In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

possibly too much calcium?

i dust crickets twice a day with reptical 6 days a week and 1 day a week, twice a day with herpivite. also put beardie in the sun 3 times a week for an hour, and have 10.0 reptisun uvb strip in tank (4ft x 2ft x 15 inches high) although uvb is about 8 months old so probably losing some of it's power. Am i using too much calcium? i have noticed sometimes his head twithes lightly. but other than that he's pretty healthy. almost 5 months and measures 12 inches and weighs 180 grams. I got him 3 weeks ago at reptile show, was 11 inches and weighed 132 grams. Thanks in advance.

Way over supplemented!
5x per week (once a day) with Calcium
1x per week herptivite
If calcium has d3 you should change to straight calcium and use calcium with d3 once a week also.
UVB should be fine with sunning but you should invest in a new bulb soon.
Twitching is not a good sign, may want to discuss this with the breeder.

I change my underware every day. Your point is?

Without being ignorant, I believe he was trying to state that a good time frame to change out UVB bulbs is every 6 months as this is what most keepers and breeders of dragons do. What does that have to do with your undies? Keep your sensless comments out of other peoples threads please, no need to make a butt of yourself.

So sorry that my joke offended you Jeffrey and thanks for the tips but it was my understanding that the main point of the thread was about over supplementation and did not ask how often to replace the UVB. In fact the OP stated that they were aware it was getting old. As to replacing them every 6 months “as this is what most keepers and breeders of dragons do” seems a bit speculative, but again thanks for the tip. Personally I think I will continue to check ours with a UVB meter and replace them as needed instead.
“Keep your senseless comments out of other peoples threads please” Lighten up Jeff….I don’t believe your powers of omnipotence to stop others opinions and thoughts will work in the digital forum.
All the best :).

Whoa! everyone relax

thread wasnt started so people could take swipes at each other, lol. How bout Jeff and Rik tell me what kind of calcium supplimentation you give your dragons and how many times a week or day. Thanks

Sorry

Sorry Rik saw you already answered, only person that did. Anybody else care to share how they supplement their dragons with calcium? Jeff? Thanks.

First let me say I was In no way taking shots at anyone Rik did that all on his own and I just stated it was uncalled for. I agree 100% with what Rik has said on supplementing dragons including the non d3 version aside from maybe once a week with the d3 and only once a day as well. I really just thought the underpants comment was unessacery as the other guy wad just trying to help how he thought he could.

I had noticed in the OP that they stated that the bulb was already 8 months old.I stated how often I feel is best to change the bulbs.
Rik- Your "joke" sure came off as rude. :shrug01: That being said I hope you dont "joke" with your customers in the same way...

Yeah I suppose so?! You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink! Lol

What magnificent drama can be created from so little. One of the reasons I (as I would assume others) post so seldomly.
July08 2003 I hope I have been of some assistance. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will help as I can. To you others whose worlds I have upset by my comments…please feel free to kiss the butt I have apparently displayed.
Customer satisfaction is our second highest concern after the health of our dragons so before you jump to conclusions about how they feel you might want to talk to them first.
To every one else reading this thread…. read the book before judging ☺
Cheers and All the best
