In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am sorry to hear that. Below is our terms and guarantee. There is no way that animal should have been shipped like that and the person should guarantee it specially when it arrived in that shape. Unfortunately there are alot of sellers that have in their terms that they are not responsible for carrier mistakes and or delay's. I use to have this in our terms but realized that it is not the customers responsibility. It is the sellers responsibility until the animals arrive at their destination.

* * All animals are sold the healthiest I can provide

* *All animals are represented accurately.

* * Live arrival is guaranteed if picked up within 4 hours of arrival or signed for on first delivery attempt. I must be notified of any D.O.A. and proof may be required. Credit will be issued for any D.O.A. either via refund or replacement on next order . No Guarantee where temps are below 35 degrees or above 90 degrees.

* * All sales are final. No refunds. Exchanges can be made only under extreme circumstances which I deem appropriate

Here is a copy of my shipping terms

All animals are guaranteed to be properly sexed and healthy. However, given the number of animals I produce on an annual basis, even I make an occasional error while sexing neonates. If an animal has been mis-sexed, I will need to be notified of
it within the first 7 days after arrival. I will not sell any animals until they have shed and are established feeders. I make every effort to portray each animal honestly and fairly. If for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, it may be returned within 7 days for a full refund, replacement, or credit of the purchase price. Payments received via Paypal will be credited in full less the 3% Paypal Transaction Fee. I must be notified in advance of any and all returns. Additionally, all returns must be shipped in the original containers with shipping pre-paid. Initial shipping expenses are non-refundable.

Shipping Guarantee

I guarantee live arrival under the following condition:

A responsible person is available to receive & inspect the package on the pre-determined
delivery day. If someone is not home to receive the package as agreed upon, the Live Delivery
Guarantee is voided.

Terms --

Orders must be prepaid before shipping. I accept casheirs check, money order, Paypal, or credit cards through Paypal. Delivery will be on hold for fourteen (14) days if money order or casheir's checks are used.

I do take 20% non refundable deposits on animals. I will also take nonrefundable partial payments. That means if you cancel I get to keep your money.

Live arrival GUARANTEED - You paid for a live animal you will get a live animal.
Sex GUARANTEED - You paid for a certain sex. You will get that sex.
Morph Hets GUARANTEED - If purchasing a het for a certain morph......Their "hetness" is guaranteed. But the guarantee is only extended to the original buyer (the person who bought it directly from me)

Complete refunds or replacements will be issued....with no extra shipping charges.

Well I do have one exception to my guarantee.

If expecting a delivery, please be available. Packages left at the door step have a good chance of dying and will NOT be guaranteed if left for more than one (1) hour in the summer time or three (3) hours in the winter time. In other words be home or have someone home to accept the packages.

I must be contacted within 7 days if there is something wrong with the animal. FULL refunds or replacements will be issued, but only when I have received verification.....ie. returned animal or pictures of said animal. (NOTE: The Seven day period can be and has been extended by me and only me. It is there only to protect me from other people's husbandry problems.)

My animals will have shed and fed on their own before shipping. They will be mite free and outwardly healthy.

You will need to have the animal checked by a vet if you don't think that it is healthy.

I do not ship first in a trade unless I am the one to initiate it .

Keep in mind. I am only a hobby at the moment.
Just thought I would tell you that since some people think my "business" decisions does not count since I am not a business.
But those are my terms. They are the minimum. And each issue is dealt with separately. But those are just the basic guidelines for the way I do things.

And boy does Marcia ship and package well. So well, she was calling me by noon to make sure it arrived. Hi Marcia, BTW Lilly the patternless M has gained 8 grams since we got him and loving life. Thanks!

Who ever shipped that snake, should be announced. Those are totally deplorable conditions to ship a snake. It almost looks like they threw it in there and said good riddance, not to mention the 3 day delay. Might be good enough shipping for a bed comforter but never for a living animal.

I do...

Let me start off by saying that box sucks! It obviously has no structure and as such, is exposed to all the outside elements incurred on it's journey. No doubt it arrived cold after 3 days in transit. You're lucky it didn't bake rolling around in one of those hot trucks with no insulation. Was it shipped to via ground service? I don't know the entire story but, going on what you have provided the seller owes you a refund and an apology.

Here are my terms;

**************************************************
*********
My guarantee is as follows: 1) Live arrival; provided there is someone available to sign for the package. All DOAs must be reported to me within 2 hrs of receipt of shipment. You must send the animal back to me or send a pic for verification. 2) Satisfaction guarantee, I do offer a 2 day period for buyer's remorse. What this means is; if the animal(s) you receive aren't what I described them as and/or are not the exact same animal(s) pictured, I will issue a full refund. This is also offered to give the animal a chance to settle in so, that you can see it's full potential. 3) Health, I guarantee all my animals to be feeding consistently and leaving solid stools from the time they leave my facility. All of my offspring will be free of mites, respiratory infections, IBD and overall, will be appear outwardly healthy. I will never knowingly sell a sick animal. There is a limitation to the guarantee of 7 days, in addition to the 2 days given for the satisfaction guarantee for a total of 9 days. 4) Butthole clause; I may refuse service to you if you are an ass. To put it in PC terms... I reserve the right to refuse to sell/service anyone I deem acting inappropriately, maliciously and/or with cruel intentions.
*I cannot and will not guarantee temperament.* Different animals may act differently to different people in different situations. Can I say that? Oh well, I hope I get my point across.
(There are more terms but, I would hope them to be common sense. If you have questions feel free to e-mail me.)
I will make few exceptions to these guarantees. I have worked very hard maintaining my stock over the years to provide the very best. They were selected with very harsh discrimination from the best and yes, even the not-so-very best breeders in the country. As with any animal, I recommend a period of quarantine of at least 30 days. Much of my stock originates from a WC or unknown background that has been thoroughly treated and strictly quarantined for periods of 6 mos and longer. As such, I have the utmost confidence in my animals and myself to produce top quality offspring and nothing less.
**************************************************
*********
The common sense part includes temperatures during shipment amongst other things. Also, all of my hets (at least) will be microchipped to verify their authenticity. My guarantee is a little extreme but, I aim to appease and satisfy my customers.

Good luck and let us know how everything works out for you.

Shipping terms

Obviously, the person did not know what they were doing or didn't care. Packed properly the animal will make it healthy albeit a little unhappy even if there is a delay. Was the delay due to carrier error or was it shipped 3 day? Either way it was packed wrong. Some people just don't care. I've turned deals down because the customer didn't want to pay for proper shipping. Our Terms are on our site at: www.herpbreedingresearch.com Notice we do not have disclaimers as some do I.E. No live arrival guarantee if over 90 or below 40, No guarantee on amphibians, not responsible for carrier error etc. We cover all this. If we ship an animal and the customer is happy with it but, it has some quirks they are uncomfortable with we may extend the guarantee for 7-10 days to ensure it's something minor. If that specimen dies or there is a problem we cover it. As to the "not responsible for carrier error" disclaimer, I cover it even if the carrier screws up. Not many people will. If feel they should. In regards to other companies' policies of "not responsible if temps over 90 or below 40??? Well don't ship or learn how to pack for unforseen conditions. We will even extend our guarantee for regular customers or customer we know are experienced. we do require proof of DOA's. Again if it's some we have dealt with we often do not ask for even that! Good luck! Ray G. HBR

Just had to throw a couple more pennies at the board

I have to say that I agree whole-heartedly with what Ray said about shipping temps. If you can't pack properly to compensate for a herps journey to it's new home then, you should probably think again about selling animals via the internet. Also, "excessive" in regards to temps and animals is not good for any party involved. In the state of Florida leaving your dog in an unoccupied vehicle for any period of time (even with the window cracked) constitutes jail time.

Thanks for reading,

hi guys

i shipped that box..the box was damaged during transit.
it left here on a thursday and didnt arrive until following monday.
i was told the snake perished on the following friday.
i offered this seller all the funds back for the snake and half of the shipping funds.
as far as the box..the paper was around the snake when it left.
the box was undamaged.
if you feel that it was not packed properly i apologize.
anyhow..perhaps i needed to take pictures of how it left.
i was also told the snake arrived fine regardless of the fact that it had been sent overnight express with a guaranteed 1030 arrival the next day and didnt do such.
other then insulation which i could have added i dont see the error of the situation- the temps that night were mild and there was no need for heat or cooling at that point..the box was tight to avoid the animal thrashing around .
anyhow..i am leaving and will be able to check my computer but not post on fuana until later on this evening.

thanks
kim

Okay...

If Kim agreed to a full refund and the shipping delay was due to carrier mishandling then, I do not see the dispute. However, I do see a problem with the packing... Any and all animals should be shipped in an adequate sized box with some sort of structure (other than the cardboard itself) and preferably some sort of insulation. Also, why is only half the shipping charge being refunded? If a carrier does not deliver on time and it is guaranteed then that shipment is free according to everyone I have shipped through. Anyway, mistakes are forgivable and I believe Kim to be a decent person (at least in our dealing she was). I am sure this situation can be easily remedied without getting out of hand and before it tarnishes anyone's reputation.

Hopefully, I was of some useful assistance.

shipping

Hi Kim,
that's one of the reasons I asked if it was shipped for 3 day arrival. Obviously carrier error. I'm sure your packing methods are good normally. In this case a couple of things might have helped. A little larger box.....This allows more room for packing material to protect the specimen. You can get sheets of 1/2"-11/2" styro material at building supplies. Runs about 10-12.00 for a 4'x8' sheet. These can be cut to fit bottom sides and top of box. This helps with temperature regulation and a BIG plus strengthens the box! If the box is punctured or banged around less chance of damage to the specimen. Second paper is just fine as a packing material on top of this. Nothing wrong with the paper. However, people may want to consider also, adding paper with the specimen...this will absorb urine and help keep the specimen from laying in it. I sure you know most of this Kim just addin that to inform others as well. As to the refund or policies that's between you and your customer? Just a side note..what were the lows in that area. If it was not below 40 for the 3 days, this is not likely to have caused death...I'd check on that. Thanks anyway, Ray G. HBR
