    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, now I am getting pissed.....

As much as I would like to blame it on inbreeding, I honestly feel that most problems with hatchlings and egg death are human error...... It took me nearly a year to get my Urban breeding stock because I waited to get the best animals from different parents...... I could have had my group in one buy but most of the better animals were from the same pair......

If you think about it, all it takes is like 2 generations of outcrossing to do away with alot of problems that stem from inbreeding......

Like I said, I wish I could say that my animals suck and it is nothing I did wrong, but the fact is, it could have been something I did...... This experiance is making me go over everything with a fine toothed comb...... Who knows, it could be something as simple as using bigger incubation containers with more air space...... I guess we shall see.....

Same incubator..... Even in the same container as some of the tangs that hatched already..... This sucks bad......

I'm really sorry to hear about your losses, Gregg. This makes me believe that it's not necessarily something you've done, though. Did you breed the father of these premies to any other females? If so, how are their eggs? If they're good, I'd look at the Hybino mom to be the problem.

As far as trying to diversify the genes in your Urban Gecko line, they're all pretty much going to be traced back to just a handful of parents, aren't they? And, those will be traced back to Ray Hine, right? And He got his from one, maybe two specimens from the wild, right? Something to think about when we try to have 'Pure' UG or other lines. I think Kelli and the others had it right a couple years ago when it seemed almost all of her hatchlings were SHCT x Tangerine crosses. Was the Hybino outcrossed, or part of someone's linebreeding program?

I'm sure he and Craig outcrossed to prevent major problems like I believe PP did with the patties, but somewhere along the line, something either has or will go wrong with the SHCT line, I'm sure. Most likely it will be done by someone ignorant of the consequences.

I'm really glad I've still got my original High Yellows from 99! In fact, I've got two eggs incubating from them, because I'm trying to prove my genetic circleback theory.

I'm rambling around to slightly different topics, but I think the SHCT market will take a big nosedive real soon (as if it hasn't already), seeing as I've seen several of them in PetCo's in SoCal lately. Someone (RT?) is dumping them wholesale. Here's a pic I took last night of the one I broke my rule on a few weeks ago with.

I think this happened to me! i just had an egg hatch today, the baby was half way out for like 2 hours. I misted it. She came out of the egg, but died a short time after. It appeared to have breathing problems the whole time it was out of the egg. an a concaved mid section. I will take pics if anyone thinks that would help figuring out what happened.

my gecko just came back to life! I could of swore she kicked the bucket, but I keepted her in a container with moist towl inside in the incubator I just went to get her to burry her out in the yard. she was off her side sleeping under some moss.
