    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is true very true. But what about when 50 people are bashing you. Then is it cool to feel like this site has let you down. Cause that is what you people have done with this thread and the one started by someone else that is a mile long.

Once again no one was called a scammer if you read what he said. It just says watch out for her.

I dont blame him for wanting to do business on the phone it more personable and is how a true business person should be. Phone is better then text and in person face to face is better then phone.

No there is no proof and he never said that you are a scammer just told people to watch there backs. But once again I see this site as well as Cornsnakes.com true colors on how you all bash someone over and over just to make yourselves feel better. This site is here for helping each other and to sell some reptiles. That is all he wanted to do is sell some stuff and help out anyone that might get scammed.

I think sometime you people just need to back off and let by gowns be by gowns.

I know a few folks that dont have cell phones. Doesn't mean they are a bad person or a possible scammer. Might mean they are smarter with their money than we are.... they dont have the extra bills.

I have to agree with the sentiment of it not being a bad sign if someone doesn't have a cell phone. There are even some of us that do keep a cheap pre-paid one around but only use it for emergencies, I would be one of those people. What exactly is the point of paying every month for a phone if you are the type of person that prefers to either talk in face or online? Why throw all that money away when it's not needed.
And when it comes to making deals over the phone, to me that's a big no no. If someone wants to hammer out the details of a deal it should all be documented either on paper or through email. A deal made over the phone or in person with nothing written down leaves both the buyer and the seller, or in this case both traders completely unprotected. So to even call someone a possible scammer just because they would prefer not to do a deal over the phone, way over the top in my opinion.

I see it as she was trying to protect herself with everything in writing which does not make her a scammer in my book. But I guess there could be another way around it if he wanted to do the deal on the phone. She could of sent a email stating the terms of the trade and making every detail clear in the email and the other person could of replied back with whether he agreed or disagreed with the terms and they could of done it that way as well. But I would want everything in writing because there is no way to prove a phone call unless it has been recorded.

Just because someone does not have a trade status should not matter. If I remember correctly the only people that can leave trader ratings are paid members but I could be wrong on this one.

No I do not have a cell. For one thing we are so back in the Hills (as most of you know) that there is not much of a signal, when people get to our house they can't use their cell pretty much.

Another thing if you would read and pay attention I DO NOT sell snakes I don't even own one!

I sell bearded dragons and not a whole lot of those, oh and a few geckos.
I am far from rich, my job is caring for my mother and I don't get paid for that and I'd nerve take money for that anyway.

YES he did "more than once" come right out and call me a scammer.
Without even talking to someone on here first to see if anyone knows me or have dealt with me before.

The guy is rude, nasty, and has issues.
And he will easily pull deals right out from under you OR clearly make a deal with you and also have deals going on with other people with the same animals at the same time..

YES I have had this account for years, but was not big enough to come on here and sell alot of reptiles so no I don't have a rating here but have plenty on my site to back that up. I could see if I didn't have a site with good customer comments and testimonials. But he was there and read all that. Then called me a scammer and did a bad guy thing on me. All because of the phone, just a little uncalled for don't ya think?!

I'm truly sorry I can't do my reptile business on the phone. I really like alot of these peple on here and can say they are a friend but guess what I can't call them.

So to everyone out there, I totally understand if you'd not want to buy from me or do a trade with me because of this, it is understandable. And as I told him, no hard feeling and good luck.

I'm far from a scammer or bad person.

Josh, No one blamed him for being suspicious at all. Nowhere could you prove that we are on this thread because he is suspicious. He never seemed to want to get to the bottom of why she may or may not use a phone to conduct busines. Ever think that she might not get cell phone service where she is at? Hard to fathom for you I imagine but having been in that industry for 20 yrs, I can tell you that it exists a lot more than you think.

Since when is a trade any different than buying or selling? There is STILL value here. The only bashing I see going on is the repeated use of the word "skammer". How do you determine that someone is an actual scammer? Because they dont do phone transactions? If that is the case, you will find that most of the reputable people will NOT talk to you on the phone.

If you honestly think that I will NOT help someone being bashed to do the right thing, ask Ed Clark or Nicole Horton if I would help them sort through an issue even when I tell them that they are wrong. I am not friends with them nor do I think I would buy something from them but I can honestly tell you that Nicole will tell you that I would treat her fairly.

I wont put my reputation on the line but, I will do what I can to help someone make the right decision.

Amanda if you had something I wanted I would buy from you. Not utilizing the phone is not an issue for me.

Yes I have a business phone, but I dont normally give it out. Why? Because I still have to work a real job and I work odd hours at that. So its either going to be difficult to reach me on the phone or I am in with the animals taking care of them for the 3 hours I am home before I go off to bed.

If someone HAS to call me then fine... I can do that, but when it comes to a transaction we have to work that out via email or PM because I insist on a paper trail to protect us both.

Just because some of us do business by emails and PMs make us non-true business people?? Maybe where you live doing business face to face and on the phone is easy. Unfortunately for some of us we don't have that luxury. Where I live, middle of corn fields, our cell service sucks and most calls don't come through or get dropped in the middle of the conversation. So roughly 85% of my sales are done online. The rest is done at shows, local pet stores or friends. There may be 1% of my customers that even want to talk to me on the phone. But usually those cases are people asking advice on setups etc. In a business like this, emails, text and PMs are our paper trails or "proof" so to speak. With out it some one could be SOL. You obviously have seen some of the BOI threads and know how hard it can be to prove your case with out a trail of evidence to back you up. No proof can ruin your reputation and business.

At some point she was called a scammer. This person was in the process of a deal and then sold one of the snakes that were for trade. Didn't even tell Amanda he changed his mind. That's poor business in my book. If he were worried about trading with people, maybe he should do a search for the person or post and inquiry and see if others have had good or bad dealings. Not post accusations that some one may be scamming just because they wont talk on the phone or because they want you to ship first. If I am approached for a trade, the person doing the asking must ship to me first. That's just how I work. I have done trades where we ship same day before and not had any issues.

Like I stated before, I am in the process of a trade with Amanda. I feel 100% confident in our deal. She has been very helpful with some questions I've had and has kept in contact with me. These are not signs of a scammer to me.

Nothing you said made very much sense...Your friend shows ZERO respect on this site..He is an admitted HOT HEAD...It shows in alot of his posts here and on some classified ads..He is someone I would never buy from or sell to..I see your tagline say "future proffesional"...If you want to have a good name,you shouldnt take up for guys like this..His rep is getting tarnished pretty much everytime he types...It is very easy to get dragged own in this industry by the people you know and such..
 
My phone number goes out to people who have purchased animals, and I am at their beck and call if there are problems. But I absolutely refuse to conduct business on the phone. It loses me sales? So be it. Not my loss. I won't spend hours on the phone hawking animals for a hobby. If it were my job yes, but this.. no.

I think the real beef most of us have with the OP is that he really jumped the gun. With absolutely no proof whatsoever, and no time passing I might add, he created this thread labelling her as a bad guy, with the word "skammer" (I suspect he meant to say "scammer") in the title. If he truly meant this as just informative and to watch our backs without branding her negatively, he would have posted an INFO thread. That option is given when the post is created, and he chose bad guy. A bad guy thread insinuates that she ripped him off somehow and no one should do business with her.

Amanda - My offer for the ball still stands. Haven't heard from you so I don't know if you didn't see it, or aren't interested.

ok. lets "tackle" this little by little.

If he was just trying to warn people of a "potential skammer" why use the little red X that indicates a "Bad Guy"? there's the little light bulb for cases like this. that would have been more appropriate.

Trade stats was removed if i remember correctly, but if i am wrong what does that have to do with anything? Mr. Clark has a high feedback rating, but has many bad guy threads on him (nothing personal Ed, just using you as an example, if you feel offended please PM me as not to distract away from the thread)

Sales and Trades should not be considered different. "goods" are being exchanged in both cases. if its money or reptiles makes no difference. if both parties receive tracking #'s and send them to the other party, you have a way to know if your package is on its way.

Having a cell phone or not holds no merit in this instance. if the cell phone does not have reception where there accused party resides how would they be able to use it in order to contact the OP.

no one is blaming him for "being suspicious". if there are other parties interested in animals already spoken for, that speaks VOLUMES about the OP's customer service. You wanted the animals already spoken for? good for you, but to bad so sad. if the trade had of gone through, how would you feel? i think you would be posting a bad guy thread on him for taking your money on animals already sold to another party.

your right about one thing, there is NO proof posted by the OP. isn't that required for "taking his side" in foiling out a potential "skammer"? because there is NO proof, how can you say that he didn't call the party in question a "skammer"?

this site's "true colors"? if people being rational and seeking the truth threw posted PROOF gives us "colors" then i would think it would be the "color" to be. i can not speak for everyone, but i have in NO way "bashed" the OP. if i wanted to make myself feel better it would be threw the vindication of the accused party. (succeeded:thumbsup:)

This site is here for a lot more then for "selling stuff and helping each other out" this site is a great tool if you utilize it properly. his intentions may have been righteous, but his execution of them was off.

Most people will do their research before they post something so rediculous on a thread where it cannot be removed!!

If this "kid" and Amanda had the exact same animals for sale but Amanda's were twice the price... guess what... I would still buy from Amanda (even though she doesn't sell the animals I'm into.. LOL) The way she has handled herself in her posts here says a lot about her business ethics... she sounds honest and sincere and Amanda... You have nothing to worry about... Most people who read the BOI know to read through the entire thread and not jump to conclusions anymore by just reading the title!! You are a Good Person In my book and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with you!!
