    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It's not a matter of how long Toni's had to think about it - what's to guarantee Toni will even see the ultimatium before time is up?

Personally I wouldn't consider that money "mine" until there was some kind of closure on this. I don't think the snake can stay boarded at the vets forever. Or maybe it can, but that would be really weird.
 
This thread has gone on so long...did I miss where Toni decided to send the snake back & accept the refund? Or is she still holding out for ALL the vet bills? While I agree that Toni might not actually SEE the ultimatum before its deadline, why is she waiting so long to make up her mind? If (if, if, if) I was in that situation and the seller finally quit dragging their feet & offered the refund, I'd drive the hour to the seller's house with ALL the snakes and have her go with me to the nearest bank to verify the validity of the money orders (trust no one), AND BE DONE WITH IT. Take her to small claims court for the vet bill if she feels that she is in the right on that. At least she'd have the bulk of her money & have to abide a judges ruling on the vet bill.

147, the money was offered a month ago. The 24 hours means nothing. Besides, either you or Tosha could relay the information, since Tosha speaks for Toni, and you've already shown to have information about her, you must talk to her too.
The fact is, toni doesn't want anyone to see that snake. I'd be tempted to contact that vet and go see it.

I don't see why people don't understand, the fact that you and others can respond with dissenting opinions is exactly why the BOI works. So far the BOI seems to have been effective in at least getting Debbie to offer the money back, and a possible intermediary.
Tools are only as good as their users. You're allowed to state your opinion - I'm allowed to state mine.

My opinion is that the snake wasn't sick to start with, but received some sort of shipping injury. Debbie is supposed to cover this according to her TOS - either via refund or replacement. It's reasonable for her to request the snake back, however. He may recover given some time and TLC.
As to why Toni's run off... I don't know. I agree that if I were her I'd at least want to get what money I could, then work out the vet fees, rather than take an all or nothing approach. At least with the former you're guaranteed $1500 back.

Its sad when people all agreed that one thing should happen in the beginning, and then.... one person takes that and RUNS with it, and now refuses anything BUT their way.

Speaking of painting a picture, the various spokespersons for Toni have delivered to us a lot of uncorroborated info. Is Toni indeed in the hospital? I of course hope she is better if so, but I don't really think I want to takes as gospel information that several people who obviously have taken sides give out. And certainly, no reasonable person that has a business issue would deal with self appointed spokespersons.

Tosha recently opined what would happen in court and I find it funny that the Toni spokepersons continue to post after her pronouncement. If they think Toni has an open and shut case (I do not) there would be no need to say anything further, it would be a done deal. They seemingly have abandoned that stance.

It seems like the Toni set is blowing a different flavor of smoke every few days just to see if one flavor might work.

Tosha, question: does the VET think the snake is "in agony?" If the vet believes the snake is suffering, I'd be much more in sympathy with Toni's determination to euthanize it. But I doubt this is the case, because if the vet did suspect unmitigated agony, logic dictates that he would say so and/or urge euthanasia, and then you, Toni, and 147boas would be filling up the threads with it since it would be supporting information in your favor. I really wonder what the vet thinks of the snake's CURRENT diagnosis and long-term prognosis. Why can no one tell us this? Why is it a big secret? Sharing the vet's opinion with those of us who are concerned about the snake would not in any way compromise a court case, and your/Toni's refusal to do so is the primary factor in my personal suspicion that Toni is not being entirely honest (not to mention hard-headed, unreasonable and vindictive - which I mean in the nicest way possible, of course).

I agree with Capt. Nemo and Wolfy: both this thread and the BLBC one contain lots of rhetoric but few actual facts. It's like a car wreck and I can't stop rubber-necking. Ugh.

Toni has already stated to me that she will not return the snake or consider any other options but still wants her money. She is not interested, period. Really nothing more to state.

Don't start that crap. There are varying opinions just like there are on BLBC. Debbie is no more in a clique here than Tosha. You don't see anyone here stating you, Toni and Tosha are in a clique over there that's why you are so die hard against seeing any other point of view, do you? Cut the antagonism against the site.

Personally I would just send the money if I were Debbie and wash my hands of it and let her keep the snake but it's not my transaction.

Debbie has said in her emails posted here that she said did not want the snake back and she also confirmed in this thread that she told Toni she could necropsy the snake if she wanted to as it was hers to deal with. All Debbie asked for was the vet report to confirm the snake was as Toni described. She has gotten the vet report and should pay up as per their agreement. You don't get to keep changing the terms of an agreement to suit your mood. The snake will be euthanized so that Toni will know exactly what was wrong with it. Debbie can live up to her word or not.

Sounds more like a bargaining chip if you ask me. If she was going to euthanize the snake anyway, why not going ahead and do it. Why wait 4 or 5 months, talking about it or threatening it, all the while demanding her money. Why let the snake sit at the vets office all this time building up boarding fees if she plans to kill the snake anyway. It's just plain retarded in my opinion. Sounds too much like scam on Toni's part, or just plain vindictiveness.

Anyway, I need a new hobby. As I said, I can't wait to hear the outcome of court proceedings, as this whole case will probably get laughed out of court. Especially considering the snake is still alive (how long has it been now?) as far as I know. Still eating and shedding and defecating as far as I know. The other two snakes (who were shipped right next to this maligned snake) are still in perfect health as far as I know. Toni's whole case is laughable at this point to me, especially since a refund has been offered and she won't accept it.

I really love how you keep re-stating that "debbie said she didn't want the snake back" and "debbie told her to necropsy the snake". You know, in those same emails she also said she would not refund the amount paid. That she would send a replacement. SIMPLY :censored: amazing that terms and agreements can change, isn't it? Much like YOU have said you're done with the BOI so many years ago, and yet are still here, eh?

Stop prancing around on center stage. IF Toni is hospitalized, let her get better and deal with it all herself. You yourself said, a few posts ago, that she supposedly could not 'deal with' this now.

It is her deal, and Debbie's, to make. This deal is seriously losing a lot, in the translation, through you. At this point, neither one of the parties need you to put a spin on everything here because in my opinion, it continues to detract from any possible mutually acceptable solution.

:iagree: I was wondering earlier today how much of Toni's stubborness has been fostered by her friends.
 
Here's is my opinion now that time has passed.

1. Debbie has ultimately done the right thing or at least is trying to, along with Dennis' help. The ball (no pun intended) is in Toni's court and no one else (hint hint Tosha!!).

2. There has been no update on the snake in question in a long time and very well can be 100% recovered, for all we know, and IMO can be the reason why Toni refuses to return it.

3. There has also been no update to the status of the other two snakes that were shipped along with the snake in question. Had this been ibd as Toni implied than they should very well be showing signs three months later. Because of this, she has no right to keep the snake hostage so that she can put it down for testing as she claims.

4. IMO bringing up ibd as Toni did was a ploy to sway things to her favor.

5. I still have doubts at this point that the snake mentioned in the vet report is even the snake in question until otherwise proven.

6. Toni needs to understand that if she wants to keep the snake then she must pay for the snake and not receive a refund, and the more she insist on keeping it the worse it makes her appear.

7. This whole thing is starting to smell a little fishy to me!!

Your MO here is to take sides right away in a thread without seeing all the facts and looking only at one side. Then you befriend the individual and you become their spokes person, it's becoming a predictable habit you have and it's quite annoying and laughable.
