First of all this whole thing started from a bounced check that I told my wife to write from a checking account that I ONLY use for reptiles. I honestly don't remembered why we didn't do paypal like I usually do but for some reason we opt not to. Oh by the way I only keep a few hundred dollars in that account.
I don't remember but either my wife, kids and I were going to Disneyland or we had just got back. I don't remember but somewhere in the excitement I forgot about the animal I bought. I bought a snake from someone else with the money that was in there. Like I said I told my wife to handle this. I simply forgot. When I realized he posted the animal back up for sale I figured that was it. I wasn't embarassed to call I just figured he was pissed. Bad assumption on my part. Besides we had overspent on our Disneyland vacation, which was a blast btw, and I honestly couldn't afford $190 and it was an impulse buy. I left it alone.
My real job I work as a purchasing analyst. I analyze my companies procurement strategies and rewrite procedure and/or process. My job is to make sure the companies money is invested wisely by our buyers/material management.
Having said that I'm not that bad with money but think what you will. I have triple AAA credit as well as my company. I have investments that I pride myself. I feel pretty blessed monetary wise, although I have my restrictions.
I bounced a check! Never did get a snake. I honestly feel Ray didn't mean to mislead anyone but got confused over the shipping records.
Now to answer your question about my 2 "bad deals". First of all I have done hundreds of deals and I can garauntee( I could never spell that word right) that I have more than 2 people that are unhappy with the snake they got. I sent Maurico Mayer a snake that died 2 weeks later (he told me 6 months later) and he told me and I told him that I would send him a pastel baby or if he saw an animal that he liked that I posted I'll knock $150 off or something like that. It was an adult. I can't tell you why the snake died. For all I know it was his fault, but Maurico has purchased animals from me before so I know he's not a rookie and he was kind and simple in his email so I was kind and simple to him. Like attracts like.
I sold Brian Sharp a pastel female that was possibly gravid. When he got the snake he wasn't as impressed with the color in person but was a man and sold or traded it himself. I next sold him a 5.5ft Sumatran Water monitor that he has until this day. Things don't go as smoothly as you like. I sold a 7ft female red group to BCI design that my wife packed up because I was under the weather that week and when I got home and saw the stryofoam all chewed up I thought oh boy. What did she use to cut it, her teeth? Nonetheless he got a great quality animal IMO.
Do you see what I'm getting at nobody is perfect? I don't feel that I have to explain anything to anyone when my head is on the chopping block. That is just the "ghetto" in me but if someone asks me one on one and they are curious about these stories because they want to purchase an animal that I'm more than happy to accomodate him/her. I'm a pretty big and tuff guy I will admit and that attitude gets to me sometimes but my heart know I will NEVER hurt someone intentionally. Honestly I don't care if people don't believe me and think I'm a bad guy my life keeps going. THIS IS JUST A HOBBY FOR ME!!!! If you don't feel comfortable don't buy. Gray Rushin, a seemingly great guy, caught me on a bad day and told me what he thought of me in a not so polite way because he didn't believe someone got to an animal before he did and on one other occasion I backed out of selling an animal. Man I told this guy if I ever saw him it was on and cursed him out in email I mean who does this guy think he is. Afterwords, he replied back in a very gentle nature telling me he was a Chem teacher, which btw I got my degree in Biology, and I felt like crap. Here I was cursing at a teacher and was my elder on top of that. I promptly apologized and told him I had egg on my face and was terribly embarassed for my email which was the truth but again NO ONE IS PERFECT. The only excuse for this behavior is that we are human and must try to improve!
Anyways, I've typed alot and if you guys are still reading this then GET THE HELL OFF OF THE COMPUTER AND ENJOY LIFE!!!!!!!!!
