the big words it plainly says this: The snake had severe liver disease and in the vets own words at the lab the liver was completely shot! She had marked hemmoraging in her airways which explained all of the blood in her lungs and she was positive for Paramyxovirus.

The interesting thing about the Paramyxovirus is that she was in the very early stages of it and in the lab vets opinion she was recently exposed to it.

That at least puts me at ease in knowing that it didn't originate from my collection!

Too recent to have been the result of an exposure from your earlier ownership of the animal, but not recent enough to have been the result of your last possession of her, correct???

Obviously, that is the way it was, because the animal came to you sick, and it was never introduced into your collection. However, there will be some who would not have made the comparative deductions from what you wrote above.

OK, Tim, as though you didn't already know this, is NOW OFFICIALLY TIME TO PAY UP!!!!!!!!!! Suck it up and do what you know is right here, Tim!

Hey Darin,

He just said that she was in the stage of the virus that points to recent exposure. She was not in the 'shedding' stage which means that she could not pass the disease easily to any other snake. My own vet said that just about the only way she could infect any of my collection would be actually spraying her blood on them. I don't think the vet was serious about that but I think it was to make a point to me.

This animal was placed in a brand new rubbermade tub with brand new PVC perches and was not in contact with any other snake. She was taken directly to the vets the next day and was tested for the virus the next day also.

So she did not have full blown Paramyxovirus but was in the early stages of it.

She was doomed for awhile
