• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

    Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated

    Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I just became a contributing member thanks to this post and you two. I had been wondering how to become one and the link Lucille provided made it a snap. Thanks David. This will come in handy, because I am getting ready to sign on the dotted line for an upgraded server. Faster processors, faster hard drive (actually adding another drive as well), and more memory. Hopefully that will curtail the loading problems we've been having here for a little while.

But you all know what that means, don't you?

my 2 cents..

I went ahead and became a contributing member as well since it seems like the right thing to do. I like the site very much and beleive it serves a great purpose to those in this hobby.
I had a thought. I have been bidding on several items on EBAY that benefit the people affected in the tsunami. What if people that want to support Fauna could list or donate something to auction on ebay and have a paypal link on the auction going to Rich. What better way to raise money for Rich to upgrade the site. People could auction off anything they didnt want anymore and we would have a bigger and better site to enjoy. ( not to mention helping out Webslaves retirement fund :hehe: )
I am not a genious but sometimes I have good ideas.:dunce:

You know, I have been hearing this more times then I would have thought. Anyone can find the path to become a contributor, as well as a forum sponsor by simply clicking on the User CP link in the menu bar right below the section at the top of the screen that shows you the path to where you are now located. In the right hand section of this area you will see the message Welcome, *yourname*. Simply click on that, then in the next screen, within the Control Panel pane on the left of the screen, select the menu option that says Paid Subscriptions.

I intend on making this a LOT easier to find by simply making the Contributors icon a direct link to the Paid Subscriptions page. I actually used to have it that way, but it got dropped in the upgrade to this latest version of the message board software.

Anyway, thanks everyone, for thinking of me. Sometimes you all really make me feel guilty for the MANY times I have felt like throwing my hands in the air, screaming like a demented chicken, and pulling the plug on this site. :nuts:
 
I'm relatively new to the site, as I am just getting back into reptiles again after about 6yrs away. still lotsa info, though it may be a bit dusty and outdated - and will toss in my 2 cents worth as I see the chance. LOVE the site, happy to contribute. with a little luck, will have a variety of babies for sale this year - find'em here!!

There seems to be quite a few more BOLDED names when you go to the section at the bottom where it shows the active users over the past 24 hours. I think it would be great if it were reversed and there were more contributers than non-contributers. This way we can avoid Webslave doing the Chicken dance. :dancer01:
