Stephanie, you accused him of shipping USPS and to me, that's a really big deal when people ship that way because each time people do that and get caught, it is bad for the whole herp community. He did not, in fact, ship USPS. He had proof he shipped Fedex.
It was not right to smear him with that kind of accusation.

Wow now that makes a big difference shredded paper,, Both of which will shift around and soon leave the snake cooking on the heat pack.

Someone over on RTB told her that they require dead snakes returned to them as proof and she seems to be stuck on that. For those that didn't read that thread Steph here was less than honest with them and had them thinking that Brian was trying to scam her. Where I would hope they would have felt different if she had been honest with them..

Stephanie you are the only one tarnishing your reputation, the longer you keep this going without a resolution the more tarnished it will get. Look at it this way, would it be any different if you had just sold the animal to Brian and it showed up DOA ? Nope you'd still owe him. The only difference is that you owe him his animals returned at your expense.

You screwed up and your screw up is what most likely killed that snake. Ship the guy his animals and learn from this experience.. Randy

Obvious mistake.. never put a snake over a heat pack!! I just received 3 snakes by DHL yesterday and the heatpacks were all packed on the side with papertowel between the containers AND the heatpacks themselves...and enough papertowel was used to prevent the snake containers from shifting..and all 3 snakes were alive, well and alert.

Did you HONESTLY think that the FedEx employee KNOWS how animals are suppose to be shipped.. her job was to pick up the package and bring it back to the fedex facility.. The End. And FYI.. You're own admission on how you packed the snake is proof enough that it was wrong. You answered your own question there sweetie pie.

btw.. there's a difference between shavings.. and shredded paper.. so tell us..why did you keep the box that the hog was shipped to you, but not the same box that you received brian's snakes in.... that's kinda odd if you ask me..

Second picture is from Brian.. all i did was crop the picture down due to it's excessively large size and rotated the picture to match the positioning of the snake from Stephanie's....

Now tell me.. is that the same snake or not...the 3 markings above the eyes are a dead give away (no pun intended)

I was wondering the same thing. The box reeked before I even opened it. I knew just from the smell that it was dead. I didn't even need to look at the snake. My heart dropped when I saw the poor little bugger. I wish the snake was alive and that this whole thing would have never happened. I mean if she sent me her snake first and it showed up alive then I sent her the balls and they showed up dead. Do you think she would be happy? Do you think she would just write it off?
Hell no nobody would! I was looking for a project not cash. And the balls are not what I am focusing on. It isn't that I don't care about them she told me they arrived fine and as a responsible animal owner that she was I figured they would be fine. She told me she had tons of experience. She talks about raising bantams and all this hoo haw. I helped run a bantam farm for my friend that has over 10,000 chickens on it. Some of these bantams go for $10-20,000 each. We have Chinese, Japanese and people from all over the world that come to my friends farm just to buy chickens.
I can say I did this and I did that too, but the proof is in the pudding. Look at the facts. 1+1=2 not 3

As you can see in the pictures the skin laying next to it is the skin I peeled off of the snake so you could see the pattern. The snake was about to shed and that is a stressful process for a snake. It needs extra humidity, which that species of snake needs anyhow. With the skin on the head she was positive that wasn't her snake and I was trying to rip her off. So I peeled what was supposed shed, off of the snake and you could see the pattern perfectly. The snake when I got it looked dehydrated(dead of course). Well if I get my snakes, I will ship her dead snake back to her. That is the only thing that will resolve this issue.

Hum: You should take a picture of the dead snake in the exact same position as the one she provided. Make her look like a fool for saying you did a quick switch.

The snake was clearly in shed when he received it...

She's lied about the shipping methods used by Brian to make him look inexperienced, uncareful, and just generally scummy to the RTB forum to make a better case for herself.

She's admitted to packing the snake wrong (whether she thinks it was correct or not) what else went wrong?

I still wonder if she actually offered to send the snakes back, or if it was a half hearted attempt to gain some time. Without any emails, it's a moot point.

Do you want today's newspaper displayed with his license and the snake folded like a pretzel to prove it's dead? The snake's dead, if he sends it to you, he's lost all evidence that the snake is the same as the picture you provided.

I say Brian is out on this deal, send him the money.

Whether you think its "fair" isn't really debatable. Your trying to get some sort value out of this, scrounging for the small shipping fee to make yourself feel like you didn't do anything wrong.

I'd think a reputation is worth more than a 50$ shipping fee.

I get the feeling Brian is going to be stuck with a dead snake and Stephanie isn't going to reimburse him or send his BP's back. I also don't think she is going to post here again since no one fell her her BS story.
She lied about the shipping Brian used, posted a BS version of the transaction on RTB to make people feel sorry for her, and has shown she doesn't care that the snake she shipped out is dead.
She is DEFINITELY a person to avoid EVER doing business with.

As for the snake smelling when you got it Brian, my guess it was just the heat pack that got it ripened quicker but ya never know.

Lets give her a few hours to respond here before we tar and feather her and run her out of reptile town on a rail.

Stephanie I hope that your lack of further response is for one of the reasons I mentioned above. This isn't worth completely destroying your reputation over. In case you didn't know this thread will be here till this site goes away and many many people look here before doing business with anyone. Right now you are not looking all that good, time to turn that around and get this taken care of.. Randy

All I can say the next email I get from her better be a tracking number for my snakes. If not, I can escalate this much further. She doesn't realize all of the connections I have. My friends grandpa used to be partners with
Ron Tremper. I talk with too many people for this to go away!

It is more than convincing to me that she does not want to be out the money, and is putting herself before her customer by refusing any compensation because the shipper (fedex) will not pay for any dead animal. Whether by her idea or her BF/Husband, the mood changes dramatically when he sends the photo's, and all attempts at compensation are tossed out the window by her.
