• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Neil Gubitz (Good Guy)

Im glad to see that once Neil calmed down, he stepped up and completely took care of the problem. Even throwing in the extra that was spent on the sexing from the vet. Way to go Neil!!!

On behalf of the boa!

Everyone agrees he is a beautiful animal. So please, once Neil puts him up for sale again, someone buy him for good and put a stop to his journey. That boa has probably accumulated enough "frequent flier miles" for a round trip to Colombia! :)

So now Neil is a saint again in everyones eyes. After he did the right thing after being called to the carpet on the matter. I'm sorry but I still don't see it. I agree with Sean Belanger, Neil takes praise very well but say one thing against him and you run the risk of the wrath of his "new york attitude" Then after a bit he will calm down and everyone will shower him with praise and think "Neil the customer service god, did the right thing again" I'm not surprised at how this one ended, I've seen similar instances before.

Steve,

So now Neil is a saint again in everyones eyes. After he did the right thing after being called to the carpet on the matter.

Most (if not all of the people posting in here) agreed a refund was in order. Neil decided to give a refund. The feedback that has been given so far is with regards to that action. Nothing else. If we want to be fair is had to go both ways.

I'm not surprised at how this one ended, I've seen similar instances before.

Meaning what? That they always had a happy ending?

Best regards.

Thank you, Steve.... you just PROVED my second to last post!....
No matter WHAT you do, there will ALWAYS be some people that just don't like you.... that's inevitable!.... but....

....did you ever hear the phrase, "Forgive and Forget"??.... You should try it sometimes, you actually might like it!....

Steve, Neil and I have "BUTTED" heads in the past, so I have some personal knowledge of him. He is quite a showman, but you have to remember there are some people/dealers out there that do not give a crap about popular opinion. Seems like in the end Neil usually does do the right thing.

Neil,
You seem to think that if someone disagrees with you, that they don't like you. Maybe it is because they don't like what you do and not who you are.

Steve,

So now Neil is a saint again in everyones eyes. After he did the right thing after being called to the carpet on the matter. I'm sorry but I still don't see it.

I went back and read your post again to make sure I understood what you said. Please correct me if I am wrong, but you mean that the true character in a person is shown when he does the right thing when no one else is watching. And I agree with you 100%.

In the quote above you apparently imply that Neil steps-up to the plate only when his mishaps are brought into the open.

The only problem is that if there are that many unsatisfied customers out there, then why don't we have more people posting their bad experiences? Is it because the response of some of the members of the BOI is sometimes intimidating? Rest assured that with the new warning system in place, things will certainly change.

Best regards.

I didn't think my post would be very popular, but I think I know most of you well enough that you will respect my opinions just as I do yours, so I felt comfortable posting what I did.

Neil, you are right, some people will dislike you no matter what you do, and in spite of my post I do believe that you are an honest and sincere person. I do believe that you are one of the good guys in the hobby, and if circumstances warrented it I would not hesitate to do business with you.

Alvaro, I did not mean to imply that I thought Neil only did the right thing when called to task. I guess what I meant is that he does a very good job at making people aware that he is going to do the right thing. I think he has a way of getting people interested in a thread by whatever means, and then when he has everyone's attention he announces, I'll offer a full refund plus, and everyone thinks he is such a great person for doing what he either should do anyway, or planned to do all along. This is what I meant when I said I've seen it before.

I must admit that I was wrong in an earlier post when I said it was clear to me that Davey wanted a refund. Obviously I missed the signs that seemed to confuse the rest of you (they didn't confuse me and they probably should have if I had been paying more attention.)

Just stumbled upon this thread again and was curious what became of it. I saw a pic of the snake and no doubt that is one gorgeous orange Boa, I mean i'm a gecko guy but it is surely smokin! Anyhow just curious..... Mike

Well Michael and Erica,
I had hoped that this wouldn't come up until Neil had done something about it, but that has not happened and you asked, so here we go.
On Feb.11th Neil and I had this exchange of PMs

I am glad that this is coming to an end. As you know, or I hope you know, I do not expect you to refund anything, but if this is how you would like to see this closed then we can make arrangements for that. The weather here has taken a rather nasty turn, but I will be in contact with you to let you know how everything is going.
Thank you.

Dave.... To be honest.... I'd rather you kept the snake and let me pay you "something" in compensation for TWO mistakes??... Say, $100??? That would at least give you $68 to spend?.... lol
I am so overloaded with snakes right now, I don't have any room.... would that $100 work for you, or is your mind set about sending him back??.... If it is, then just send him and I'll work it out somehow....

Neil,
If you are comfortable with $100, then that works for me, as I have alreay made extra space for this guy and never really thought you would take it back anyway. He is very friendly, beautiful, and east like a horse, so no complaints there. I am sure he will make a great breeder one day. Now I have to be on the lookout for a couple of females. Thanks for the experience. When it is all said and done we need to have a nice little public forum handshake, because I really have no hard feelings over this, but don't know how it is on your end.

As of right now I have yet to recieve an email form Neil, or paypal, and haven't gotten a PM or a phone call either, and it has been a week. I must admit, that the offer was nice, and did shut me up for a week. I don't know if that's what it was meant to do, or if thats just how it seems, since I havent heard from Neil.
I am probably going to get attacked for jumping the gun with this post, but you asked about the resolution, and as of right now... there is nothing at all. Maybe it is my responsibility to write and remind Neil that he owes me money, but I don't feel that that should be up to me.
Thanks for inquiring, and I hope this answers some of the questions I have had so many emails about from others.__________________

Yes, Davey.... You WILL get jumped on again for jumping the gun....
Go check your emails again.... like the one I sent about three minutes after you responded to my $100 offer!.... I've emailed you TWICE already asking you for your PayPal addy, so I CAN pay you back.... as of this date, I haven't heard word one from you....

....Neil

Was that in emails or PMs Neil? I have recieved neither. Are you sure it was sent to my email address? If this was something I over looked, I am soory, but I don't have any emails from you, nor PMs.

Nope,no more questions.
However, I would like an answer to the question above, I got all of your other PMs just fine, so it must not have been PM, and if you know my email address to email and ask me my info , then you have my address to send me money. Thats how paypal works. Besides, I paypalled you, you should already have my info from that transaction. If not paypal you could have sent it to my house, you have my address, you did send me the snake. You have my phone number even, you wrote it on the package that you sent. Turn it around, flip it upside down, I didn't do anything wrong. This isn't personal. If it was I would post on other threads that involve you. You cannot expect me to not post here in response to a question asked about our deal. I am not in the wrong. I don't have the money, and responded based on that and the fact that I never got an email from you.
Dave

Neil and Davey,

Please correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't used Papal that much, but one person once send me money through Paypal and it went directly to my e-mail account.

The message I received (on my e-mail) was: "so and so" just sent you money through Paypal.

Neil stated that he sent two e-mails to Davey. Davey replied stating he received nothing. As we always say, it goes both ways and we always give both parties a fair chance to post their points of view.

Neil, you can rebut Davey's assertions (implying a week had gone by without an effort on your side to pay what you both agreed upon) by simply posting in here both e-mails you sent. One way or the other the goal is to have this issue resolved.

Best reqards.

In Neils defense of asking for Davey's email to send paypal, I ALWAYS make that request when using paypal. I don't care if I have sent 100 messages to the person. Some people have more than 1 email address and their paypal one is different from the one they use on a regular basis. This doesn't explain the missing emails or pms if they are out their, but Davey, send Neil another email and state clearly

send my paypal payment to the following email address ...

Even if it is the same one you used to send him the message.

He asked you for your email on this forum (never mind the lost messages) and you said

"nope, no more questions" What the heck is that. I understand you are upset but all this could possibly be fixed with one more email from you. To me you seem bent on making Neil really work for this. Telling him to check his paypal account, and using the shipping address etc. Why not simply give him the benefit of the doubt and send him another email with your email address, and see what happens.

Is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling that when Davey says "no hard feelings" he doesn't really mean it, and that Neil won't be getting any more of his business.
