    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just wanted to give some kudos to Neil. I purchased 3
female ball pythons from him. He was very nice to work with.
The animals were shipped properly and arrived on time, healthy,
and eating. I would happily buy from him again!

I too just had a good experience with Neil.

I wanted a pair of snakes he was selling but the timing was off for me. He was more then flexible in the arrangement of the deal I proposed to him and made it easier on me to get the snakes when I actually wanted them.

I was impressed that someone woudl take the time to trust soemone they didn't know as I know this business is notorious for people making bad deals and not following through.

OK.. Neil's gonna get a Big Head but I have to respond to this... He was gonna take some baby Veileds to Jacksonville but I asked him to hold onto them for me... He was more than willing to work it out with me and I must Say.. I am soooo looking forward to making the trip down there to get them. Neil is a Wonderful addition to the Reptile World!!! Very knowledgeable and a great Help!!!!!! Thanks again Neil and don't let your head swell up too much or it won't fit into your Hat!!!!!

I like Neil also....

But this could have been added to other threads just like it. You guys should do a search on people before starting another one. You would see that there was already a good guy post on him (on 11/19 Started by by Dan Elrod) that this could have been added to.

I think Neil is a good guy also!
 
What Rick said (about the previous threads) and Neil, I hope you got all of Cathy's and Jason's money before you agreed to hold the animals for them.

Neil Gubitz a good guy?? HA ! Come on guys, we know this is a huge understatement. I just did my first transaction with Neil and I must say that it was the smoothest, fastest and most rewarding I have had to date. As for his terms...I guess I should call him up and whine about his misrepresentation. In the ad I replied to Neil says that the boa is orange, orange, orange ,orange. Well upon opening the package I found this orange , orange, orange,orange, orange , orange,orange, orange boa. As you can see Neil left out a few oranges. False advertisement??
Anyway, to any of you who read the BOI from time to time , researching sellers and not the animals for sale as I do, Neil is the man. So you can stop reading my post now and check out his site and find what you need. I must warn you though, dont expect what is described to be what you get.What you get will be way better than that old man can describe.
If your experience with him is anything like mine, any doubts you may have had about ordering from the Snake Pit will be laid to rest.
 
It's funny that you guys talk about misrepresentation. I got a couple of female German Giants from him. He told me on the phone that they are about 8" long. So I open the box this morning thinking I'm going to find two 8" long lizards, and instead I find two 10"-11" long lizards. It was a good price, too.
 
I must say!

I had the same experience with a veiled I got from Neil.. It was much bigger than I expected. And very nice on top of that!

i would not hesitate to send someone his way!!
 
Well, I keep meaning to post on this thread, but everytime I read the post ahead of me I cannot help but feel this rude joke bubbling up...
So ignoring all of the "much bigger than expected" comments, I'll just say yes--Neil=good guy to do business with.

I must agree, Neil is a great guy to do business with. But I'm not just posting this to boost his ego...It's also a funny anecdote.
I purchased a pair of Hog Island Boas from Neil this week. Neil was great to work with, holding the pair for me and shipping as soon as payment was recieved. They were packaged great and arrived just on time.
The problem I thought I had was that Neil was sending me a pair of Hypo hogs, the picture he had of them was great. Imagine my disappointment when I looked in the box and saw this:

Now, I've never owned a boa, and I didn't know the extent of their color change ability. So I assumed Neil, being a busy man had inadvertenly sent the wrong hogs. I mean, he can't do all his own footwork...right?
Anyway, we emailed Neil and fretted awaiting a solution. In the meantime we did a little research. And what did we find when we checked in on the babies later:

The difference was amazing...She actually gets lighter than that.
So not only was I thoroughly embarrassed, I was too happy to care (and still am.)
I ended up with exactly what I hoped for, and more as there was no hassle at all in dealing with Neil.

I got the pleasure of meeting neil in person last year. He came down to Dallas and stopped by to see our facility. He was great, not a dull moment with him around. I would not hesitate to do business with him. The only thing is next time around I get to go out drinking with the guys and Neil you can pay my way. LOL.

more misrepresentation

This is something I have been thinking about posting since last night, and I am finally doing it because I don't want others to be fooled as I have. Whether it was done intentionally or not, really isn't important. The fact that so many things turned out false is the issue. I think that before someone posts an ad they should make sure that everything they say in the ad is true.
The orange female I refered to in my good guy post is very orange, no doubt about that. But she is almost a foot shorter than she was advertised as, and "she" is not a "she"at all.
When I received her from Neil I was a little dissapointed with the size, and he offered me a full refund, which I decided not to take, as it was a very pretty snake , and the size wasn't that important.
Yesterday was the first time I was able to get him somewhere to be sexed, and at that time I was still under the assumption ,base on the ad, and emails from Neil, that it was a female. When I took her to very a trusted herp store owner friend of mine 45 minutes away , he could tell almost immediately that my beautiful female, was really a handsome male, and probed her just to make sure. IT IS A MALE.
When I first emailed Neil about this he stated that it had been probed and poped by about 4 people, all who said it was a female, but later changed his tone saying that I never said I wanted a female. If I didn't want a female why would I have paid for a female, and even sent pics of the male I planned to breed her to? Now he is offering me a $50 refund if I can send him pics of a hemipenis.
I think that "popping " an '01 animal is a little to dangerous , and am declining that as well.
Any boa experts are more than welcome to chime in and say whatever they want, and if they say it is fine to pop a year and a half old snake then I guess Neil is right, but right now I just want to let people know about what I am going through.Thanks for listening.

The problem is that I wasn't selling it as a female (per say), I was selling it as an ORANGE BOA.... If I said it was four feet instead of three, I probably hit the wrong key and just didn't realize it (typo).... THAT'S ALL IT WAS!....
I'm offered you $50 in compensation, to see if that would help.... I really don't feel I owed you anything but an apology IF IF IF the snake is REALLY a Male??.... I probed and popped it, and two other well-known folks probed and popped it as a female????.... I sold it originally as a female, and I bought it as a 17" baby as a female.... That's where the other well-knwn peope come from.... that's why it was probed three or four times.... AS A FEMALE???.... NO PEENS EVER POPPED OUT!.... The ONE GUY that probes it a male, how do I know he didn't screw up and poke a hole in HER???.... If you can show me a picture of the "peens", well, that's a different story, but, I STILL don't think a full refund is warranted after my 24 hour guarantee is up???.... That's why I give that guarantee.... Not to mention the fact that you already refused a refund....
David.... I really don't think it was fair for you to post this at this time!.... I have never ONCE ignored your emails.... the only thing I didn't do was come right out and tell you to send her back for a refund.... and now, I won't.... not after this!.... I was ALL SET to do just that, too.... but, you just blew it!.... I tell everyone.... if you work with me, I'll work BETTER with you.... but, come off like this, and you're on your own!....
I'm truly sorry it has to end like this.... you should try to work things like this out in private FIRST!.... THEN, if you CAN'T work it out.... come here.... NOW, you can type all you want....
What you just did is NOT RIGHT!.... I was all set to work with you to YOUR satisfaction.... but, if THIS is the way you want to treat me??.... well, it worked!
